Stage 9-5
Get ready to deal with multiple Gossamer clones as you go through the stage. Once you get rid of them all, this stage definitely gets easier.
Also, be ready to pause the game and take a look at the pipes when it comes to the door in the upper-right corner.
Stage 9-6
In case it hasn't become obvious at this point, the levels have become more and more complex at this point.
Finding the sledgehammer as quickly as possible is essential, as it's the only way you will be able to access the right third of the level.
