PrinceWatercress plays Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins - Part 7 of 9

Super-short world, super-fun gameplay.

All maps by RyuMaster.

To the north of the Tree Zone is the Hippo Level. Taking the top exit will bring you to the Space Zone! Win!

Hippo

Just enter the bubble the hippo statue makes, then keep jumping until you reach the end. You'll be at the top of the area the whole time. Easiest level ever.

If you even find a money bag with an M on it, grab it. You'll get 100 coins.

There is an arrow that points up. Once again, it's made up solely of the clouds in the background. Going up there gives you a 1-Up.

Space Moon

Hey, look. A star and a moon.

Space Level

The first thing you'll notice when you go to the space zone is the reduced gravity. But holding down the A button, you can make some long, floaty jumps. They feel so right and so satisfying, too. Sadly, you can not perform spin jumps or fly as Bunny Mario while in space.

There are spaceship-spaced enemies that fly around in specific patterns and UFO-shaped enemies that will shoot at you, but thankfully, you can jump on all the enemies here.

The ground that is shaped like a hand points to a block that leads to a bunch of coins when you make a huge leap to the right from it.

The blocks that are destructible by fireballs lead to a secret level. Why I've never noticed this until now, I'll never know.

You'll have to hit a few invisible blocks and do quite a few running jumps to make it to the entrance to the secret level.

Secret Level

Love how the moon gets angry when the star lands on it.

Well, there's not much to it, really. There's only a few enemies, and there's two hearts in one part.

Unlike the regular level, you can hold the A button to get further and further into the air. This is good practice for the Boss Level.

If you fall to the bottom, just run to the right.

When you beat the level, the moon is sad. Poor moon.

Boss Level

You'll have to avoid the stars and float your way to the other side in this auto-scrolling stage. Keep tapping A, and watch your altitude to avoid angry stars and puffer fish from space.

Being able to get a star will allow you avoid a few of the angry stars.

To beat the boss (which happens to be some sort of Tatanga clone), avoid its firepower by staying all the way to the opposite side of the guy and ducking, then wait for him to dive towards you so you can jump on the visor of his spaceship. His hit box is a bit finicky, so be careful. Three hits and he's history. You can hold the button down to wait until he stops flashing, so you can let it go and stomp on him again, making this a lot easier.
