PrinceWatercress plays EVO: The Search For Eden - Part 14 of 14

Welcome to the final battle between yourself and whatever is causing this whole mess. Who will go on to prosper with Gaia?

Entrance of Eden

In the maze, you'll meet the Dino People. They escaped extinction and evolved with the help of the crystal. Some of them will toss fireballs at you, while others try to kick at you, and others send out Blue Slimes that come after you but thankfully can be defeated (and leave behind 300 EP!). These guys can hurt. The 175 EP the Dino People leave behind are worth it, though.

Your main goal here is to reach the teleporter. This will take you to the final boss. You'll enter a pink room with 8 spheres floating around in a ring. This is Bolbox, and he despises you. He considers himself the one that will make it to Eden and prosper along with Gaia.

For some reason, he believes he is the first human. Then he changes into some freakishly giant single-celled organism (or something)

The Final Battle

Hit his head a few times, and then he'll send out one of his eight spheres, which turns into a creature. Whenever you defeat this creature, you'll be able to get a few more EP and heal yourself.

Bolbox has an attack of his own: the ability to extend his head and whack you for a few points of damage. He also does this as you fight the creatures coming out of the spheres, making some fights harder than they should be at times.

The more EP you have here, the better. You'll need to be able to heal on a moment's notice. Hope you farmed in the maze.

The blue sphere creates a jellyfish. After a few hits, it changes into a giant jellyfish that tries to sting you.

The purple sphere is a red Eagle Man with a sword. If you're a human, knock him out of the air, then get close and keep mashing the attack button to get rid of him.

The red sphere is a giant cockroach. Whack it, then immediately walk away. Jump over it as flies around in a circle, then turn around and whack it again when it's right behind you. There is also a nasty trick to beating this guy, though: trap the giant cockroach on the left side of the room. Whenever the cockroach comes close to the left edge of the room, he just goes straight down. You can easily get behind him and whack him with the axe over and over again if you're a human.

The yellow sphere is a pink palette swap of Debustega from Chapter 2. It even fights with the same strategy, except you don't have platforms to hide above from him with this time. Hit him, then immediately walk away without jumping.

The green sphere is a green ancient fish that swims around in the air. I don't even.

The green sphere is a green ancient fish that swims around in the air. I don't even. And now for something I had to get on GameFAQs, because I had a hard time noticing the pattern and I've only played through this once: you have to get close to the ground before he can bite you, then keep smacking him. You may have to change into something you've recorded that you can get neck extensions on to get the job done. If you want to stay as a human, though, here's a really helpful hint: standing between his head and tail will not hurt you. I've noticed this in other videos, and it helps quite a lot. Just be prepared to run and jump quite a bit.

The white sphere is a little Ikustega. You won't even be able to hurt him. Just let him run to the left.

The orange sphere is a giant Iguanadon. He attacks you with a scream attack. If you're playing as a human, you can get up close and repeatedly whack him until he dies.

The cyan sphere is flashing meat. Eat it! This heals you again and also gives you 1000 EP!

Once you get rid of all eight spheres, whack away at Bolbox one last time. This time, it's the end for him. He basically vanishes from the top down, one molecule at a time.

Once Bulbox disappears, Gaia talks to you one last time. Had Bolbox won, Earth would have no future. She tells you to come forth. Keep walking to the right. There. You've ended the game.

Enjoy your long ending cutscene, where we find out that the Martians were responsible for bringing the crystals to Earth to speed up evolution, failing, and then choosing to wait until Earth is advanced enough to communicate with them before trying again.

You are then bestowed with "Intelligence" in order to create a "Civilization." If used wisely, the Earth will become wonderful. If used unwisely, a harder trial than what you have went through will occur.

Y'know, thinking about real life, I'm wondering...have we created a harder trial already? Drop me a line, somebody.

Your character is welcomed into the Sun Family and enters the Time Trans to Eden, which we never even get a glimpse of. Then the credits roll.
