PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 22 of 28

There are six enemies around the town of Burger! Let's meet them!

Before heading to Greene Castle, let's get experience and gold off the enemies near town.

Bad Burger casts Poison 2, Sleep and Confuse. It gives 315 Experience and 90 Gold, and it has a chance of dropping a Platinum Shield, which is even better than the shield you have now and is worth equipping at this point if you get it, as the Platinum armors are the second-best in the game only to the Duramet armors.

Slicer can cast Shove, but that's about it. Slicer gives 380 Experience and 106 Gold, and has a chance of dropping the Platinum Sword, which is the second-best weapon in the game (the Hacker is the best).

Geguana is weak against Freeze magic and can cast Slip. It gives 370 Experience and only 74 Gold, but it has a chance of dropping a Platinum Armor.

Spinster is weak against Bolt magic and can cast Fly and Shove. It has 980 hit points, and unless you are powerful or using the Power spell, it will take a while to beat a Spinster. Beating one fives you 396 Experience and only 93 Gold.

Mush Man has only 660 HP, which is the least of the enemies around here. It gives 358 Experience and only 83 Gold, and it has a chance of dropping a Platinum Helmet.

Unfixed is weak against Flame magic, strong against Bolt magic, and can cast Bolt 4 and Lash. It leave 360 Experience and 80 Gold, and does not have an item drop. It is the only enemy I know of that can run away, and it can do a ton of damage if given the chance. As a matter of fact, both are related: if you get hit with Bolt 4 and you happen to be under 200 HP, there is a chance they will flee.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 21 of 28

In this entry, we finally make our way to Burger, and we find out that Bio-Haz's soldiers are already on the ground ready to wreak havoc.

From Won Ton Village, you'll need to head back to the mountain. Back at the exit, you'll meet Mr. Noodle. Talk to him, and he will tell you that he slipped while trying to stop a child from falling, and asks you to help him find and rescue the child, who keeps calling the name "Marcela." Gum Drop will ask you to help her find the child. Mr. Noodle will tell you that the child is at the bottom of the cliff, way over to the left. Gum Drop will set up a barrier, while Mr. Noodle will head back to town.

You'll need to head to the lower-left corner of the canyon in order to find the child. Be ready to fight enemies and heal up when you need to. The place you need to go is south of where the chest with the Fix in it was. When you get there, you'll find Junior, who is injured. Four men will show up and carry Junior back to Steak's house, then Gum Drop will tell you to head back to the village. Sadly, you can't use the Escape spell, so you'll have to head all the way back to the village by foot.

Head back to the inn at Won Ton Village if necessary, then head to Steak's house. Talk to Mr. Noodle, and he will help you get to Burger. He will tell you to meet him at the cape to the south. At the cape, head all the way to the south. Mr. Noodle will appear from behind you, ready to get you to Burger by kite. Gum Drop will sadly say goodbye to you, as there is no way she can abandon Junior now. Before you leave, she hands you her earring. You'll then get on the kite, and Mr. Noodle will fly you to Burger.

At Burger, talk to the people. You'll find out that Burger is the most polluted town in all of the land, soldiers of Greene's army have been stationed at the abandoned house on the west side of town, and that Greene Castle has been overthrown. The shops, sadly, are closed, so you won't be able to buy anything here. You'll also find out that Dust Ball is attracting all the trash in the tower to the north. You won't be able to enter the tower...yet.

Enter the house that is not near any others in the west end of town. You'll be stopped by a soldier of Greene, who happens to be Lunch Box. He will open up a ladder to a hidden room, where you'll also meet Time Out. Time Out will tell you that they are going to attack the tower in the north, and Lunch Box will tell you that he is about to instigate a riot in order to make it possible. When the siren goes off, you'll need to enter the tower.

Aside from all the treasures here, you can also press A at the pot to refill your HP and MP. This is a relief, as even the inn itself is closed. The Power spell will increase your Strength when cast in battle at the cost of 10 MP.

When the siren goes off, leave the house and get to the towers. You can talk to the soldiers to fight them, but the Choppers are pretty weak despite giving 350 Experience and 200 Gold. They are weak to Bolt magic and strong against Flame magic, however. If you need the experience and gold, however, you'll have an endless supply of them, so you've got that going for you at the very least.

Just head north to the tower. You'll enter, and from there, you can make your way through it to fight the big bad who is causing trouble. The only enemy you will face here are Choppers, and you can just blaze through them if your level is high enough.

If you need to refill your HP and MP, head back to the abandoned house that is by itself, stand two tiles east from the top of the bed to reveal the ladder, then walk into the ladder to go back to the healing pot.

At the top of the tower is a wizard named...Thyme. (I thought his name was Dust Ball?) Thyme has 1948 HP and 4095 MP, and can cast Drain, Flame 4 and Freeze 4. Be ready to heal with Heal 4 - a lot - and make sure to cast Power to increase the strength of your physical strikes and counteract Drain. Thyme gives 4000 Experience and 1800 Gold when defeated, which is quite a lot for a boss, and has a chance of dropping a Med 3-15 scroll. Thyme will tell you that Bio-Haz is trying to save this world by bringing the trash from the world of Greene into the human world, which really isn't a solution at all.

Once you beat Thyme, the tower will be free of monsters, and you'll be free to return to town at your leisure. When you reach the entrance, Lunch Box and Time Out will show up to tell you that they will be starting a local militia with the people in town, and will ask you to head to Greene Castle to the east. When you head back to town, the shopes wills till be closed, but there will be two people at the entrance to the south who will be able to sell you items and spells and take any items that you don't need.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 20 of 28

We'll be doing quite a bit of exploration in this video, but once we do, we'll be close to the end of the game.

The Mixmash is actually a new enemy, despite what I thought. It is weak against Flame magic and Strong against Freeze magic, and can cast Freeze 3. It gives 262 Experience and 630 Gold, and also has a chance of dropping a Suncut, which is the fourth-best weapon in the game and even better than the Gold Sword dropped by the Espresso!

Yochoke can cast Speed, Slow and Freeze 3, but since we're so powerful, that doesn't end up happening. It gives 255 Experience and 840 Gold, and has a chance of dropping Gold Armor, which is the fifth-best armor in the game, so if you get it, pick it up.

The shadowy figure here is actually a vendor, and if you talk to him, you can get Med 4-5 scrolls that can fully restore your HP in one use. You can also buy any of the three Regains as well as Fix, which is a complete HP and MP restore as mentioned earlier. Hope you've got money!

You'll eventually make it out of the cave, where you'll see another inn. Be sure to use it and save before exploring further. If your HP goes anywhere below 200, heal up so you can survive. Here, you'll encounter Lazedisc, which can cast Bolt 3. It gives 259 Experience and 908 Gold upon defeat.

Goo Man can cast Stick to briefly stun you, but that is all they can really do. Goo Man drops 264 Experience and 1118 Gold, which is a lot of Gold at this point.

Snockle can cast Confuse, Flame 3 and Freeze 3. It drops 268 Experience and 612 Gold, and has a chance of dropping a Fix, which is nice to get for free if you can pull it off.

When you reach the end of the area, Gum Drop will tell you that her magic power has run out, but at least you will be safe. Won Ton Village will be to the west. Head there.

By talking around, you'll find out that the Salmon Cape to the south shares a border with Burger, and that it is known for its strong winds. You also won't be able to get to Burger by ship due to the strong tides. You'll also find out that Steak, who lives in a house in the northwest corner of the village, has been making a huge kite, and that kites are popular in Won Ton Village. It just so happens that Steak makes huge kites that are unable to fly.

At the magic shop, you can get Bolt 4 and Heal 4. Bolt 4 is the most powerful version of Bolt, while Heal 4 will fully heal you at the cost of 16 MP.

At the weapons and armor shop, only get the Rapier if you haven't gotten the Gold Sword or the Suncut. The Silver armors will be better than the Steel armors, but if you have the Gold Shield, the Gold Armor, or Gold Helmet, don't even buy any of the Silver equivalents, as the Gold versions will be stronger.

Steak will be living in the house to the left of the weapons and armor shop, and he will have a kite in front of him.

Heading south from Won Ton Village on the overworld map takes you to Salmon Cape. If you head all the way south, Gum Drop will get the idea to ride one of Steak's kites over to the other side. If you go back to town and talk to Steak, he will tell you that he has no talent at flying kites, but that Mr. Noodle, who is traveling here from over the mountains and arriving at any moment, may be able to help you out, and he will tell you to head to the mountain exit to wait for him.

You may encounter the Wingworm outside of Won Ton Village. It is strong against Freeze magic and can cast Fly and Freeze 3. It gives 275 Experience and 1318 Gold upon defeat, and has a chance of dropping a Silver Shield.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 19 of 28

It's time to make our way through the mountains...

Head northwest from Caviar Village. You'll find a forest. One you enter, just follow the path. At the three way fork near the end, don't go west; it leads to a dead end. The Rind is a really easy enemy to defeat that drops 195 Experience and 315 Gold. The Wrangler is just as easy as the Rind and gives 155 Experience and 208 Gold. Ditto with the Eye Pie, which gives 169 Experience and 296 Gold. The Eye Pie tends to run away, but they never do that to me because I am too fast and too powerful.

You'll eventually find a building. Talk to the man to enter the hot spring. Before you can go into the next room, however, you will have to hand your inventory - and your clothes - to the man guarding the door. From there, go into the water. You'll heal your leg in storyline. When you leave the room, the man you gave all of your belongings to will be gone. Leave the building, and you'll find out that the guy was really one of Bio-Haz's soldiers. You'll have to go back through the forest in your underwear to find him. Thankfully, the enemies here are really weak.

You'll have to head back to the beginning of the forest to find the guy who took all your stuff, and when you do, the guy will be confronted by Marcela. Marcela will get your weapon away from him, then you'll face Lickick. Lickick has 900 HP, but he is a vanilla enemy and is easy to take down. He gives 2500 Experience and 2600 Gold when defeated.

When you beat Lickick, Marcela will reveal herself to be Gum Drop Greene, one of the princesses of the Greene royal family, and she will mention that the programmers gave them all strange names, immediately breaking the fourth wall. She says that she is here to spy on the enemy while relying on Pint's help, but she ended up falling in love with Pint and his son Junior.

Once you're out of the forest, you can talk to Gum Drop with Status. She will tell you to go to the mountain to the north. Keep going in that direction until you can't, then head west to find a sign. Read the sign, and you'll be able to climb the mountain.

When you enter the mountains, Gum Drop will put a magical barrier. This will protect you from the blizzard. She can also use it in battle in case an enemy casts a spell, and the barrier will protect you from the magic.

The Ham Man is strong against Freeze Magic and can cast Shove. It gives 257 Experience and 815 Gold (which is a lot for this point in the game), and has a chance of dropping a Gold Helmet. The Gold Helmet is the fourth-best helmet in the game, so if you get it, equip it. The Hogninja can cast Scare, and gives 252 Experience and 701 Gold upon defeat as well as a chance of dropping a Radcut, which is better than the Badcut. The Espresso is weak against Flame magic and strong against Freeze magic, and can cast Freeze 2. It gives 248 Experience and 718 Gold, and has a chance of dropping a Gold Sword. This is better than even the Radcut and is the fifth-best weapon in the game, so if you get this, equip it. You'll be good on needing a new weapon for a while.

The beginning of the mountain is pretty straightforward to get through. After about six screens of the same path, you'll find a cabin and a cave entrance. The cabin is an inn where you can heal. In the Japanese version, this is a weird mountain hut and not an inn, and if you rest here, you'll have to fight an enemy called "Naughty Illusion," which is a large naked woman with long hair covering her backside, and you'll have to beat that enemy to continue on. This was cut out entirely for the North American version.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 18 of 28

Let's spend time in town and see what we need to do next.

By talking around in the Village of Pint, you'll find out that Pint used to be a soldier of Greene, and that his wife passed away ten years ago. Some people think that Pint and Marcela make for a good pair, as Pint is in love with Marcela. As for Marcela, she randomly ended up at Pint's home one day. Also, when the snow falls here, it is black (probably due to the pollution).

You'll also meet the doctor in a house in the west side of town. If you talk to him, he will tell you about the hot spring in the northwest forest, which will be able to help heal your leg in storyline.

At the magic shop, you can get Freeze 4, which is the strongest Freeze magic in the game. At the armory, get the Badcut, the Steel Armor (which is better than even the Chrome Armor), the Steel Shield (unless you have the Alloy Shield, then don't), and the Steel Helm (which is stronger than even the Chrome Helm).

There are new monsters outside of the town. Dish Pan give 173 Experience and 459 Gold when defeated, and if you're in the high-30's as far as levels go, they won't be too much trouble, even if they are weak against Freeze Magic and can cast Speed to make themselves faster in battle.

Bambobif is a stronger version of Bamboobe. It is strong against Freeze magic and cast Fire 1 and Fire 2. They give 169 Experience and 624 Gold when defeated, but they also have a chance of dropping Chain Armor. If you get it, equip it, as it's better than what you can get in Caviar Village.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 17 of 28

In this entry, we finally face Cadmium and defeat him, but Cadmium has one last trick up his sleeve...

It's time to head to the cave to the northwest. When you head north to the coast and then west, then follow the passage leading south when you see it. You'll soon reach a cave. Enter it.

Along the way, you'll probably meet the Meltmess. It can cast Slip, but that's pretty much the worst of it regarding this enemy. Beating Meltmess gives you 120 Experience and 287 Gold, as well as a chance at an Alloy Shield drop. If you get it, equip it; it's slightly stronger than what you can get in Torte Village.

At the cave, equip Zap1 and talk to the guard. Microwave will tell you to use Zap1 before the battle, so do that if you want to defeat him. Beating Julian will net you 1500 Experience and 500 Gold. Zap1 costs 10 MP and causes instant death to the target if it connects, but it will not always hit. If it doesn't hit Julian, keep casting Zap1 until you do, as it is the only way to defeat him.

Once Julian is defeated, enter the cave and follow the path. You'll meet some new enemies along the way. The Craw Mom is weak against Bolt Magic. It gives 132 Experience and 320 Gold, as well as a chance at a Chrome Armor drop. Equip it if you find it, as it will be the strongest armor you can get at this point. The Craw Mom can also be met on the way to the cave.

The black shadowy figures that move back and forth are Maxigrems. They can cast Shove, but other than that, they're pretty much vanilla enemies. They give 205 Experience and 209 Gold when defeated.

Bug Boy appears in this cave as well, but it's the same as ever. The same is true of Konklone.

Charczar is another fireball enemy. It is weak against Freeze magic, understandably strong against Flame magic, and can cast Fire 2, which can still pack a punch. It gives 133 Experience and 418 Gold, and has a chance of dropping a Med 3-10 scroll.

The Wig is useless and is only there if you need money.

Make sure you explore all of the floors fully, as you'll miss out on two chests containing a Regain 3 if you fail to do so.

On the final floor, you'll finally meet Cadmium. When he asks if you will face Bio-Haz, pick "No." You'll then face...Cavity? But I thought his name was Cadmium?!? Cavity has 1700 HP and is weak against Bolt magic. Use that along with physical attacks, and heal up with your strongest Heal magic if your HP goes anywhere under 100 HP. He can also cast Shove. He drops 2500 Experience and 2200 Gold, and also has a chance of dropping a Fix. If you get that, hold on to it. You won't be able to get Fixes until near the end of the game, as a Fix fully replenishes all HP and MP outside of battle.

After the battle, you'll find out that the guy's name was Cadmium the whole time, thanks to the message box. Cadmium will congratulate you, saying that if you put your heart into it, you could become a great ruler that surpasses even Bio-Haz, as you has the make of a ruler like him. After Cadmium dies/disappears, Microwave finds out that she has put her back out, and you'll have to carry her on your back on the way out of the cave.

Head back to Torte Village. If you run into any enemies on the way back, you'll be able to fight them, but you won't have Microwave casting spells alongside you in battle. Get Microwave back to the big house on the north end to get her home, then Microwave will tell Sam that Bio-Haz and his followers are from his world, and not the one he is in right now. She says that she has no intention of blaming you, as there is no one else who can match Bio-Haz's power and defeat the great greed which seems to drive him and his minions. (Hey, she said the game name!) Microwave will tell you that the citizens of the kingdom are gathering in Burger, and that you must join them and fight. Say "Yes," then Microwave will tell you to join the people in Burger and that she will catch up with you later.

From Torte Village, head back to Fly Port to the south. At Fly Port, head to the southernmost dock and press A at the boat. You will man the boat with the key, but on the way to the next area, Cadmium will blow up your boat in one last-ditch effort to destroy you. Unfortunately for him, it does not work, as you get rescued by some people. You'll wake up in Caviar Village in the Empire of Soup near a woman named Marcela, and you'll also meet her husband Pint and their son Junior. You'll also find out that you have an injured leg, but it doesn't affect you in anyway in-game. When you try to leave, Marcela will wonder why you want to go to Burger, and that you must go through a blizzard in the mountains and get across the nearby channel to get there.

You'll then be able to explore the village. If you re-enter where you came here from, you'll find a chest containing a Dress, but it won't be able to do anything for you armor-wise.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 16 of 28

In this entry, our adventures in the nation of Escargot begin.

From the village of Fly Port, head to the west and follow the coastline as you do. You'll soon find a lone tree; walk into it and you'll enter the cape. At the tree is a man in a cloak named Cadmium, who is the commander of Bio-Haz's Hunter group. He will warn you that you are target of his subordinates, and gives you the choice of either obeying Bio-Haz or defeating him, then he will tell you to come to the cave in the northwest when you make your decision. Cadmium also gives you the Cool Mint leaves so you can travel across the desert, then he leaves.

There is a third enemy here that I managed to come across between this entry and the last: Bug Boy. He can cast Confuse, but that is the least of your worries with him. Beating Bug Boy gives you 118 Gold and 155 Experience.

From the cape, head north and into the desert, and follow the mountains. You'll find Torte Village. At the magic shop, you can purchase Guard to increase your defense at the cost of 10 MP, and you can also get Flame 4, which is the strongest fire spell in the game. At the weapon shop, get the BigCut and the Ceramic Shield. If you don't have the Alloy armor, go ahead and get the Ceramic Armor.

The people of Torte Village will tell you that the air is polluted and that a great wizard has returned. As a matter of fact, everyone here is a wizard. There is a building in the northwest corner that looks different from all of the rest, but you won't be able to do anything there...yet.

Head to the big building all the way on the north end to advance the plot. Two women will show up and lead you to "Grandmother." "Grandmother" is actually Microwave. She will tell you that Citrus will be fine, and that she also knows about Cadmium coming after you. She then joins your party for a brief time before telling you to head to the storage house to get the Zap 1 spell, and her ability to cast spells on enemies in the background can be pretty helpful in battle. The storage house is the aforementioned building in the northwest corner of town. It's time to head in.

Now that you have Microwave in your party, you'll be able to enter this dungeon. The person at the stairs will warn you that the magical warping device is out of order and that monsters have taken over the dungeon.

There are some new enemies in this area besides the ones that you've met so far in this country. The Konklone is weak against Flame magic and Strong against Bolt magic, and can cast Confuse and Bolt 2. It gives 134 Gold and 283 Experience when defeated. The Beano is weak against Flame magic and strong against Freeze magic, and can also cast Stick, which can cause you to be stuck to the floor and unable to move for a short time. It gives 130 Gold and 306 Experience upon defeat, and has a chance of dropping a Carbon Helmet. This is good if you have the Ceramic Helmet, but don't have the Chrome Helmet.

If you see plain floor that doesn't look like brickwork in the center of a room, walk into it. You'll change where the door is among the four walls in a clockwise fashion. Some doors are one way, so you'll need to watch where you're going.

In the first room with three chests, only open the one in the center. That one contains a Med 3-10 scroll; the other two contain Trash.

In the second room with three chests, only open the left and center chests; the right chest contains Trash. The Stamp may be worthless, but at least you can sell it without losing money.

The Clothes are the weakest armor in the game. You're better off tossing them or selling them for what little Gold they are worth.

You'll eventually find Zap 1 in a chest. Zap 1 has a random chance of instantly killing an enemy upon casting, and it does not always work. From here, you can either walk out the long way or use Escape to instantly leave the dungeon.

Back in the big house at the north end of Torte Village, the guy near the bookshelves will tell you that the HP of the guard at the north cave are endless. Keep that in mind for later.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 15 of 28

In this entry, we finally find out who attacked the resistance base, then head to the nation of Escargot.

From the resistance base forest, head back to Pasta Village, then head west and enter the valley. Keep heading west, and you'll meet Shrimp, who will show his true colors. You'll then have to fight him.

Shrimp has 1400 HP and is weak against Bolt magic, but can cast Power to increase his offense and Heal 1 to heal himself. Keep using strong physical attacks as well as Bolt 2 to take him down. If your health is hovering around 100 HP or less, use Heal 3 to heal yourself. He will give 1300 Experience and 2000 Gold when defeated, and he also has a chance of dropping a Med 3-10 scroll.

After Shrimp is defeated, an earthquake will occur, and Citrus will shove you out of the way and toss her ring over to you as she hangs off the precipice. She then tells you to head west towards the land of Escargot and head to Burger, and that she will be okay. Do it.

When you enter the land of Escargot, head west and go straight to town. One of the first enemies you'll meet is Turnover, who can be pretty tough and can pack a punch. Turnover is weak to Bolt magic, however. The battle will net you 94 Gold and 228 Experience.

At the Armory, buy the Ceramic Helmet and the Iron Armor (assuming you don't have the Chrome Helmet and you don't have the Iron Armor already), then equip them. At the Magic Shop, you can get Bolt 3, which is more power . Slow can reduce enemies' speed and slow them down at just 5 MP, and Block deflects enemy elemental spells (such as Flame, Freeze and Bolt) for 8 MP.

At the village, you'll find out that you are in Fly Port, and that there have been a lot of suspicious people around as of late. The earthquake from earlier will also be mentioned, as it destroyed all but one ship in the harbor, and you'll need that ship to get to Burger. You'll also find out that a man was chanting a spell at the cape in the west before the earthquake struck.

At the house in the southeast corner, you'll learn about the desert town of Torte Village, and you'll also learn about a sword in the canyon at the border. The chest inside the house will contain a Cutter, which is more powerful than even the BigCut, so equip it.

At the house near the center of the village, you'll find out that you must have protection in the form of the Cool Mint leaves growing on the western cape for shade when you head to the desert to the north, as the desert is too hot.

The other new enemy you can find around the village of Fly Port is Matalov. They can cast Stun, Poison 2, Wrap and Silence, but they are weak to Flame magic. They give 119 Gold and 295 Experience when defeated, and have a chance of dropping some Alloy armor. If you get it, equip it, as it also increases your strength by five and is more powerful than what you'll find on the continent.

The Dragon will also make a return appearance around here, but we've fought the Dragon already.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 14 of 28

Gee, who would have thought that the beauty contest was a Bio-Haz plot?

West of Pasta Village is the Fruits Forest.

Going east from the start and pressing A at the south end of the tree there will net you an Apple. Going further east from there will net you the Peach. As for the Walnut, it will be in a tree in the north end of the maze.

One of the chest contains Trash. You do not want to pick this item up! If you do, you won't be able to discard it like any other item, as it is considered littering, and the only way to get rid of it is to sell it. If you sell trash, you'll actually lose 1000 Gold, as you actually have to pay the shopkeeper money to take it off your hands...so don't get it.

The Limburg is smelly Limberger cheese. All you can do with it is sell it.

The Dragon is weak against Freeze Magic, and can cast Fly and Shove. It gives 79 Experience and 262 Gold, and has a chance of dropping Iron Armor, which is better than the Plate Armor dropped by the Rib Cage. If you get this, equip it.

The Bomber is weak against Freeze magic and strong against Fire Magic. If allowed, it will cast Steal, which will steal the fruits that you have collected and force you to collect them again. This is why it pays to come here at a high enough level. The Bomber gives 88 Experience and 222 Gold when defeated.

"Amazon Attack" is not "Citrus Attack" now that you know Citrus' name.

You can also find Weaken for free in one of the Fruits Forest chests.

Now that you have the three fruits, talk to Fifi again. Fifi will be able to make the costume for Citrus. He will then tell you to head back to your room and rest. To advance the plot, you'll need to head to the inn and spend 15 gold to rest there. Head back to Fifi to get the dress, then head to the big building on the east side of the village. Talk to the man south of the chest containing the grand prize, and you'll enter the contest. Citrus will take the stairs to the west, while you take the stairs to the east. Enter the stairs to the east.

When you go up the stairs to the east, follow the path to get a front row seat at the beauty contest. Citrus will win it handily after Fifi shows up and the powers of the dress are activated, and the dress works. As a matter of fact, it works too well, as the men in the audience are hypnotized by the dress. Fifi reveals himself as a follower of Bio-Haz, then dares you to move. Press A, then press Up to get on the stage. Fifi will get angry that the dress' powers does not work on Sam due to him being from Earth, then shows his true form.

Fifi has 1300 HP and is weak to Bolt, so hit him with Bolt 2. He can also cat Fire 2, so be on the lookout for that. If you're close to Level 30, however, he is really weak, as you can keep hitting him and he won't be able to do anything. He will start defending when his health is low, however, so if you need to, start casting Bolt 2 at that point. Defeating Fifi rewards you with 1050 Experience and 1500 Gold.

After the battle, Fifi dies, but not before hinting that something is happening within the resistance army. Citrus will tell you to get back to the resistance village. Before you go, open the chest to get the Stabber, and while it increases your Speed by 20, it is a lot weaker than what you've already got.

Head back north and head to the forest. Go west, then north as soon as you're able to, then east as soon as you're able to. When you reach the resistance base, you'll find out that everybone has been defeated and that whoever attacked them has entered the canyon to the southwest. If you enter the northern-most tent, you'll find out that Shrimp is gone.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 13 of 28

In this entry, the mystery woman's identity is revealed, and we find out that we must join a beauty contest in order to get the weapons that the resistance really needs.

From Macaroni Burg, you'll want to head south and enter the forest. Head west until you can head north, then head north until you can head east. From there, head south, and you'll find the resistance base.

You'll find the village, but only the strong woman who is accompanying you - who happens to be Princess Citrus - is the only person who believes you are who you say you are, as the rest of the resistance is not convinced. You'll then get in a battle with Citrus, or "Citurus," as the game wants to call her for this one point in the game. Just keep hitting her with your sword, and she will eventually go down. You'll get 900 Experience out of the battle.

After the battle, everyone will be satisfied, then Citrus leaves to attend a strategy conference. From here, you'll be able to explore the resistance base. By talking to the people around here, you'll find out about Mr. Shrimp, the resistance's strategist. You'll need to go into all of the tents and talk to everyone before you can head into the tent at the far north and talk to Citrus so you can leave. Citrus will introduce Sam to Mr. Shrimp, then she will tell you to head into Pasta Village in the south to acquire some weapons powerful enough for the resistance to take on Bio-Haz before re-joining. From here, you can leave the resistance base, and you can then leave the forest.

Lavaflow is a new enemy and can only be found in the forest leading to the base. It can cast Poison and Bolt 2, and will leave 61 Experience and 240 Gold when defeated. It also has a chance of dropping Regain 2.

From the forest, head south, then follow the path. You'll meet a new enemy in Hot Dawg, which is weak against Freeze and can cast Push. It gives 80 Experience and 255 Gold upon defeat, and also has a chance of dropping Regain 3, which is nice if you can get one.

At Pasta Village, you'll find out that there is a beauty contest going on. At the inn, you can go upstairs and enter the first room you see, then talk to the guy near the wall to get a glimpse at the contestants in the other room only to get pushed aside almost immediately. Interestingly, you can go into the other room and talk to the ladies inside, and if you look at where the peephole is and press A, you can scare the guy on the other end.

At the armory, you'll find out that the weapons for the resistance base were sold to pay for the prizes for the beauty contest, one of which is a powerful sword. As for what you can buy, get the Bronze Armor and the Iron Shield. You can also buy an Iron Helmet, but you won't need to if you managed to get a Chrome Helmet earlier.

The building near the east wall that looks different from all the rest is where the beauty contest takes place. The prize will be in a nearby chest, and one of the people inside will tell you to meet with the contest coordinator in order to join the beauty contest. You won't be able to do anything else here for the moment.

At the magic shop, you can get Tactics, which temporarily reduces the rate of random encounters - instead of outright eliminating them - at the cost of 6 MP. If you want it, pass on it here, as you'll find it for free in the next area we're heading to. Freeze 3 is a must, as is Heal 3. Freeze 3 does more damage than Freeze 2 at the same cost of 7 MP, while Heal 3 heals 180 HP at the cost of 8 MP.

At the house in the northwest, you'll meet Mr. Fifi, the beauty contest coordinator. Talk to him, and you'll get the chance to enter the beauty contest. Say "Yes," and Mr. Fifi will tell you to go to the Forest of Fruit to the east and bring back three kinds of fruit: an apple for grace, a peach for beauty, and a walnut for wisdom. (How is a walnut a fruit?) There are three trees in the forest that each carry one of these types fruits. With the three fruits, Mr. Fifi will make a beautiful costume for Citrus.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 12 of 28

Let's take some on some enemies and get stronger before we explore the nation of Spaghetti.

To the west of where you enter will be the village of Macaroni Burg. Along the way as well as near the village, you'll meet some new enemies. The first is Rib Cage, which has 291 HP and is strong against Freeze Magic. Rib Cage can also cast Scare, which can lower your offense. Rib Cage drops 76 Experience and 225 Gold, and has a chance of dropping Plate Armor, which will be the best armor you can come across for a while.

In Macaroni Burg, you'll find out that there is a resistance army nearby, and that their leader is strong. You'll also find out that a lady fencer is hanging out in the Armory. When you head there, you'll find out that this lady fencer is looking for weapons for the resistance, but the weapons there are not good enough. When she turns around to leave, she will notice Sam, and ask him to join the resistance army. Say yes, and she will join you. (This is a "but thou must" situation.) The lady fencer will then tell you to head to the Southern Forest.

At the Armory, go ahead and buy the Hotcut, the Bronze Shield and the Iron Helmet (unless you have the Chrome Helmet from the Garican, in which case you don't need to). At the magic shop, get Flame 3, which is more powerful than Flame 2. Weaken can be used to lower the enemy's defense at the cost of 5 MP.

Now it's time to take on the rest of the enemies around here. At this point in the game, you'll want to level up for about an hour in the first village of every land you enter. As a matter of fact, you should have been doing that. This explains why the enemies usually never give me any trouble.

Chickik is a stronger version of Chikstik. It is strong against Freeze magic, and it can cast Fly. It gives 82 Experience and 238 Gold when defeated, and there is a chance that it will drop Bigcut, which is even stronger than the Hotcut, so if you get a Hotcut, equip it and hold onto it for a while.

If you see the message "Whoop, Whoop Amazon Attack," that's the lady fencer getting a free shot on the enemy, making your battle a little easier.

Brainy is weak against Freeze magic and strong against Bolt Magic. It gives 64 Experience and 175 Gold when defeated.

Pie Guy is strong against Bolt magic and can cast Flame 3. It gives 67 Experience and 140 Gold when defeated. It has a chance of dropping a Skewer, and while it is more powerful than the Hotcut, it is less powerful than the Bigcut. If you don't have the Bigcut, you can use this until you do. His head is on a plate, and when he dies, it turns into a skull. Nice touch.

Lolizard is weak against Freeze, but it can also cause Slip and cause you to slip and fall, stunning you for a short time. It gives 55 Experience and 218 Gold when defeated, and it has a chance of dropping a Med 3-5 scroll upon defeat.

Orangater has some pretty high defense, much like the Lemonater, and while it is weak against Freeze, it can also cast Heal 1. It gives 51 Experience and 232 Gold when defeated, and it also has a chance of dropping a Regain 3, which is the best of the Regain items and recovers 200 MP. Hold on to this for later in the game if you get on; you'll definitely be needing it later!

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 11 of 28

In this entry, we finally neutralize the poison at Crater Lake, but we'll have to take on another lieutenant of Bio-Haz if we want to get out of this alive.

Once you enter the forest West of Hothot Village with the password, Sam will automatically recite the password, and you'll be able to go in.

In order to make progress through this forest, you'll have to walk up to baby birds and talk to them. You'll also have to go through the maze in a specific way, and if you go the wrong way, you'll be blocked by one of the Tree Brothers, who will force you onto the right path.

Flash blinds enemies temporarily when used in battle. It costs 5 MP to use.

The first bird you need to interact with will be east of the chest with the Foil Sword. Be sure to equip the Foil Sword if you need it, then talk to the bird and its mother will carry you off to another point in the maze. From there, head north. The Stamp is a worthless item that can be sold for only 75 Gold. From the Stamp, head west past two intersection and go north on the third. You'll find a Med 3-10 scroll. Med 3 restores 180 HP. Save this for bosses.

From the Med 3 chest, head west and talk to the baby bird to be carried elsewhere. When you get dropped off, don't talk to the baby bird next to you; instead, head east until you find a chest that gives you Regain 2, which recovers 80 MP. From there, go north, then west. You'll find another baby bird, but before you talk to it, go further west to get Repel out of a chest. Repel can be used to decrease the chance of a random enemy encounter in dungeons and in the overworld for a short time, but I personally do not use it much. It costs 10 MP to use.

When you get carried off one more time, head west to get an Ultrahot Flower. From here, head back to Nutmeg Village to the northwest. As it turns out, I forgot a monster near here: Garican. It is weak against Freeze magic and can cast Poison and Sleep. It gives 62 Experience and 182 Gold when defeated, and has a chance of dropping a Chrome Helmet. If one gets dropped, equip it; it will last you for a good while.

Back at Nutmeg Village, go back to Truffle. She will give you the Neutralizer, then tell you to head to Crater Lake. Pappu will try to join you, but he will sprain his ankle after having exercised too much, and you will have to take his place in getting the Neutralizer to the lake. Leave the village and head to the north to Crater Lake.

You'll have the option of nibbling the Ultrahot Flower to double your speed, and you will barely be able to make it. If you eat the flower outright, you'll double your speed twice over, but your HP will be reduced. You only have 12 seconds to get to Crater Lake before getting caught up in the poisonous fog, and thankfully, the game gives you as many tries as you need to get there so you can memorize where the rocks are so you don't run into them and get stunned for a few seconds, which causes you to lose time.

When you get to the lake, Sam will throw the Neutralizer into the lake. A man named Darts, who is a minion of Bio-Haz, will show up and confront you for interrupting his work before deciding to finish you outright. Darts has 850 HP and is weak against Freeze magic, so mix that up with your physical attacks. Be sure to cast Power so you can increase the strength of your physical attacks, too. He can also cast Poison 2, which does even more damage than regular Poison, and he can use Heal 1 when his HP gets low. Darts will give 800 Experience and 2000 Gold when defeated.

When Darts is defeated, he will threaten to throw his own poison into the lake, but Truffle will show up just in time and kill him with the Neutralizer. You'll then get the Power Water for future use against Bio-Haz, then you'll be able to head back to Nutmeg Village.

Back at Nutmeg Village, talk to Pappu. He will thank you, then allow you to take what is in the nearby chest, which is the Escape spell. At the cost of just 1 MP, you can escape a dungeon without having to go back out the long way. Leave the village, then head back to Hothot Village. Their ultrahot will now have subsided, and you can access the stores again. At the armory, get the Copper Armor and equip it. At the magic shop, you can get the Drain Spell, which lowers the enemy's attack power during battle and can be useful against bosses.

When you talk to the man at the bridge, you'll be able to head to Spaghetti, but once you do, you won't be able to come back. Truffle will bid you farewell as she researches the Power Water further, then tells you to find her sister Citrus, who is the strongest of the five princesses, and help her out. She will also give you her brooch, which fits nicely in Calorie's collar. You'll then enter the land of Spaghetti.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 10 of 28

Our adventure takes us to the south, where we find out that the Power Water has been tainted by Bio-Haz and that fixing it will be no easy task.

From Cinnamon, you'll want to head around the lake to the south, where you will find a sign in the mountains. Interact with the sign, and select "Yes" when the game asks if you want to climb. Once you're in the mountains, talk to the guard. He will let you through, but he will tell you that in order to get across the mountain, you must do so without fighting any of the enemies, or else you will be sent back to the start and you'll have to start all over again.

The layout of the mountain is simple to get through, as you'll have to go through the same screen four times. If you encounter any Yam Bams or Strainers, keep pressing B until they run away while performing the Shove attack. This lets you get away from the enemies. When you reach the end, you'll be able to talk to the guards to enter the next village, and you'll also get 800 Experience Points.

In this mountain village, you'll find out that Ralph Vader is in the nearby office. You'll also find out that Hothot Village is down the mountain to the south, then to the south-east, and that you'll find Nutmeg Village on the way. At the armory, get the Tin Armor. At the magic shop, get Heal 2 and sell Heal 1. It will cost four MP to use instead of two, but it will restore 100 HP.

To the north is Ralph Vader's office. You'll find out that Vader is able to read minds, and if you talk to him in the next room, he will already figure out what you're going to ask him. He will tell you to head south to Nutmeg Village, and then to Crater Lake. He will also tell you to ask the gatekeeper at the village for permission to fly directly to the foothill. When you're ready to leave, leave the village from the south, then talk to either of the guards to get teleported to the south.

You'll be on the other side of the mountain. Another village is to the east. On the way, you may meet up with the Candyman, who is weak against Flame and strong against Bolt and can cast Bolt 1 and Confuse, which can cause you to lose control of your character temporarily. It has a chance of dropping a Slasher, which is more powerful than the Foil Sword but drops your Speed by 10. The Candyman will give you 58 Experience and 202 Gold. Nochoke is strong against Freeze and cast Sleep and Flame 2, but it is incredibly weak and can be destroyed in one hit if you're strong enough. It will give you 56 Experience and 165 Gold, and has a chance of dropping the Plate Shield, which is stronger than any shield you can get in the shops at this point. The Lemonator is weak against Freeze, and gives 52 Experience and 171 Gold. It can attack, but if you're powerful enough, it won't be able to get the chance. It also has some high defense for this point in the game. Finally, the Pigninja is strong against Freeze and cast Shove, and gives 65 Experience and 214 Gold. It also has a chance of dropping an Epee, which is stronger than even the Katana, which you'll be able to get in the next shop.

As soon as you enter Nutmeg Village, an air warning siren will sound due to an approaching toxic fog, and a man named Pappu in a nearby house will take you into his home to keep you away from the fog. While you're indoors, Pappu will tell you that poisonous fog flows from Crater Lake, and that the siren warns when the fog moves towards the village. He will also tell you that Crater Lake has been polluted from Bio-Haz's agents throwing toxic waste into it, and that the fog flows out of it from time to time. As a result, the Power Water has been horribly tainted, and the only way to fix everything is with a neutralizing agent, but the effect of it is not quite powerful enough, and in order to use the neutralizing agent, it must be thrown into the lake while the wind is calm. Truffle will take the neutralizing agent and research it in order to make it more potent, and will tell Sam to go to other villages and gather information while she stays behind and gets to work on making a more powerful neutralizing agent.

When you leave the house, another person will show up and tell you that in Hothot Village, the people are having an ultrahot of high speed, then leave. You can still talk to the people while you are here, but the siren will still sound, and if you do not get into a building fast enough, you will start losing health. Once you go in a building, you can then leave to go back to whatever you were doing as soon as the siren stops. You won't be able to enter every building, as one of them will be locked with a poster saying that the person inside does not want to be here anymore. If you want to spend more time in the village without having to deal with the siren, just keep ducking in and out of buildings every so often. You'll hear it less often then.

At the armory, get the Copper Shield, the Bronze Helmet and the Katana and equip them. If you managed to get an Epee from a Pigninja outside of the building, you won't need the Katana. At the magic shop, get Power. Power will increase your physical attack power during battle, and is good to have in boss battles.

Southeast of Nutmeg Village is Hothot Village. The people will not be able to help you due to their ultrahot of high speed, and the stores will not even be open. If you can talk to the people, they will tell you that by just nibbling the Ultrahot Flower with blooms deep down in the forest, which you'll need to enter pretty soon, and one of them will give you the password of "Viva Megahot" to gain entry into the forest.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 9 of 28

In this entry, we bring an end to the Dragon Jail, make some Vader references, and enter yet another land.

Now that you have the Golden Pepper, you can head back to the lake and buy a boat to travel to the other side for 500 Gold. This time, when you approach the dragon, which is known as the Wif Worm, you'll be able to fight it and defeat it. Just keep hitting it with physical attacks, as it cannot be damaged with magic. You'll earn 450 Experience and 1200 Gold.

At the other side of the lake, you'll reach the Dragon Jail. The black areas are The Saltpork only has physical attack, and gives 38 Experience and 80 Gold. It also has a chance of dropping a Sword.

The Silence spell stops enemies from casting spells temporarily when cast.

You'll eventually find where everyone is working, and when you talk to the NPC's here, you'll find out that they've all been enslaved by Sarg, who is working for Bio-Haz, and forced to mine for stones that are sources of high toxins. You'll also find out that Dr. Bromide and Springroll are in solitary confinement. You'll find out that Sarg is upstairs from here, and you'll soon run into him.

Sarg has 600 HP and is weak against Freeze magic. He can also cast Poison do a little extra damage to you in addition to Dodging and casting Power, which increases the power of his strikes. Be ready to heal if your HP is under 100. He gives 350 Experience and 400 Gold when defeated, and can drop a Med 2-10 scroll. You'll also be able to get the Regain 1 out of the nearby chest.

Beyond Sarg, you'll find the solitary confinement cell, where you will find Springroll and Dr. Bromide. Bromide will give you a document of what he knows about Bio-Haz, and asks you to show it to Princess Truffle in the land of Curry so she can reveal Bio-Haz's weakness. He will tell Springroll to look after Lolly Pop, then pass on before the mine collapses.

You'll be back in Herbal Village, where Springroll thanks you for your help before telling you that you must go beyond the nearby Chcolanma Mountains. He will then give you the Mountain Gear. The sign telling you about the mountain will be directly west of Herbal Village, and if you read it, you'll have a choice of whether you want to climb the mountains. If you pick yes, you'll climb past them, but you'll lose the Mountain Gear and you'll be stuck in the land of Curry.

Cinnamon Village is the first place you'll be able to go to. At the armory, you can get a Foil and a Copper Helmet, and at the magic shop, you can get the Bolt 2, which does more damage than Bolt 1 at the same MP cost. You can also buy Med 2 scrolls at the magic shop, if you wish. According to the NPC's, you'll find Truffle at the inn. You'll also learn about the Power Water, which is a source of power for the people of Curry. Another NPC will also tell you about a man in the Pipe Valley to the south named Ralph Vader (an obvious reference to American environmentalist politician Ralph Nader).

One of the NPC's will offer you a special curry to eat. If you eat it, you'll run around the world map at fast speed before learning about the Ultra Hot Flower, which has a more intense heat to it.

At the inn, there is a man blocking a door upstairs. If you talk to him, he will know that you are here to show the note from Dr. Bromide, and he will let you in. You'll finally meet Truffle, who tells you that Bio-Haz's main power source is toxin, which explains why people who were sent to the Dragon Jail were forced to mine for them until they died, and that Bio-Haz pollutes this world in order to get more power. She also mentions that things that are pure, like Power Water, are Bio-Haz's weakness, then tells you about Ralph Vader down in Pipe Valley, who will know about the purest thing in the world that can be used against Bio-Haz. From here, she will join you.

Outside of Cinnamon, you can face new enemies. Slimy is weak against Flame magic, and it can also cast Slip, which causes you to slip and fall and be stunned for a while. It gives 46 Experience and 121 Gold upon defeat. The Lavamp can cast Bolt 1 and is strong against Bolt Magic, and gives 44 Experience and 109 Gold upon defeat. Tatertoe can cast Shove much like the enemies that it looks like, but it's not that much stronger, and gives 39 Experience and 118 Gold as well as a chance of dropping a Tin Helmet. Bamboobe has a chance of dropping an Alloy Helmet, which is much stronger than even the Copper helmet you've seen so far and will last you until the next continent and is even better than the 43 Experience and 157 Gold it gives upon defeat. Comsoup can cast Stick and leave you stuck temporarily in addition to being able to Dodge, and drops 42 Experience and 136 Gold when beaten. It also has a chance of dropping a Regain 1.

Truffle can sometimes scan enemies and find weaknesses, and when she does, a stat can go down, such as speed, offense or defense. This can be useful when fighting enemies and makes them even easier to finish off, especially if you are underleveled.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 8 of 28

In this entry, we head to the Kim Chee camp now that someone the Kim Chee trust are with us, and we take on our second dungeon.

Now that you have Lolly Pop with you, you can now enter the village of the Kim Chee tribe. From here, you can talk to everyone. The inn is to the left of the entrance, and the magic shop is to the right. Flame 2 and Freeze 2 can be bought here; both of them are more powerful versions of the Flame and Freeze 1 spells from earlier, but they use the same amount of MP as their weaker versions (5 for Flame, 7 for Freeze). Because of this, keeping the weaker versions of the spells is completely unnecessary. The armory is to the northeast, and you can buy the Tin Shield to replace the Leather Shield.

As you talk to everyone here, you'll find out that there is a food supply problem within the village, and that Nikninja kicked them out of where they originally lived near the oasis. You'll also find out that they know about the Golden Pepper and that they can find it out in the desert.

The hut in the northwest corner is where you need to go. You'll not only find the Push spell, which inflicts the "Falling" status on enemies and stuns them for a while, but you'll also find the chief. Lolly Pop will mention that we need the Golden Pepper, and if we can destroy Nikninja in the castle of Oasis to the south, he will give it to us. He will mention that he took their castle there and did it for Bio-Haz, then asks if you accept this mission. Say yes, and he will give you the key to the castle.

To get around, you'll need to ride on the rafts that float along the water on specific paths. If you don't see one, look around for one and see where it goes, then get on it once you're able to. From here, you'll need to wait until you get close to where you need to get off, then move accordingly.

The Weiner is weak against Flame magic. It drops 28 Experience and 72 Gold. The Chikstik is also weak against Flame magic, and can cast Fly as well as Fire 1. It can also Dodge attacks It gives 30 Experience and 76 Gold, and has a chance of dropping a Sword, which is basically free money at this point.

You'll find the Tin Helmet in one of the chests here, in case you couldn't get one earlier.

Regain 1 restores 30 MP when used.

Eventually, you'll have to ride a raft down a couple of waterfalls in order to continue your journey. You'll need to do this to face Nikninja. Nikninja has 450 HP and 80 MP, and can cast Freeze 1. If you can cast Flame before he casts Freeze, the two spells can counter each other out, and neither person will damage each other. Physical attacks can also work, but watch your HP and heal when necessary, and cast Flame 2 if he keeps Dodging. When you beat him, he will give 250 Experience and 300 Gold, and will also have a chance of dropping a Med 1-10 scroll.

Nikninja will growl and die, and you'll be booted out of the castle so you can freely exit. Heal up and sell what you don't need, then talk to the chief again now that Nikninja is defeated to get the Golden Pepper. You can now cross the lake with the boat and defeat the Dragon, and the Kim Chee people will no longer have a hunger problem now that they can return to the castle.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 7 of 28

Who's ready to NOT go to jail?

North of Herbal Village is the town of Tuna. When you enter the town for the first time, the women near the law making machine - yes, that's actually what it's called - tells you that you get to make the laws for today. You'll be taken to the law making machine, where you can change the three major laws for the day just by pressing the A button. The laws can keep you from exiting from certain directions, talking to the guards and entering certain buildings. Notice that you can't change the third law, which is "Talk To Guard." We're going to have to fix that. When you change the laws, a soldier hauls somebody off to jail, and you're forced to watch this every time you change the laws.

If you break a law, a guard runs up to you and demands a 200 gold fine. If you select yes, you'll play the fine; if you select no, then the guard threatens to take you to jail. If you select yes, you go to jail; if you select no, the guard leaves you alone. If you go to jail, you'll be let go when you press A on the cell bars, but you'll be booted out of town and your HP will be cut in half.

At the armory, buy the Scimitar. If you have the money, buy the Tin Helmet; otherwise, you'll have to wait until a little later to get a Tin Helmet for free.

In the house behind the magic shop, there will be a woman who wants to give something to her son in the jail, and notes that the law that keeps you from talking to the guard never change, and suspects that there may be a fault in the machinery. She will ask you to repair it. Say yes, and she will thank you before giving you 1500 gold.

In one of the other houses, the NPC's will tell you that the previous mayor has disappeared and that Sarg is now the town leader.

The jail is in the northeast corner, but if you talk to the guard there, you'll get yelled at again, so don't. Instead, head back to the law making machine and talk to the girl blocking the door. For 500 gold, you can enter the building and fix the machine. Pay the 500 gold, then go in, walk up to the left switch and press A. You'll find out there is a lever. Raise it to fix everything. If you want, you can mess with the other levers so that you can keep laws that don't bother you alone. The center switch is for the second law, while the right switch is for the first.

From there, you can change the laws by talking to the girl at the right side of the law making machine and paying 100 gold. This time, you'll be able to change the third law so talking to the guard does not get you in trouble. The guards outside don't tell you anything important, but the guards in the bigger house in the northwest corner will tell you that Sarg is out and that Sarg has set everything up the way that it is to keep peace in the town. A talk from the NPC's would clearly tell them they are not at peace.

Now that talking to the guards is no longer illegal, you can enter the jail in the northeast corner and talk to the guard to get access. Once you go down the stairs, you'll be able to talk to the woman from earlier, and her son will be able to tell you, should you face him and press A, that Dr. Bromide has been taken out of the town and to the Dragon Jail. Another person in another cell will tell you that those who have been taken to the Dragon Jail have ever returned, and yet another will tell you that the Dragon Jail is by the lake to the north, and that it is a scary place.

Fire Bug is weak against Freeze Magic and is strong against Fire Magic, and can cast Fire 1, which can do quite a bit of damage if it hits. It leaves 18 Experience and 66 Gold after defeat, and has a chance of dropping a Med 1-5 scroll.

Near the lake to the north is a boat house. The guy running the boat house tells you that there is a chance that you can get attacked by dragons and/or get lost if you get a boat. You'll also be told that without the Golden Pepper, the dragon will destroy you. If that is understood, then a boat is 500 gold. Do not get a boat yet; you will be wiped out if you do. If you select no, the guy at the counter will tell you that the Kim Chee tribe knows about the Golden Pepper. The Kim Chee tribe is to the west of the lake, but you won't be able to enter the village, as the guard will tell you that they only trust Dr. Bromide and his daughter before shoving you out.

The Mel Mult is strong against Freeze magic and has a chance of running away. It has a chance of dropping a Med 2-5 scroll and gives 22 Experience and 68 Gold.

From here, you'll need to head back to Herbal Village and talk to Lolly Pop. When she finds out that her father as well as Spring Roll are both in Dragon Jail, she will join you. From here, you'll need to take her to the Kim Chee tribe. If you talk to her with the Party option in the status menu, she will tell you. On the way, Lolly Pop can randomly heal you during the battle, which is very nice.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 6 of 28

In this entry, we finally beat Crabby, then head down to a new land.

Back at Shishkebab, you'll need to talk to Crabby once you have both the plans and the family tree. When you do that, you'll expose Crabby for who he really is - one of Bio-Haz's men - and you'll have to destroy him.

Crabby has 300 HP, and he can cast Freeze 1, Bolt 1 and Sleep on you. He is also strong against Flame magic, so you can't hit him with Flame. You can use physical attacks as well as Freeze 1 to attack him. Heal up if your HP hovers anywhere near 30. Beating Crabby nets you 50 Experience and 200 Gold, and there is a chance he could drop a Med 2 scroll. Crabby tells Sam that there will be a time in his life where he will be cursed, then dies. You'll then met with Cabbage Head, who is basically re-elected at this point, then Cup Cake will tell you that you need to report to Dr. Bromide and that you must get to the gate at the border.

If you took the bribe from Crabby earlier, someone will immediately show up and take 500 Gold away from you as soon as you leave Cabbage Head's house. If you didn't, this does not occur.

Lola Leftover will come back to her home after you come back to Shishkebab and beat Crabby.

The border is north of Shishkebab, and you can fight Hedworms and Artchokes. When you reach the door, you'll automatically cross the border. Cup Cake will stay behind to keep a look out for Bio-Haz in the nation of Sushi, then give you her Pendant, which is placed in the Collar.

You'll then be in the nation of Chow Mein. Herbal Village will be very close, and Dr. Bromide's house will be in the center of town. The villagers will tell you that Dr. Bromide is a very capable doctor, and that in the town of Tuna to the northeast, the laws change every day. You'll also learn the names of two people who are going to be important very soon: Springroll and Lolly Pop.

You'll be able to buy the Leather Armor, which is better than the Wood Armor, at the store, so do that. You can also buy a Med 2 scroll as well as Bolt 1 for lightning damage at the magic shop. Bolt can also inflict the "Shocked" status ailment, which stops an enemy from moving temporarily.

When you enter the big house in the north end of town, you'll meet Lolly Pop, Dr. Bromide's daughter. She will tell you that the good doctor is not here, and has been called by Sarg of Tuna to come to the town of Tuna and has not returned from since. Springroll will show up and tell Lolly Pop that Dr. Bromide has been jailed in Tuna, then heads to Tuna against Lolly Pop's wishes.

As for monsters outside of Herbal Village, Meakmush has almost 200 HP, and is weak against Freeze magic. Beating Meakmush will net you 20 Experience and 31 Gold, but keep in mind that it will take a while early in the game to beat one up. Onionhed can cast Poison, which can do a little bit of damage randomly. Defeating it gives 18 Experience and 53 Gold. Be ready to heal as well as end the battle as quickly as possible, as Poison only wears off either on its own or at the end of a battle. Frankbite is strong against Freeze magic and gives 14 Experience and 55 Gold, and has a chance of dropping a Med 1-5 scroll.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 5 of 28

At last, it's time for our first dungeon. By the time we're done, we'll be able to expose Crabby!

Northeast of Teapot Village is the abandoned record factory. If you tried to come here earlier in the game, you couldn't enter this place, but now that you know from Professor Condante that you kick the door, you can.

Going down the stairs near the start of this area leads to a dark area. You won't be able to explore this area yet, so just head east once you enter the Record Factory.

Topheavy can Fly, making it harder to hit. If you're at Level 9, this enemy is easy to beat. By the time you reach Level 10, however, you'll be able to beat this enemy as well as the other new enemies without getting hit. 14 Experience and 27 Gold comes from beating this enemy, and there is a chance that it will drop Heal 1 or a Leather Shield.

Artchoke can cast Flame 1, so be careful, even at Level 9. Artchoke can also put you to Sleep, and you'll have to wait to wake up before you can attack again. It gives 12 Experience and 22 Gold, and has a chance of dropping a Med 1-10 scroll.

Loli Dog is strong agast Freeze and can cast Stick, which can tangle you up in place temporarily and make it harder to attack. It gives 6 Experience and 26 Gold, and it can drop Cloth armor, which is useless.

Yam Jam can Dodge and cast Shove much like the Spud Bud, but it's just a slightly stronger version otherwise. It gives 8 Experience and 28 Gold, and can drop a Dagger, which you won't need.

I use Med 1 during battle and Heal 1 outside of it. This allows me to save MP for when I really need to use it.

The big records on the floor will spin you around, but if you walk onto the stylus when it comes your way, you can ride to the other side and get to where you need to go. You'll need to do this twice to get to an old woman, who reveals herself as Lola Leftover, who has resorted to singing in the factory after her stardom disappeared and the hits dried up. She is surprised that you have heard of her, and asks to sing a song. Let her sing her song, and you'll get the Debut Album.

Lola Leftover will then tell you that she sees suspicious people who have mentioned Crabby walk down to the basement of the factory, which is the dark area down the stairs at the beginning of the building. She will give you a Lantern, and there, you will be able to head back to the beginning, go down the stairs and be able to see where you're going this time. You can walk on the big records to get back to the beginning more quickly.

Once you go through the double door, you'll find Crabby's minions, who reveal that the Happy Factory is actually going to be a polluting factory and that they will begin the operation once Crabby wins the election. This leads you fighting two Gremlins, much like the grunt at the beginning of the game. Just keep striking with physical attacks at this point. Each Gremlin gives you 30 Experience and 70 Gold.

When you win both battles, you'll get a Document exposing Crabby's plans, then you'll be able to leave the Record Factory. If you need to, head back to Teapot Village on the way back to Shishkebab to heal up and sell any excess items you don't need. From there, you'll need to head back to Condante Forest and talk to Professor Condante to give him the Debut Album. Condante will take the album and exchange it for the Crab family's Family Tree, but not before revealing that Crabby's name is nowhere to be found on it. With this and the Document, you can now expose Crabby's true identity. From here, you can head back to Shishkebab.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 4 of 28

In this entry, we explore more of the Kingdom of Sushi and find out that we have to do the most pointless of tasks in order to get the help we need.

From Shishkaburg, you'll want to go east. You'll still be fighting Eye Cakes and Ropers, but you'll also be fighting Sprouts. They are slightly stronger, but they are still a cakewalk if you're at Level 5, and they also give more experience and money (three experience, thirteen gold) than the other monsters. Just like the Eye Cakes and Ropers, Sprouts are also weak to Freeze, but you still don't have that yet, and even if you did have it, there would be no point in using magic against them if you can just whack them all once and win every time. You'll also be fighting the Spud Bud, which is strong against Freeze (not that it matters) and can also use Shove against you. If Shove hits, it does a little more damage than a regular attack. Spud Buds leave three experience and fifteen gold when defeated, and they also have a chance of dropping a Hat, which is the weakest headgear in the game.

At Teapot Village, you'll want to buy and equip the Leather Shield, as it is better than what you have right now. You'll also want to buy and equip the Helmet for the same reason. Don't forget to sell what you take off. In the village, you'll find out that a few people are coughing and that the forest to the south, and that there is a sad singing voice to the north, where the factory is, and that smoke is emanating from that factory.

Speaking of Freeze, you'll also be able to get it here. Freeze 1 costs 7 MP to cast and does Freeze damage, and can also temporarily stop the enemy with the Frozen status ailment. You can also fall victim to that status ailment, so be careful against any foes with magic.

Around Teapot Village, you'll face the Pop Pup. It is weak against against Flame magic, especially Flame 1, but it can easily be defeated if you keep smacking it with whatever weapon you have. They give two experience points and twelve gold, and they also have a chance of dropping a Knife. Since this is the weapon you started the game with, you don't need it, so sell it if you get it. The Pop Pup can also Dodge, which causes you to do less damage to it, should your attack connect.

South of Teapot Village is the Condante Forest. This area is pretty straightforward; just head towards the big tree with the ladder in it. As for enemies, you'll meet a new one here: Pudinhead. This pudding with hands gives you five experience points and twenty gold when defeated, but it can also cast Drain, which can lower your attack power temporarily if it connects, and if it does connect, it does not go away until the battle ends. You'll want to take it out as quickly as possible, and being Level 6 will definitely help with that.

You'll also face the Hedworm. The Hedworm gives you 6 experience points and 28 experience points, and at 64 HP, it has the most HP of all the enemies you've seen so far (minus the Bio-Haz Hunter grunt at the beginning of the game), making that experience worth it. While it was easy for me to beat up with physical attacks at Level 6, it is also weak to Freeze. I just stick to physical attacks.

Inside the big tree is Professor Condante, who wants nothing to do with you and does not want to help you until Cup Cake mentions her mission to expose Crabby for who he really is. The Professor reluctantly changes his mind and agrees to help under one condition: that we find Lola Leftover's debut album for his record collection at the abandoned record factory to the north, and in order to get through the entrance, which is rusted shut, you'll need to kick the bottom of the door. This will allow you to get into the factory. Wait, seriously? We're doing this? Right now?

After this, head back out of the forest, and if you need to, head back to Teapot Village to get ready for the factory to the north.

PrinceWatercress plays Great Greed - Part 3 of 28

In this entry, we take our first trek through the game's overworld map, show off the enemies we can fight along the way, and try to help a mayor win the election against a sketchy rich guy.

To the north of the first village of the game is Shishkaburg. Along the way, you'll face enemies.

The Roper gives you only one experience at twelve gold. If you reach Level 5, they won't be able to attack you at all. The Eye Cake can hit you for more damage, and gives you ten gold instead of the Roper's twelve, but if you're at Level 5, it won't attack you, either. Both enemies are weak to Freeze, even though you don't have that yet. The Eye Cake also has a chance of dropping a Med 1-5 scroll, although item drops are uncommon and do not always happen. The Ropes drop nothing, however.

At Shishkaburg, you'll find out that the town is in the middle of an election. Crabby is the challenger, while Cabbage is the incumbent mayor. So far, Crabby seems to be winning. Crabby is making promises regarding a favtor.

Teapot Village is to the east, Condante Forest is to the south of Teapot Village, and an abandoned record factory to the north. As a matter of fact, famed singer Lola Leftover's house is here, but Lola is not.

Sleep will put enemies to sleep, keeping them from doing anything. It costs 5 MP to use. The Sword and the Wood Armor is better than what you have.

The house with the sign with the picture of the cabbage above it Mayor Cabbage's house. Cabbage wants to protect the natural beauty of the Land of Sushi. Meanwhile, Crabby's much bigger mansion is to the east of that and has a bigger picture of a crab on top. Unlike Cabbage, who has his wife with him, Crabby has four people in his mansion who love and adore him. There is also a girl off to the side, and if you talk to her before you leave, she will catch up with you back in the town. She will recognize Calorie's collar, and introduce herself as Cup Cake. She will tell you that Crabby is an agent of Bio-Haz, and that she needs your help exposing him. You might as well.

Cup Cake will join you. Head back to Cabbage's house, and you'll find out that Crabby is winning the election right now. In order to win back the villagers' trust, you'll need to fight five monsters outside of the town. Since we're at level five, this will be super easy. Cup Cake will cheer you on throughout the battle, but she will not do much else.

There is a whiteboard at the north end of town, and you can see that to see the current election results. Not like it matters. When you go to it after defeating five monsters, the tide will turn towards Cabbage's favor, but only for a moment, as Crabby wins the people by promising something good to anyone who comes to his home. If you go to Crabby's home and talk to the woman left of Crabby, she will offer you 100 gold, and you can take it. If you take it, however, something will happen later.

Once you look at the whiteboard, you'll have to fight seven monsters in another attempt to win the people back. When you do that, go back to the whiteboard and look at it again. Once again, Cabbage will have the advantage, but it will only last for a moment, and Cup Cake says that the only way for Cabbage to win now is to expose Crabby's identity. She will mention that there is a professor specializing in family trees in family trees in Condante Forest to the southeast, and you'll have to get more info about Crabby from him.
