ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 17 of 17

In this episode, we take care of the last few missions before taking on the 8th Evil Pig again for closure.

Now that we have all the ingredients for the candy, we can now go back and put the last of them in the pot and talk to the cute witch in her house at the Village of All Beginnings. You'll create the Gold Candy and clear the "Let's Make Candy!" objective.

When you go back to the Million-Year-Old Man with all five Gold items, you'll clear the "The 5 Golden Items" objective and get the Psychic Fish, which can make you run faster and jump higher than before when equipped. When equipped, Tomba's skin will be onyx black while his pants and hair will be a silvery white.

Back in Baccus Village, the man to the east of the town square village (the one near the wagon of barrels, not the one right next to the entrance) is one of the seven friends needed to open the door to the Black Evil Pig. Talk to him and he will automatically head there.

The guy in orange that you'll see on the right upon entering the Iron Castle in the Village of Civilization is another of the friends needed to open the door to the Black Evil Pig. Talk to him and he will head to the door automatically.

There is a cave with a bunch of wooden logs to swing on above a pool of water. At the top of this area is another guy, and if you talk to him, he will head to the door to the Black Evil Pig. This is the sixth and last friend you'll be able to find for the "Seven Friends" objective.

Now that you've found the first six friends, go back to The Strange, Small Room. Baron will join the other friends when you bring the first six friends, completing the "Seven Friends" objective and opening the door to the Black Evil Pig. When the door opens, however, you'll immediately enter the door and fight the Black Evil Pig. When you talk to him, you'll find out that he created all of the other Evil Pigs and that he treats the world much like a grand toy box as you meet him in a room littered entirely with gold.

The Black Evil Pig will teleport around the room, and will stun you if are nearby and not quick enough to jump on him before teleporting again. The Black Evil Pig Bag will move up and down on the right side of the room, with the opening facing left. There will be four small platforms in a diamond pattern to stand on while waiting for the Evil Pig. Stay on the left end of the "diamond" and wait for the pig to show up nearby, then be ready to be right on top of him around the time that he stops flashing and becomes solid. Once you throw the Black Evil Pig in the bag, the island where the battle took place will crumble as Tomba flies away on Baron. The four old men will congratulate Tomba on beating the Evil Pigs, then Tomba heads home as the credits roll. "Grandpa's Bracelet" will be completed after the credits sequence.

Now for the last few missions!

Here's one that could have been started all the way back at the beginning of the game, but this is now being done in its entirety. Go back to the hut near the Ol' Pond. You'll find a set of eyes moving about in the window. If you talk to this guy, he will tell you about the Ol' Pond and the 100-Year-Old Man. This triggers the "Who Are You?" objective. From here, you'll need to finish the "Inside The Kokka Eggs" event and get the 100-Year-Old Key, but we've already done this, so we can just talk to the mystery man again. The mystery man will call himself Yan of the Hidden Village. This completes the "Who Are You?" objective and starts the "Hide and Go Seek" objective. Yan will start a game of hide-and-seek where you will need to find him again and get some more information out of him. He then runs off, and you'll need to find him out of nowhere to continue the game.

The next place you need to go to is where the Butterfly Cage used to be in Charity Square. If the cage is still there, he'll be behind it; otherwise, it'll just be him there. If you have Yan's Lunch Box at this point, you'll be able to give it to him, but he will not give it to you and give you two pieces of Cheese in return for not eating it. If you did eat it, you will not get the cheese. This completes the "Take Out" objective. From here, you'll need to find Yan again.

The next location is the smiley face door in Phoenix/Stormy Mountain. If you laugh in front of the door, you'll open it and find Yan. From here, head to the Deep Jungle and get to the wooden platform to the left of the entrance of the Village of Civilization. If you talk to him there, he'll run off again.

This time, head to the Mansion. He will be on the east side behind where the wall made of straw used to be (there should be a laughing man there). When you talk to him, he will run off again.

From here, you'll need to return to Hidden Village. Go all the way to the north and he will be in plain sight. Talk to him, he will tell you about the Flower Tower before giving you the Golden Bowl. This will complete the "Hide and Go Seek" objective. As for the Golden Bowl, it will increase your maximum health beyond eight units assuming you've picked up enough Vitality Max +1's to make it happen.

For the final mission, head back to the Village of All Beginnings. Remember those weird flowers that produced a gas cloud whenever you grabbed one? If you grab one when a Koma Pig is nearby, it will shrink it. You can then jump on it and grab it to get your Baby Pig. Be careful, he might run off and be a bit fast. This will trigger the "Peach Flower Gas" objective. From here, head to Baccus Village and use it as an item in front of the guy who is looking for it. You'll get the Kokka Claw, which you can use for the "Let's Make Candy!" objective had you not completed it yet.

If you're wondering where the last Vitality Max +1 is (which Zonic doesn't get), it's inside a Million Year Old (yellow) Chest in Phoenix/Stormy Mountain. You can find the locations of all the Vitality Max +1 Icons here.

Now that you know where everything is as well as how to do all the missions, go ahead and beat the Black Evil Pig again to get credit for all 130! You've beaten Tomba! with all 130 missions cleared!

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 16 of 17

In this entry, we face the Blue Evil Pig and tie up some loose ends.

The diggers in the Blue Fortune Teller's hut will mention that the thief's tools might be in the (formerly) Haunted Mansion, and that one of their friends is at the Mansion right now. After they ask you to ask that friend about it, you will trigger the "Unbreakable Wire" objective. If you go back to the healing fountain in the Mansion, you'll see a digger. By talking to him, you can find out that he has the unbreakable wire, but he will not give it to you at first before eventually giving it to you. This clears the objective.

The digger just past the door that will not open will you that there is a legendary place where treasures were stored. This triggers the "Underground Treasure" objective.

One of the doors in the Underground Maze leads to the Million-Year-Old Man. He will tell you that the Evil Pigs are collecting gold because gold is the very source of their evil magic, and that the more gold they collect, the more powerful their magic can become. He says that it is too dangerous to allow the Evil Pigs to keep taking gold, which is where evil spirits are said to reside. This will complete the "Source of Evil Magic" objective.

The Million-Year-Old Man will tell you that you must seal the pigs in the Evil Pig Bags (which we've been doing), and that since you've been to all seven lands, it should not be hard to find all of the Evil Pig Bags. From here, it's a matter of fully exploring areas to find all the Evil Pig Bags. You will then get the Million Year Old Key, which will unlock all of the golden chests in the game. He will then wish for all seven Evil Pigs to be sealed away forever. This triggers the "Million Year Old Wish" objective.

Speaking of which, if you have the Blue Evil Pig Bag, you'll find the door to the Blue Evil Pig's lair in the Million-Year-Old Man's room.

After you talk to the Million-Year-Old Man, you'll be able to reach a 100 Year Old chest in the south part of the maze that you couldn't before, had you talked to the digger near it beforehand. By returning to this area after talking to the Million-Yar-Old Man, you'll complete the "Dig Like a Mole" objective. West of here is a red chest that contains a Butamushi Thorn. Get it. You'll need it to make the candy

At the north end of the Underground Maze is a gold chest. Opening it will award you with 300,000 AP and complete the "Underground Treasure" objective.

If you use the Mighty Fish Food in the Ol' Pond, you can summon a fish. Grab the fish to complete the "Mighty Fish Food" objective. There are two other places where you can use it and summon a fish: one of the rooms with water in it at the south side of the Mansion and the Masakari River in the Deep Jungle. If you grab the fish at the Ol' Pond, you'll max out your fire (red) experience. If you grab the fish at the river in the Deep Jungle, you'll max out your water (blue) experience. If you grab the fish at the mansion, you'll max out your green (wind) experience.

The Blue Evil Pig will shoot mushroom spores at you while giant wheels will roll back and forth across the level. To beat the Blue Evil Pig, stay in the middle and use any Gems you have to avoid damage from the wheels and spores. When the Blue Evil Pig gets close enough, jump on him, then throw him into the Evil Pig Bag at the center of the room once you can throw the Blue Evil Pig into the opening. When you beat the Blue Evil Pig, the 100 Flower Forest will no longer be cursed.

When you beat all seven Evil Pigs, you'll be teleported to the Strange, Small Room in the Underground Maze, where the Million-Year-Old Man will be waiting for you. You'll also get a Black Evil Pig Bag, which completes the "The 8th Evil Pig Bag?" and "Million Year Old Wish" objectives. The door to the Black Evil Pig is here in this room, but you won't be able to open it yet. The Million-Year-Old Man will tell you there is one more Evil Pig, and to get to him, you'll need to find seven friends to step on the floor switches after the first seven Evil Pigs become unsealed and fly away to meet the eighth. This triggers the "The Real Evil Pig" objective and the "Seven Friends" objective.

Head back to Dwarf Village and go back to the Dwarf Elder's house. There will now be a golden flower nearby, since you planted the seed before beating the first seven Evil Pigs and beat the Blue Evil Pig. This will complete the "Plant a Flower Garden" objective, and you can pick up the Gold Flower. (Note: I've since found out that once you plant the seed, you have to complete six events for the flower to bloom.)

If you go back to the Mushroom Forest, you can take on two Yellow Bonsugee. If you blind both of them by jumping into them from the side, you can throw one of them into the other and damage both of them. If you can do this three times, you'll be able to get a Tear Bottle and complete the "I Need a Tear Bottle" objective.

There is a dwarf you can find in the Mushroom Forest near the Leaf Slider exit. If you talk to him, he will tell you that he came to get some Flower Tears to revive the Charity Fountain in Charity Square, yet he does not know how to get any Flower Tears. This triggers the "Tears from a Flower" objective. Now that you have the Tear Jar and the Rise and Shine Powder, equip the Tear Jar, then find the giant yellow flower in the Mushroom Forest. Use the Rise and Shine Powder on this flower, then equip the Tear Jar if you haven't already and position yourself so a tear falls into the jar. This clears the "Tears from a Flower" objective. From here, head back to Charity Square and go to Charity Fountain, then use the Flower Tears. You will fix the fountain and clear the "The Broken Fountain" objective. You'll also get a cutscene of a giant flower growing, then get the "the Flower Tower" objective. Some of the fountain angels (who are actually looking down at the ground peeing) will fly off, and you'll be able to enter the tower...provided you have 1,000,000 AP. If you do, you'll be able to enter the tower, climb up to the top and get the Sacred Fish, which allows you to move fast. To go back down, just hop into the hole in the center like you would a background wall.

The Jewel of Wind is acquired at this point, completing the "Green Hidden Powers" objective.

If you head back to the Village of Civilization entrance, you'll notice there are two guards. The guard on the right is one of the friends you need for the "Seven Friends" objective. He will be back at the Strange, Small Room if you need him. From here, go left to where the caged Bonsugee is. Talk to the guy who is near the table. He is another friend needed for the "Seven Friends" objective.

The gold chest near the Old Tree contains a gem that gives you 500,000 AP.

If you talk to the 10,000-Year-Old Man, he will tell you about the Psychic Fish that he has in his collection of fish, then says he will be willing to give it to you if you can give him five golden items. These items are:

  • Golden Candy: the candy that the cute witch makes for you
  • Golden Flower: the flower that results from the seed that is planted before the first seven Evil Pigs are defeated
  • Golden Fruit: give ten pieces of Cheese to the one villager in Baccus Village who is looking for them
  • Golden Leaf Butterfly: Find the 29 Leaf Butterflies for the cage above Charity Fountain
  • Golden Medal: get the best time on the Motocross Course

This triggers the "The 5 Golden Items" objective.

From here, jump on the parrot near the Old Tree to ask the Old Tree about the Golden items. This will complete the "Tree of Knowledge Knows" objective.

The Jewel of Water in the Math Bead maze in Trick Village is acquired here, completing the "Blue Hidden Powers" objective.

The gold chest in Phoenix Mountain contains the Iron Boomerang, and the gold chest in the Seaside Mountain contains three 1-Ups.

If you back to the jail cell near the Dwarf Elder's hut, you'll meet the thief that was locked up. You'll find out that the dwarves let him go, then he will leave. (This will happen after you complete the "Look and See?!" objective.) If you head back to the entrance to the Dwarf Village where the Watch Tower area entrance is, you'll be able to race him. The thief will tell you that he hid a treasure at the top of the Watch Tower, and whoever gets there first wins the treasure. This triggers the "Ready, Set, Go!" objective. You'll then follow him automatically to the Watch Tower, and from here, you'll need to make it to the watch tower, then go up the ladder to where the telescope is before the thief does. You'll get the Silver Powder, which you'll need to make the Golden Candy. This also completes the "Ready, Set, Go!" objective.

At the Dwarf Village, the guy in gray near the hut to the north is another friend for the "Seven Friends" objective. Talk to him to get him to go to the 8th Evil Pig door.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 15 of 17

In this entry, we face off against two more Evil Pigs as the amount of things we can do left in the game gets whittled down.

Now that you have the Yellow Evil Pig Bag, you can now access the door leading to the Yellow Evil Pig if you go up to the bell at the top of the Clock Tower at the Village of Civilization.

The Yellow Evil Pig will use his staff to drag you towards him to deal some damage, and he will also shoot shell missiles at you. In-between attacks, he will teleport in and out of the room. Stay away from him as his staff flashes, and avoid the missiles.

To beat the Yellow Evil Pig, let the current carry you to the center of the whirlpool and wait for the Yellow Evil Pig to teleport into the room close to you, Get above him (or let him appear below you), then press X to drop on him. From there, throw him into the bag, which rotates around the room counter-clockwise with the opening facing the whirlpool. Once you beat the Yellow Evil Pig, Trick Village will no longer be flooded.

The red chest next to the entrance to the Village of Civilization contains Flash Pants, which are red and make you faster.

The red chest near the Old Tree in the Deep Jungle contains the Navy Evil Pig Bag. If you go back to the Seaside Mansion, you won't be able to go up anymore; instead, you'll see that the other opening is open and it will take you downstairs into a dining room where the door to the Navy Evil Pig is hidden.

The Navy Evil Pig - and the only noticeably female evil pig of the game - teleports in and out while tossing bags. If you touch the bags, they will burst into smoke and hurt you. Meanwhile, the Evil Pig Bag moves up and down on the right side of the room, rotating counter-clockwise in the process. If you can jump on the evil pig and throw it into the ag, it's over. The Deep Jungle will turn into a beautiful forest when you win this battle, and not only will the sky be a bright blue, but the people of the Masakari Jungle will no longer hurt you. The cages will not even be a death trap anymore. Also, once you beat this pig, you can't enter the dining room ever again.

If you give ten pieces of Cheese to the man in Baccus Village looking for Cheese, you'll get the Golden Fruit. You'll also clear the "Some Cheese Please" objective.

The red chest all the way to the left in the Charity Square area contains a gem worth 100,000 AP.

If you go back to the Phoenix's nest, there will be a green jewel to the right of the next. Touching it before you have maximum Wind (green) experience will trigger the "Green Hidden Powers" objective.

A good amount of red chests in the game contain 1-Ups, so go back for them and find them if you can.

There is a cave with a "Danger" sign next to it. If you enter it after beating the Red Evil Pig, you'll complete the "When The Wind Dies Down..." objective. Inside is a Large Lunch Box.

There is a rock to the left of the watch tower in the Dwarf Forest area. If you push the rock to the left, it will hit a see-saw and send the monster on it flying upwards into a pink puffball, revealing the Dirty Mirror. This could have been done much earlier in the game, but it only gets done now. Go down and get the Dirty Mirror. Head back to the Cute Witch in the Village of All Beginnings and talk to her, now that you have the three crystal balls and the mirror. You'll clear the "What The Witch Lost..." objective. Leave, then go back to get the Magic Mirror. You'll complete the "A Magic Mirror?" objective. Talk to the Cute Witch again, and you'll use the Magic Mirror to combine the Grapple and Blackjack to create the GrappleJack, which is a Grapple with a much longer range. This will complete the "Power Up for Tools?!" objective.

If you leave and enter again and talk to the Cute Witch, you'll find out she has a cold. This triggers the "Take Two of These" objective. Use the Cold Medicine that you have as an item to complete the objective and get a Vitality Max +1.

By using the ingredients for the Golden Candy into the pot, the Cute Witch will tell you what ingredients you need to complete it. Once you put the Biting Plant Flower in the pot, you'll complete the "Biting Plant Flower" objective.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 14 of 17

There's a lot of treasure chests that we have yet to open. Let's open them.

At the bottom of the water in Trick Village is a maze. You'll need to go through it to get all ten Math Beads. Watch out for the fish, and remember that there are walls that you can move assuming you can swim into them in certain directions. There is not only an entrance to the maze at the bottom, but also an entrance at the very top. When you talk to the 10,000-Year-Old Man with all ten Math Beads, you'll clear the "The Ten Math Beads" objective, and he will give you the 10,000 Year Old Key. He will also tell you to ask the Million Year Old Man for the story of the Evil Pigs, then give you the Thief's Wire to open the Underground Maze, and you'll trigger the "Source of Evil Magic" objective. The 10,000-Year-Old Man will also mention that the Million Year Old Man lives in the Underground Maze underneath the Watch Tower.

At the bottom of the maze is a blue crystal. If you touch it, you'll trigger the "Blue Hidden Powers" objective. This is the Jewel of Water, and you'll need to fill up on Water (Blue) Experience to pick it up. When you get enough Water Experience, you can grab it and complete the objective.

The Blue Chests here mostly contain Charity Wings, but one has a Large Lunch Box. With the 10,000 Year Old Key, you can open the red treasure boxes, and one of them near the lower-right corner of the maze next to where Math Bead 6 was is the Yellow Evil Pig Bag. This completes the "The Underwater Pig Bag" objective. You can find also find a 100,000 AP gem and a Vitality Max +1 with the 10,000 Year Old Key as well. The 10,000 Year Old Key opens up all the red chests in the game.

The red chest at the Ol' Pond contains the 10,000 Year Old Bell. Use this to return to Trick Village. At the Village of All Beginnings, you can get a Lunch Box.

In the Watch Tower area, use the Bucket as an item to put it on Tomba's back, then use it to catch three droplets of water in three different spots. When you do this, you'll have the Bucket of Water. Use this on the fire in the Dwarf Forest to get the Baked Yam that is left behind. Give it to the woman near the entrance to the Dwarf Village and you'll clear the "Something's Cookin'?" objective and actually get a "Pull my finger..." joke complete with a fart sound before getting a Vitality Max +1.

The red chest . Also, if you defeat the enemy nearby, you'll get Flower Seeds and trigger the "Flower Seeds" objective. Go to the Dwarf Elder's house and talk to the dwarf in green. This is the Dwarf Child, who wants to grow flowers in the garden, as there were plenty of seeds around before the Evil Pigs took over. Use the Flower Seeds to give him the seeds and complete the objective to get another one: "Plant a Flower Garden."

If you walk into the elevator after making it appear in the Watch Tower area, you'll clear the "What Is This?" objective. You'll then enter a top-down underground forest maze, which also completes the "What's Under the Forest?" objective.

The blue chest to the south of the entrance contains the Needlegator Teeth, which you'll need for the cute witch's candy. To the west is the digger, who is digging through a wall to create another path. If you talk to him, you will trigger the "Dig Like a Mole" objective. North of the entrance is a 100 Year Old Chest with Cheese in it. The person to the west of that chest will tell you that there is a fortune teller in the maze who requires a lot of AP points to talk to. This triggers the "The Blue Fortune Teller" objective.

To the west of the Needlegator Teeth chest is a red chest containing another Cheese. South of that is another red chest containing Cold Medicine. There is another digger to the west of that, and there is a wooden door that you cannot open unless you have the Thief's Wire. Using the Thief's Wire on the door will complete the "The Thief's Door" objective.

There is a house to the east of the opening, and inside is the Blue Fortune Teller, who will only give you hints if you have a lot of AP. Talk to him to clear the "The Blue Fortune Teller" objective, and learn that "Blue is the beachside door, orange is the deep jungle, yellow is the guard of time, and that the remaining blue is here somewhere in the Underground Maze." These are hints as to where the Evil Pig Doors are, assuming you have the respective bags for them. The fortune teller will then tell you to see the Million Year Old Man first, then give you a Vitality Max +1.

West of the hut is another blue chest with Cheese in it, another with a Biting Plant Flower, a 100-Year-Old Chest with a Lunch Box, and a red chest with Charity Wings. North of the hut is a red chest with a Kokka Claw, another 100-Year-Old Chest with Cheese and a blue chest with a Lunch Box.

The opening in the west end of the maze takes you back to the Village of All Beginnings.

The floor opening in the north end of the maze takes you to a blue chest with Cheese. Entering the opening in the wall to the west of it takes you to The Strange Small Room. Here, you can find out which of the first seven Evil Pigs you've defeated. The eighth and final Evil Pig is behind the door, but you must defeat the first seven first.

The opening in the northeast corner of the maze takes you to the forest mansion area. If you go through the doors on the right, you'll go up an elevator to the mansion itself, making this a shortcut between the Mansion and the underground maze.

If you need to, you can go to the Mushroom Forest and open the red chests for 1-Ups and Charity Wings. If you go to the Seaside Mansion and open the red chest for 200,000 AP.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 13 of 17

In this entry, we do a lot of stuff! We go for the medals in the Motocross course, learn to dive deep into the water, and finally unlock fast travel.

To the right of the entrance to Trick Village is a house with a chimney. Jump into the chimney, and you'll meet the 10,000-Year-Old Man. This will complete the "The 10,000 Year Old Man" objective. He will tell you that Trick Village has sunken underwater, and that there are ten Math Beads with numbers on them hidden in the tower. If you can find all of the Beads and bring them back to him, he will tell you everything you want to know. This will trigger the "The 10 Math Beads" objective.

However, you cannot collect the Beads just by swimming through the water; you'll have to be able to dive underwater as well. The 10,000-Year-Old Man will tell you that a mermaid came by to see him, and that she found an important item that she had lost in the waterfall. Unfortunately, she cannot get to it on her own, but if you were to help her get it back, you may be able to learn how to dive. The Mermaid will be resting at the (no-longer-)Haunted Mansion. One of the doors at the Mansion leads to a pool of water that you can only dive into. Nearby will be the mermaid. Talk to her, and she will be wondering how to get the necklace from the waterfall.

Head further to the right, avoiding the trees that are sticking out of the water as you do. The blue chest that you see will contain the Seashell Necklace. Head back to the cave at the Mansion where the mermaid is and use the necklace as an item. This will clear the "The Mermaid's Entrance" objective. The mermaid will then mention that she lost something in the water here and that if you can get it you, you'll have learned how to five. This will open up the "What's Underwater?" objective. From here, you can press Down on the surface of the water to submerge, then hold the direction you need to go and press and hold Square. Tomba will dive automatically and get the Mighty Fish Food. When you put the food in the water, the Mighty Fish will show up, and depending on which place you use it in, you'll max out the experience for either the red bar, the blue bar or the green bar. This will trigger the "Mighty Fish Food" objective.

If you go further to the right from the necklace, you'll drop from a waterfall into the Deep Jungle.

If you use the Blackjack on the spiked barrel at Wobbly Wharf - without charging it - you can break the spikes, and you can push the barrels without getting hurt. If you push the barrel to the right and into the water, you'll trigger the "Where The Barrel Rolls..." objective. From there, you can go into the water and dive. When you see the barrel, the objective will be cleared. If you enter the pipe near the barrel, you'll end up back at that pink pipe at the Mansion where the water is coming out.

By bringing all 29 Leaf Butterflies to the guy in the cage at the Charity Square, the cage will fly high into the air, and you'll end up in Hidden Village. The egg in the village will hatch and you'll clear the "Leaf Butterflies" objective and get the Golden Leaf Butterfly for your efforts.

By going into the Lava Caves and going back to where you first met the thief, you'll find a white bag. This is What The Thief Forgot. Take it back to the thief in the chimney at the Mansion and use it as an item, and you'll clear the "What The Thief Forgot" objective and get two pieces of Cheese.

From here, if you talk to the guy in the red near the blue chest, you'll find out he is the head thief, and you'll trigger the "The Boss' Treasure" objective. The head thief will leave the room, and you can open the blue chest that was next to him to get the Boss' Jewel, ending the objective as quickly as you got it.

By handing the seaweed back to the town doctor in the Dwarf Village by using it as an item near her, Baron will have grown considerably and you will clear the "Seaweed For Your Health" objective. From here, you'll get Baron as an item. This clears the "Baron's Strength" objective, and from this point forward, you now have an infinite Charity Wing and you can do fast travel any time you want!

"The Pump Rocks" is completed here! If you talk to the Old Tree after completing the objective by grabbing the bird, you'll find out the Old Tree is also known as the Tree of Knowledge, and if you can ask it a question, it will probably know the answer. You'll get the "Tree of Knowledge Knows" objective for this.

Now that you have the Fuel Bar, go back to the GoGoCar at the Village of All Beginning and use it on the car. From here, you can now race on the Motocross. You'll need to cross the finish line near the Mermaid's Singing Rock before time runs out, and if you can break any past records, you'll get a medal. This will trigger the "The Mermaid's Singing Rock" objective.

As you go through the course, you can take multiple routes all while holding Right on the D-Pad, and you can also jump with X. You can also grab items such as AP gems, a Lunch Box and even a Charity Wing. There are three medals that you can get, and they all have their own objective attached to them.

- Bronze Medal (finish between 26.55 and 28.16 seconds) ("I Want a Bronze Medal")
- Silver Medal (finish between 24.96 and 26.55 seconds) ("I Want a Silver Medal")
- Gold Medal (finish in under 24.96 seconds) ("I Want a Gold Medal")

After you get your time, head to the Mermaid's Singing Rock to get your medal and clear the objective for the current medal as well as "The Mermaid's Singing Rock." If you got anything less than gold, you'll trigger the objective for the next medal up. (You need not trigger the objectives to get the medals; it is possible to get anything above Bronze first.) Also, if you get the Bronze Medal, you can get a Vitality +1.

If you don't touch anything for the beginning of the race, you can get over the big ramp in eight seconds.

Also, if you get the Gold Medal, the game will break the fourth wall by saying the game's development team must be ashamed of themselves because you won the gold.

If you go right at the Mermaid's Singing Rock area instead of up in front of the opening where the Singing Rock is, you'll go back to the raging rapids in the Deep Jungle.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 12 of 17

We'll need to do some things in the Village of Civilization in order to come and go in the Deep Jungle. Once we do that, there's a lot more things to do.

At the Iron Tower, you'll find out from the guy outside that the Machine Room is beyond the door, which is impossible to open and has been left untouched for a long time that even the generator inside has come to a stop. This will trigger the "Break the Rusty Door!" objective. Meanwhile, you can enter the room to the left for a gem worth 10,000 AP and the room to the right for some fruit.

Leaving the Iron Tower area and going left takes you a cage with one of those Bonsugee from the Mushroom Forest in it, except purple. If you talk to the guy in the hard hat, he will tell you that you won't be able to open up the door to the Iron Tower unless you blew it up with a bomb. This triggers the "I Need A Bomb" objective. If you talk to the guy again, he will tell you that he made a bomb a long time ago, but that it is dangerous and he didn't have any use for it; therefore, he hid it in the jungle in the highest tree. He will also tell you that it looks like a coconut, but it is actually a really powerful bomb that even the iron door of the Iron Tower wouldn't be able to stand up to.

If you talk to the guy next to the Bonsugee, he will tell you it took a lot of work to find it and that he has studied the Mushroom Forest for a while and found out that the Flower Tears need a special bottle from the yellow Bonsugee in order to collect them. He will tell you that the yellow Bonsugee used to live in the forest a long time ago, and now that the Evil Pigs have cast a spell on the forest, you'll have to break the spell on the forest in order to get the bottle. This triggers the "I Need a Tear Bottle" objective. The man will also tell you that there is only one flower in the Mushroom Forest that sheds tears, and it is the one that hasn't bloomed. You'll need the Rise and Shine Powder that the other Bonsugees carry in order to make that flower bloom. The opening to the right contains Charity Wings, but nothing else.

The bomb that you just learned about is just next to the entrance to the Village of Civilization. Just go to the tree to the left of the door, climb all the way up, and you'll find the Bomb and clear the "I Need a Bomb" objective. Go back to the door of the Iron Tower and use the Bomb as an item to blow up the door. You'll clear the "Break The Rusty Door" objective. You'll then be able to go through the door, find the generator and get it started again. This will trigger something in the Watch Tower area east of the Dwarf Village and clear the "We Need Power..." objective. You will then be thanked for getting the generator back up and running, and you'll be told that a 10,000-Year-Old Man who lives near the large pool at the top of the waterfall knows all about the Evil Pigs, and to find him, you'll need to go through the Village of All Beginnings to get to the top of the waterfall. This triggers the "The 10,000 Year Old Man" objective. You'll also get the key to the door at the Ol' Pond. From there, you'll need to ride the raft from the hill with the old tree to return to the (now no longer) Haunted Mansion. The raft will be on the table at the factory, and you can go ahead and take it. This triggers the "Let's Ride the Raft!" objective.

From here, leave the generator room and leave the Iron Tower area. There will be a guard. Talk to him and he will tell you that he just came back from the Village of All Beginnings and that he saw "the Witch." Turns out, her name is Mizuno, and he thinks she is cute and wants to see her again. This triggers the "The Cute Witch" objective.

Go back to where the purple Bonsugee and talk to the guy near the go-kart. He will try to fuel it up with normal water, but he will soon find out he will need to make a Fuel Bar. This triggers the "Food for Fuel?" objective. He will tell you that he will need a Fuel Bar to make the go-kart, which is actually called a "GoGoCar," to move. Unfortunately, he can find the ingredient needed to make the Fuel Bar, and that all he needs is a little bit of wine. He will tell you that a bucketful should be enough to finish the Motocross Course.

If you talk to the guy who told you about the bomb, he will tell you that his grandpa told him that there is an elevator near some kind of Watch Tower in the Dwarf Forest that is supposed to go underground. This triggers the "What's Under the Forest?" objective, and reveales that what you triggered near the Watch Tower was that elevator. Also, you can now get the raft in this area. Just touch it and it's yours.

Go back to the river in the jungle, head to the right and use the Raft at the wooden dock. This will clear the "Let's Ride the Raft!" objective. You'll return to the mansion near Baccus Village.

If you go to the chimney of the mansion, you'll find out that the thief from the Lava Caves is hiding from his boss inside the chimney. Unfortunately, he has lost something, and he does not want his boss to catch him without what he forgot. This triggers the "What The Thief Forgot" objective.

Head back to Baccus Village. Now that the villagers are in human form again, they will thank you if you talk to them. Head back to the house to the left and talk to the guy on the left to learn more about the Phoenix. You'll find out that the Phoenix was a majestic bird in the past, but that this was a long time ago, and that the Phoenix has not left the mountain since the storms started. In order to get the Phoenix moving again, you will have to feed him five Bunk Flowers. (This is how you're supposed to trigger the "Master of the Skies" objective, but this got done a long time ago here.)

If you enter the town square and talk to the guy to the right of the house, he will give you Wine to make the Fuel Bar with. You can then take this back to the guy who wants to make the Fuel Bar to clear the "Food for Fuel?" objective.

Now that we have the Funga Drum, we can talk to the tribesman in Phoenix Mountain and use the drum as a item near him to enter the doorway he is standing in front of and clear the "What's a Funga?" objective. Inside the doorway is Molasses. Just go in and you'll get them.

Back at the Dwarf Village, talk to the woman taking care of Baron in the hut at the top center and use the Fruit of Knowledge. You'll give the Fruit of Knowledge to the woman, who will in turn give it to Baron. This will clear the "Delicious Knowledge Fruit" objective. The woman will then be impressed with what you went through to get this far in taking care of Baron and mention that even Baron knows how far you went to get the Healing Herbs and the Fruit, and you'll also clear the "A Man's Best Friend" objective because of this. The woman will then tell you that Baron might have special powers and that Baron's ears so big that they may enable him to fly. This will trigger the "Baron's Strength" objective.

If you talk to the woman again, she will tell you about the seaweed at the beach behind the mansion in the Village of All Beginnings, and mention that the seaweed is supposed to be good for you. She usually goes to get some seaweed so everyone in the village will be healthy, but she will not be able to get it this year and asks you to get some for her. This triggers the "Seaweed For Your Health" objective.

At the Dwarf Elder's house, you can go left past the house and enter a hole. This is the jail, and the lights will go out. As it turns out, the lantern being held by the thief inside the cell has gone out and he cannot see. This triggers the "Where'd the Lights Go?" objective. Go left to leave. If you talk to the guy at the center of the village, he will give you his torch. Go back to the cell and use the Torch, and you'll help him find his escape tunnel and help him get out. You'll clear the objective.

There will now be a woman near the Dwarf Elder's house, and the Elder will be gone. Talk to the woman, and she will tell you that two dwarves from the forest are arguing in front of the village entrance and blocking the way in. This triggers the "Stop The Fight!" objective. From here, you won't be able to leave until you fix this, and if you walk up to them, you'll see them argue over something that has been and broken and somebody finding out about it. Go back to the thief's cell near the Elder's house. There will be a Broken Vase. Get it, then leave the cell and walk back to the fighting dwarves. A man in blue who happens to be nearby - who doesn't show up until you arrive here with the Broken Vase - will recognize that his vase has been broken, and this will clear the objective and cause the dwarves to leave.

The man will then tell you that he is glad to be out of a sink hole in the middle of the village and will ask you to fill it up. Tomba will walk up to the hole, then leave the village. You'll then see three dwarves looking for somebody in the forest known as "The World's Greatest Thief." Seems this is the guy that you just sprung out of the cooler. This triggers the "The Great Escape" objective. The dwarves will then go back to the village to the Underground Prison near the Dwarf Elder's house. Follow them there and you will find the thief again. He will get mad at you for blocking his escape tunnel and blame you for being locked up again. After mentioning the Watch Tower telescope, he will go back to sleep, and you'll clear the "The Great Escape" objective.

By using the Wine near the guy who needed it to make the Fuel Bar, you'll clear the "Food For Fuel?" objective and get the Fuel Bar before the guy will leave on the GoGoCar. You can now use the GoGoCar near where the game began in the Village of All Beginnings.

Back at the Seaside Mansion, you'll find the Seaweed after taking the boat and going left. You can now take it to the woman taking care of Baron in the Dwarf Village to clear the "Seaweed For Your Health" objective.

At the very beginning of the Village of All Beginnings, you can cut down the purple plants with your weapon to find a frog. Jump on the frog to trigger the "Take Me Home" objective, which you can get much earlier in the game. From here, you'll need to take the frog straight back to the Ol' Pond. If you go anywhere else, the frog will run away and you'll have to find it again. Making it to the Ol' Pond with the frog still on your back will clear the objective and give you two 1-Ups.

The first house you saw in the Village of All Beginnings is the home of Mizuno. Just press Up at the door and you'll meet her. Talk to hear to clear the "The Cute Witch" objective. She will then mention magic candy, and tell you that you will need a Biting Plant Flower, some Silver Powder, some Molasses, Kokka Claws, a Butamushi Thorn and Needlegator Teeth. Once you have them all, you can throw them in the cauldron in the house. This will trigger the "Let's Make Candy!" objective.

Mizuno will then mention that she has forgotten three large crystal balls and a mirror to make something with. This will trigger the "What The Witch Lost..." objective. At this point, however, we should have the crystal balls, so use them. All you need now is a mirror.

When you enter the doors at the other side of The Ol' Pond, you'll trigger the "The Underwater Pig Bag" objective. Welcome to Trick Village.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 11 of 17

In this entry, we beat the Orange Evil Pig, learn to swim and head to the Village of Civilization for the first time.

If you go inside the hole in the wall that the digger in Phoenix Mountain dug, you'll find Cheese.

Since it hasn't been mentioned in previous entries, the devil pigs can breathe fire, and you do not want to be on those three small platforms in Phoenix Mountain for too long due to the spiked shell enemies coming in on the right tracking you vertically.

In the upper-right corner of the Lava Caves, you'll reach the Phoenix's Nest. Go up to the nest and use a Bunk Flower after collective five of them, and you'll be able to ride on the Phoenix. You'll complete the "The Master of the Skies" objective for doing so, then you'll get a cutscene where the flight is successful. You'll end up in the Deep Jungle, and get a new objective: "The Jungle Pig Bag."

The tribesman will hurt you, but you can kill them with the Jewel of Fire. They do endlessly spawn, but you can get AP from them. There will be a 100-Year-Old Chest shortly after the start, and inside is the Funga Drum, which you'll need for the "What's A Funga?" objective. There are red man-eating plants here, but you can avoid them by jumping up the vines that will be slippery if you grab on. Also, watch out for the drums; you'll be bounced back if you move into them.

You may be able to find some Leaf Butterflies here. If you do, hunt them down here, as this is where you will find the last four needed for the "Leaf Butterflies" objective.

There are chests above the wooden cage. The 100-Year-Old Chest contains a Large Lunch Box, while the 1,000-Year-Old Chest contains a Vitality Max +1. You'll also find a man in the background. He will be relieved that you are not one of the Masakari (the tribesmen that act as enemies here), and will tell you that he came from the Clock Tower that is in the Village of Civilization up ahead. He will tell you that he is looking for his hat, which blew away and landed somewhere around here, but he saw a weird looking monkey with it. He is too scared to chase after him, what with the Masakari being about. He will tell you get the hat back if you see a strange monkey with striped pants on, as that is the monkey that has it. That monkey is Charles, whom we haven't seen in a while. This triggers the "Find Charles!" objective.

From here, use the fruits on the vine to slide past the big spike pit, but don't slide into the cage or else you'll be surrounded by Masakari and lose a life. Also, there are bananas in the foreground area. Be sure to get those before heading to the right. Further to the right from the Bananas is Charles. Land on the bridge and into the water, and Charles will teach you to swim in exchange for a refreshing drink. This triggers the "A Refreshing Drink" objective. He will give you the hat that the man you met earlier is looking for. This is the Miner's Hat, and returning it to the man by using it as an item near him will clear the "Find Charles!" objective. He will tell you that you can enter the Clock Tower in the Village of Civilization at any time, but you won't be able to enter the Iron Factory.

The big tree to the left of the man leads to an Evil Pig Door to the left at the top. Inside is the Orange Evil Pig, but don't go in there yet. Instead, go through the doors the man you found the hat for went through. You'll find the Village of Civilization as well as a save point. From there, you can now take care of the Orange Evil Pig without having to worry about doing a ton of stuff over again.

To beat the Orange Evil Pig, get on the platform on the upper-right that does not have a rope attached to it. Stand here, and pounce on the Orange Evil Pig when he shows up. From there, get him in the bag. Don't let him be on-screen too much, or else he will toss boulders at you. By beating the Orange Evil Pig, you'll break the spell on Baccus Village, and the people will no longer be mice anymore.

At the Village of Civilization, you can go to the right to enter the Clock Tower. Up at the top is the guy you met earlier. He will give you some juice in return for getting his hat back, but he does not have Bananas. Give him the Bananas, and he will make the Banana Juice for you. Head back to Charles and give him the Banana Juice, and you'll be able to bring it to Charles to complete the "A Refreshing Juice" objective and learn to swim. All you have to do is jump into the river, and Charles will take care of the rest. Move forward by holding the direction you want to go while pressing Square. Just swim to the right, then back to the ladder. You'll complete the "I Can't Swim..." objective.

If you jump back into the river, you can head to the right and go to the other side of the river. If you hold Up and press X while in front of a ladder, Tomba will jump into a ladder in the background - assuming one is directly in front of him - and climb up it automatically. Besides  a save point, you can also find the Knowledge Fruit and a parrot. If you jump onto the parrot, the parrot will talk to the old tree nearby. The old tree nearby will ask you to find some Pump Rocks and step on them to push them back into the ground in order to bring nutrients back to it. This triggers the "The Pump Rocks" objective.

The Pump Rocks are the brown accordion-like things sticking out of the ground with the grass on top of them, and from this point forward, if there are any you haven't jumped on, they will be a lighter color than the ones you have. You will need to jump on every Pump Rock in the game in order to complete this objective.

Also, there is a platform you can drop down to from the right of the first Pump Rock in this specific area. This will act as a shortcut to the river.

If you go back to the top of the Clock Tower and talk to the man there twice, the man will ask for your help to get the Machine to work so that the Clock Tower's gears can run again. From here, you'll be able to go to the Factory and the Iron Castle. You'll also trigger the "We Need Power..." objective.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 10 of 17

In this entry, we explore the Lava Caves, find the Hidden Village, and help a thief.

By equipping the Grapple and the Funk Parasol, you can get around the Lava Caves more easily. Not only can you grapple onto the flying Koma Pig, you can more easily get to other platforms.

If you get to any chests, un-equip the Funky Parasol before opening them. You'll be able to find Charity Wings, 1-Ups, a Lunch Box and even a Vitality Max +1 in the chests that you can open right now, and you can also find some more Bunk Flowers out of the open. Just be ready to save yourself on the drop down.

Somewhere up top in the Lava Caves is a guy on a cliff in the wall. He is there because the area where he is standing is shielded from the heat of the lava, and by continuing to talk to him, he will tell you that he lost a very important item that he was taking care of for his boss, and came back here to look for it. Unfortunately, the heat made it unbearable. This triggers the "The Troubled Thief" objective. Thankfully, there is an area near the top that you'll need to use the Grapple to latch onto the orange plant platform between a wall and a cliff, and on the cliff is a white sack. This is What The Thief Lost. No, seriously, that's the name of the item. Make sure not to touch the red glowing part of the wall on the way up, as it will damage you. Bring it back to the thief you met earlier by going up to him and using it as an item, and you'll complete the objective.

To get the "The Phoenix's Favorite" objective, you have to talk to the mice at the bar after completing "Death Fruit Juice." They will ask for Bunk Flowers, and the only place to get them is here in the Lava Caves. If you collect five, you'll complete "The Phoenix's Favorite."

Above What The Thief Lost is the entrance to the Hidden Village.

If you talk around, you'll find out about a boy named Yan who loves to play hide-and-seek. Unfortunately, nobody has seemed to find him. If you talk to the man in the house next to the save point sign, he will give you Yan's Lunch Box. DO NOT EAT THE LUNCH BOX. You'll then get the "Take Out" objective.

Another person in the village will tell you that the Koma Pigs are protecting "some sort of unusual gold thing" in the area. Could this be where the Koma Pigs are storing all that gold...?

If you talk to the guy with the blue hair who is walking around outside in the village, he will wish he had something to eat. This triggers the "I'm So Hungry" objective. If you walk in his path to stop him and use a Lunch Box, he will introduce himself as Taro and give you some Cheese in return, completing the objective.

At the north end of the village is a giant egg statue. Maybe it serves a purpose...?

When you return to the Haunted Mansion, the mansion will no longer be haunted and there will be happy music. Also, you can see the material of the roofs, the dark blue Kokka birds will be gone, and all the people in the mansion will be back to normal. There is a man on the north side of the mansion blocking a 1,000-Year-Old Chest, and you won't be able to get to it...yet.

Remember that area with the stone door in the mansion? There's a 1,000-Year-Old Chest there, and if you open it, you'll get a Vitality Max +1.

The room with the long pool of water in it has a 1,000-Year-Old Chest with a Large Lunch Box in it. You can get it with the Funky Parasol if you can make a long enough running jump, but learning to swim makes getting it easier.

There are some tree limbs up high in the area where you have to swing to get to the area with the 100-Year-Old Man. If you go up to the highest limbs and swing your way to the right after getting the 100-Year-Old Key, you'll be able to open a 100-Year-Old Chest with yet another Vitality Max +1 which could have been gotten much earlier in the game.

The AP Box near the Old Pond contains a Cheese if you interact with it. Speaking of which, you can make a running jump to the other side with the Funky Parasol, but there is nothing you can do there yet.

The 1,000-Year-Old Chest up high to the left of the house in the Dwarf Forest contains another Vitality Max +1. The maximum amount of health unit you can have is eight, however.

The 1,000-Year-Old Chest in the doctor's hut in the Dwarf Village contains Charity Wings.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 9 of 17

Let's do a whole bunch of things! One of those things includes restoring Phoenix Mountain so the wind isn't completely terrible anymore!

One of the villagers in Baccus Village will ask you about the Grapple if you talk to him.

Another villager will tell you that they will no longer be mice if the Evil Pig that cast the spell on them is beaten, and that he has put a treasure chest next to the town hall. He says that you can have it if you know how to open the chest. The chest is a 1,000-Year-Old-Chest that will give you the Orange Evil Pig Bag.

The upside-down bell looking flowers with the mean faces are the Death Fruits. If you jump onto them and throw them, you will throw them down to defeat them. If you can defeat the Death Fruits and tell the mice at the bar that you did, you'll complete the "Death Fruit Juice" objective and get Charity Wings and a Vitality Max +1, the latter of which will increase your maximum health by one point.

The "Smile" door at the north side of the Haunted Mansion leads to the Green Evil Pig Door. To beat the Green Pig, stand on one of the large platforms beneath the Green Evil Pig Bag, then throw him in when he appears nearby. As you face him, he will throw a meteor up into the air, which will soon fall towards you at a much bigger size. By beating the Green Evil Pig, you will cool down the Lava Caves so that there is no more fire.

Now that the spell on Phoenix Mountain is broken, the area will be a lot safer, and you will no longer have to deal with high winds.

High up in Stormy Mountain is a tribesman with a spear. If you talk to him, he will say "Funga," which triggers the "What's a Funga?" objective.

The 1,000-Year-Old Chest above the tribesman contains two 1-Ups. There is also two more chests further to the right from the tribesman, but you cannot open them yet.

The spiky shelled enemies can be disarmed with the Stone Boomerang, and from there, you can jump on them normally.

Remember the guy who was digging a hole in the wall at Phoenix Mountain? If you talk to him after beating the Red Evil Pig, you will clear the "The Famous Digger" objective. If you enter the hole in the wall, you'll find some Cheese.

If you go back to the Lava Caves after beating the Green Evil Pig, the fire will be gone. You can jump from platform to platform for a Bunk Flower, and you can also face the Pink Evil Pig after finding the door on a ledge above the entrance, assuming you have the Pink Evil Pig Bag. To beat the Pink Evil Pig, get to the platforms at the top, then pounce on the Pink Evil Pig when he appears and toss him in the bag when the opening is facing you. The Pink Evil Pig will teleport in and out and shoot thunderbolts down. Watch for waves of energy to see where the thunderbolt will land, and remember that if the thunderbolt hits a platform, it will shock all of the platforms that share its color...so watch where you're standing!

When you beat the Pink Evil Pig, you'll break the curse on the Haunted Mansion.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 8 of 17

In this entry, we meet a fortune teller, face our first Evil Pig and get some very useful items.

After you complete the "Where's The Baby Mouse?" and "A Drink For Grownups" objectives, you can go back to the Red Fortune Teller's house to meet the Red Fortune Teller. Talk to her, and she will tell you that she will read your fortune as she is still in training. Talk to her again, and she will tell you that Pink is somewhere really hot, Green is the mansion on the lake, and Red is awaiting a miracle. These are hints as to where to find the Pink, Green and Red Evil Pigs. You'll also complete the "Red Fortune Teller" objective.

Remember the door above the small platforms at Stormy/Phoenix Mountain that required the Large Key Hole? If you enter it with the Large Key, you can get the Red Evil Pig Bag. This completes the "A Stormy Pig Bag" objective. The Red Evil Pig Bag will be in Phoenix Mountain.

If you talk to the mouse at the location where you rode the Phoenix, he will tell you that the Phoenix returned home to Lava Caves and that you'll need to go there to see the Phoenix again. He will also tell you that you will need a grapple to get through the Lava Caves. Thankfully, you can get the Grapple now that you can open the 1,000-Year-Old chests. Make your way to the right from here and open the blue chest that is there. You'll get the Grapple and complete the "A Precious Treasure Chest?" objective. The pirate who is blocking your path here will also be gone from here on out. Don't go to the right, though. Instead, enter the cave above where you got the Grapple and open the 1,000-Year-Old Chest there. You'll get the Green Evil Pig Bag and complete the "The Fire Pig Bag" objective. The Green Evil Pig Bag will be in the Lava Caves.

The Grapple works much like the Blackjack that you start the game with, but it has more range due to acting like a grappling hook and can also be aimed upwards with the Control Pad. You can use it to get on top of the plant above where you just got the Green Evil Pig Bag and climb onto it with Up, but you won't be able to go further due to the flames.

If you go back to Baccus Village and talk to the mouse to the left of the message board near the Red Fortune Teller's house, the mouse will keep crying. Talking to the mouse twice will trigger the "Can't Stop Crying" objective. (You won't be able to do this until after you complete the "Where's The Baby Mouse?" objective.) If you can give him a Healing Mushroom from the Mushroom Forest by using it as an item in front of the mouse, he will stop crying, and you'll clear the objective. He will then tell you if have ever seen a baby Koma Pig and that he is looking for one, and if you can find one, you can give it to him in return for something useful.

There is a 1,000-Year-Old Chests at the ground level of the Mushroom Forest near where you come in from the Dwarf Forest, and it contains a 1-Up. Above this chest on the plant platforms is another 1,000-Year-Old Chest that contains a Mysterious Mushroom. Opening this chest and getting the mushroom completes the "The Mysterious Mushroom" objective. The Mysterious Mushroom works just like an Ordinary Mushroom, but it never runs out and can be used over and over again.

If you keep going left from where you found the Mysterious Mushroom, you'll find a 1,000-Year-Old chest that contains the 1,000-Year-Old Bell. This bell, when used as an item, returns you to the 1,000-Year-Old Man.

There is another 1,000-Year-Old chest in a pit near the entrance to Charity Square. It contains Charity Wings if you open it.

The 1,000-Year-Old chest in Charity Square contains a big gem worth 10,000 AP when collected.

Now that you have the Red Evil Pig Bag, you can open up the door to the Red Evil Pig at the top of Charity Square and leaping towards where the door is. (It's left of where the butterfly cage is.) Jump into the door, and you'll face the Red Evil Pig, also known as the Stormy Evil Pig.

All of the Evil Pig battles require you to throw the Evil Pig in the Evil Pig Bag in order to trap them and break the spell that they have placed in a certain area. In this case, beating the Stormy Evil Pig will break the spell on Stormy/Phoenix Mountain.

The Stormy Evil Pig will rotate around the windmill in the center either clockwise or counter-clockwise. To beat him, all you have to do is pounce on him and throw him into the opening of the evil pig bag, which is spinning around in the direction of the windmill in the center of the room. If you can do that just once, you'll beat him. To beat the Stormy Evil Pig, you'll need to stand on the large central platform beneath the bag and pounce on the Stormy Evil Pig when he appears nearby. From there, you'll need to toss him towards the opening of the bag. If that doesn't work, stay to the side, and if you can knock him unconscious by swinging around on one oft he poles, so be it. He will throw tornadoes at you that will send you either towards him or into the spikes in the room, but you can avoid that by equipping and using the Jewel of Fire. By beating the Stormy Evil Pig, you'll beat the "A Stormy Pig Bag" objective and break the spell on Phoenix Mountain so it isn't stormy anymore.

The 1,000-Year-Old Chest in the seaside mansion contains a big blue gem that gives 100,000 AP when collected.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 7 of 17

In this entry, we're free to do things at the Haunted Mansion...and we do a lot of things.

There is a doorway with a 100-Year-Old Chest with fruit in it and another door that looks like that it is made out of hay in the east side of the Haunted Mansion. You won't be able to do anything with the hay-looking door yet.

Large Key Panel 1 is also on the east side of the mansion. Inside the cavern where the key piece is located is a gold chest you won't be able to open yet.

On the north side of the mansion near the two eggs placed side by side is a cavern with a large painting of a key. The painting is really an indentation of a key, and you'll need all five Key Pieces to fill it in. By talking to the mouse near it, you'll trigger the "Painting of a Big Key?" objective. If you use the Key Panels near the indentation, you'll put the Key Panels in place so you don't have to carry them around (although you can't run out of inventory space).

Underneath the key indentation room is a cavern with a red chest you cannot open...yet.

The Jewel of Fire increases your running and jumping abilities and renders you invincible for brief periods of time. To use it, your red experience meter must be at the maximum level of 10. Once you reach that level, you can use it. By using the Jewel of Fire, Tomba will also have red hair. The Jewel of Fire is an equippable item as opposed to a disposable one, so you don't have to worry about the powers running out.

Now you can go back to the door that looks like it is made out of hay. Equip the Jewel of Fire and run into it, and you'll find out that the jewel's fire power will set the hay door ablaze. Behind the door, you'll find a 100-Year-Old Chest containing two pieces of cheese. You won't be able to open the blue chest here until you find the 1,000-Year-Old Key, and when you do get it, a Lunch Box will be waiting for you inside of the chest.

The big wooden door contains an old man near a blue chest, but you'll need to get past a big wall of fire to even speak to him. If you leave and come back, however you'll be able to talk to him. This is the 1,000-Year-Old Man, and he will tell you that the Evil Pigs use very powerful magic that can warp an entire area under their control, but to do that, they need an enormous amount of gold to produce this kind of magic. He will tell you that the Evil Pigs have to be gathering all this gold in one place, and that if you find this place, you'll find Tomba's grandfather's bracelet. This will complete the "The 1,000 Year Old Man?" objective,

If you have broken all of the eggs located around the Haunted Mansion when you talk to the 1,000-Year-Old Man, you'll be able to complete the "Break the Magic Egg!" objective. If you haven't, he'll ask you to break them all. By completing this objective, you'll get the 1,000-Year-Old Key, which will allow you to open up the blue chests just like the one next to him. The old man will then tell you that you'll find what you need to get beyond Phoenix Mountain in a 1,000-Year-Old treasure chest left in Phoenix Mountain, and that there is a special technique in getting through the Lava Caves. Even more, the flames from the lava inside the caves will also be a problem, and there is nothing you can do until you find the Evil Pig that cast the spell that is making that happen and seal him away. The Evil Pig in question is the Green Evil Pig, and you'll find the Green Evil Pig Bag in the Lava Caves. That's not all you'll be doing, as the old man will also tell you to climb the Stand of the Sun Torch, which is nearby. Doing so will show you a new power, but it will be up to you to find the way. Finally, he will tell you that some friends of his will help you on the road ahead, and to be careful of the 10,000-Year-Old Man. He implies that he may be a bit odd, but he does say that the 10,000-Year-Old Man is not a bad man.

The third Large Key Panel is below a 1,000-Year-Old chest - which contains a Stone Boomerang, which is more powerful than the wooden one - in one of the caverns in the south side of the mansion. The Stone Boomerang doesn't stun enemies; it outright defeats them when thrown.

One of the caverns in the east side of the mansion contains an egg you can break.

There is a stone wall in the room underneath the big keyhole door. You won't be able to do anything with it yet.

If you go back to the town square in Baccus Village, the mouse on the right will mention the Healing Mushroom curing the effects of the mushrooms that make you laugh or cry, and asks what to take to get well in case you eat a Suspicious Mushroom or other kinds of mushrooms.

There are two people in the house in the square now. The one on the left will mention the key panels if you talk to them.

By taking the southern exit out of Baccus Village, you'll return to Phoenix/Stormy Mountain. From here, you can go back and open the 1,000-Year-Old Chests in earlier areas as well as take care of new business in earlier areas.

By going back to the Mushroom Forest, grabbing a Crying Mushroom, holding Up at the sad door and crying with Square in front of it, you'll complete the "Cry Baby" objective. By going through the door, you'll find a bunch of fruit to heal with as well as two pieces of Cheese.

By going back to the Mushroom Forest, grabbing a Laughing Mushroom, holding Up at the happy door and laughing with Square in front of it, you'll be able to open the door and get the last Key Panel (which in this case is number five). Go back to the huge key indentation and put all five Key Panels in to get the Big Key and complete the "Painting of a Big Key?" objective. Go back to the door with the big keyhole and open it with the Big Key to complete the "A Large Key Hole!" objective, then go inside to enter a cavern. Swing from one wooden pole to the other and open the 1,000-Year-Old Chest to get a Pink Evil Pig Bag. This will complete the "The Haunted Pig Bag" objective and open up the "The Haunted Mansion" objective, which you'll need to beat the Pink Evil Pig to complete.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 6 of 17

We have a lot to do here. Besides exploration, we find a baby mouse, fix a water pump

If you go back to the bulletin board after getting the "Where's The Baby Mouse?" objective, you'll find a piece of paper stuck to it saying "Will be back soon." This will trigger the "The Red Fortune Teller" objective.

If you go back to the house where you got the "Death Fruit Juice" objective, there will be three people near the door. Talk to the center person. This is the baby mouse. Go back to the guy in the building in the town square and talk to him. You'll clear the "Where's The Baby Mouse" objective. Check the bulletin board again. You'll find out that the pump at the lake is broken and that there is not enough wine for the village, and that an experienced adventure will need to go to Baccus Lake and fix the pump. You'll also find another notice looking for courageous challengers who are not afraid of the Haunted Mansion. This triggers the "A Drink For Grownups" objective.

By talking to people, you'll find out that the Phoenix has flown back to its nest in Stormy Mountain and that there is a rumor that one of the Old Men of Time is trapped somewhere in the Haunted Mansion. You can get the latter information from somebody standing to the right of the town square entrance, and this will trigger the "The 1,000 Year Old Man?" objective.

Now that you've triggered the "A Drink For Grownups" objective, you can now go west to Baccus Lake. Just talk to the person guarding the exit to the lake and he will automatically take you to the lake. You'll get the "The Haunted Pig Bag" objective when you arrive at the south side of the Haunted Mansion. Don't forget to save at the wooden sign if you need to.

The dark blue Kokka Birds add to the blue experience meter. Once again, the red, blue and green experience meters will be explained in time. Just remember that there are ten levels of experience, and that you can fill them up by beating up certain enemies.

There are eggs that you can break just by jumping on them and then throwing them like you would any other enemy. Keep in mind that some man-eating plants will be hiding under them, so be careful.

With the town guard on your back as you are here, the guard will tell you where you cannot go if you try to go to a certain area or go through a certain door. Thankfully, the way to the lake is pretty easy, and once you make it to the lake, you'll clear the "Road to Baccus Lake" objective.

If you need to turn to another side of the mansion, just press Up when you are able to walk into the foreground or background.

Once you're at the lake, keep going to the north. You'll find a machine to the west, and if you examine it, you'll find that there is a hole that looks like something is supposed to be placed in it. If you go further north, you'll end up at a pier where you can take a Pipe. Take the pipe back to this area and use it at the machine and examine it again. From here, go to the brown machine and examine it to find the switch is off. Examine it again to turn the switch on, then go back south and talk to the guard to go back to the mansion. From here, go back to town.

If you try to go through the door with the sad face near the lake entrance, you'll trigger the "Cry Baby" objective. Come back here when you are under the influence of a Crying Mushroom. Remember that this door is on the west side of the mansion.

Back in town, return to the town hall in the town square and talk to the guy in the building. You'll clear the "A Drink For Grownups" objective.

If you read the bulletin board in the town square now, you'll get a note telling you to contact the nearest mouse if you ever have any problems in Phoenix Mountain or anywhere else.

You can now go back to the Haunted Mansion without a mouse on your back, and with that, you can now explore the mansion at your leisure. By entering doors, you can enter caverns, but keep in mind that you still need to learn how to swim. You will be able to rescue a mouse in one of the doors, and this mouse tried to go the pump to fix it, but cannot, even though he brought a key with him. He will give you the Small Key and go back to the village.

Going into the foreground on the west half of the mansion's south side and going to the right will take you through a door back to the Mushroom Forest. If you go left, there will be an AP box, and if you have 150,000 AP, you can open it for an Ordinary Mushroom, which controls laughing and crying fits when used. This completes the "A Safe Mushroom?" objective, which you did not even have activated yet. Further to the left is a 100-Year-Old chest with a big 20,000 AP gem inside, and going further to the west takes you to an island with a fisherman. Talk to him and ride the boat to the other side, and you'll see a mansion. This triggers the "A Familiar Looking Mansion" objective. Enter the opening in the cliff. By going up the stairs, you'll find four chests. The 100-Year-Old chest contains another big AP gem, and by opening it, you'll complete the "Treasures from the Mansion?" objective. (You'll need to talk to the thief in the Dwarf Village's underground village to find out about this objective.) Come back later with the other keys to open the other chests!

Going to the left from here takes you back to the beginning of the Village of All Beginnings and clears the "A Familiar Looking Mansion" objective. You'll have to go all the way back to where you left off the long way, but at least you have more AP.

Back at the Haunted Mansion, one of the doors on the south side leads to Key Panel 2. Looks like you'll be making a key. There is also an oversized fountain further to the right, and if you stand in it, you'll get a full heal as many times as you need to.

Going into the chimney in the mansion leads to the Jewel of Fire. Pick it up to complete the "Red Hidden Powers" objective.

The cavern entrance near the three eggs has a moving platform. Stand on the platform to take it downwards, then use the Wooden Boomerang to get Key Panel 4. You'll then be on the north side of the mansion near a door with a large key hole. Pressing up in front of that door triggers the "A Large Key Hole!" objective. Thankfully, you can turn corners near here and make your way through more of this side of the mountain. There is a laughing door here, and near it is a door with a small keyhole. Because we got the Small Key from that mouse earlier, we can open it and clear the "A Small Key Hole!" objective. On the other side of this door is a glowing egg. You won't be able to break it yet, though.

ZonicTHedgehog plays Tomba! - Part 5 of 17

In this entry, we head up Phoenix Mountain for the healing herbs, check out the Lava Caves for the first time, ride the Phoenix and ends up in a new village.

When you go up Phoenix Mountain, you'll not only find out there is a fierce wind that will push you to the right, but you'll meet two men in cowboy hats talk about the Phoenix, who can take you to the jungle. Unfortunately, it has been a long time since the Phoenix has been known as "The Master of the Skies." Speaking of which, that's the name of the objective you'll unlock here. The men inte hats will then leave, but not before telling you to get down from the mountain. The save sign here will then tell you that this is Stormy Mountain.

As you go up the mountain, there will be springs that launch you upwards and plants that will spit you out. The spring-like monsters are cyan-colored and are hidden, but you can figure out where they are.

Along the way, you'll find Charles the Monkey, who is stuck on a ceiling. If you jump into him, you'll free him, but his pants will be torn and you'll have to find his spare pair of pants, which have unfortunately become lost in the wind. This triggers another objective, "Charles' Pants."

Shortly past Charles is the entrance to the next section. If you go underneath this entrance, you'll find a 100-Year-Old Chest containing the Lunch Box.

There are a series of new things in the second section of this area. The spiked enemies will hurt if you move into them in any way, and some of the plants act as teleporters if you leap into them. It is possible to teleported back to the bottom of the mountain this way, which is great in case you want to clear any earlier missions with things that you find here.

The gray door with the wicked-looking smile on it triggers another new objective: "Smile!" You'll need to reach this door while under the effect of a Laughing Mushroom to open it. Once that happens, hold Up to face the door and press the attack button to laugh to clear the objective, open the door and get Charity Wings. There is also another plain door above that one, and if you try to enter it, you'll get yet another objective: "When the Wind Dies Down..."

Past the two doors, assuming you use the Animal Dash to make a running jump over the nearby Tomba-eating plant, is the Healing Herbs. You'll need these for Baron in the Dwarf Village. Go back to the Dwarf Village, use the Healing Herbs at the doctor to heal Baron's wounds and complete "Healing Herbs For Baron." Baron will now need some good food and rest, and the doctor will recommend Fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. This will trigger another objective: "Delicious Knowledge Fruit."

Use the Animal Dash to get past the set of four plants. From here, you'll need to make a series of jump to the right with the aid of the fierce mountain winds. If you can make these jumps, you can reach the Phoenix. Interestingly, there is a door below the first platform, and if you go in it, you'l go straight above the first platform to a door with a large key hole. If you try to enter the door, you'll trigger another objective: "A Large Key Hole!"

There is another platform in the second section to the left of the four flowers leading to a guy in a blue hat with a shovel. If you talk to him, he will tell you he is digging a tunnel and that nobody can dig as well as him. This triggers yet another objective: "The Famous Digger." The digger will then tell you that he will be digging another tunnel somewhere when he is finished.

When you reach the Phoenix, you'll reach the end of the second section. To the right is a pirate, but he is guarding the area. He will tell you that there is a 1,000-Year-Old Chest under here with something special inside, and that the chest is to be guarded until the person with the 1,000-Year-Old Key shows up to open it. The pirate then mentions that the 1,000-Year-Old Man has helped him plenty of times and that he is trying to return the favor. This will trigger another objective "A Precious Treasure Chest?"

If you go into the cave near him, you'll enter a cave with a big fire pit inside and get another objective: "The Fire Pig Bag." The fire will keep you from going further here unless you can put it out. The guy in the cowboy hat here will give you Charles' Pants. From here, you can go back to Charles and give his pants back. The blue chest here is a 1,000-Year-Old Chest.

If you climb down the ladder below where the pirate is, you'll find the chest he was talking about and another cave entrance. If you take it, you'll go back to the bottom of the mountain and clear the "Where did I come from?" objective.

If you give Charles' Pants back to Charles, you'll get the Funky Parasol. This parasol opens when you jump and will allow you to make even longer, glide-like jumps when equipped, but this is one item you shouldn't keep equipped all the time, as it can make some jumps harder than they need to be. You'll slow down your fall with the parasol, and you can increase the speed of your descent with Down on the D-Pad.

Back at the Phoenix, go all the way to the left to open a 100-Year-Old Chest and get the Dashing Pants, a white pair of pants which let Tomba move faster.

If you talk to the guy in the cowboy hat near the Phoenix, you'll find out that the Phoenix won't be able to take you to the jungle because the storms here have made it so the Phoenix cannot find anything to eat. You can jump on the Phoenix, but the Phoenix will falter in the cutscene that you get and you'll fall off the Phoenix and land in a new area: Baccus Village. You'll also get a new objective: "The Mouse Pig Bag."

By talking to the people here, you'll find out that the people here used to be human but are now mice in hats thanks to a spell by the Evil Pigs. One of the villagers will ask you to bring back some Cheese. If you can bring back ten pieces of Cheese to the person in the hut east of the save point, you'll get a reward. This opens up another objective: "Some Cheese Please."

There is a road to Baccus Lake, but the person guarding the road tells you not to go there unless you really need to if you talk to them. This opens up another objective: "Road to Baccus Lake."

The house north of the road to the lake contains the two guys in hats you met earlier. If you talk to them, they will ask you to find a fruit in the Mushroom Forest called the Fruit of Death, a fruit that kills all the other plants in the forest, and get rid of it. This triggers the "Death Fruit Juice" objective. You'll also get the Weed Killer, which makes it easier to remove the five Fruits of Death, which have a jack-o-lantern-like face.

All the way to the north is a house with a bulletin board. If you read the bulletin board, you'll learn about the Red Fortune Teller, but you won't be able to do anything here yet.

The south exit is blocked by two people. They will tell you about the Bonsugee in the Mushroom Forest, which are the little jellyfish-like enemies we saw earlier in the forest.

The central area of the village is the Central Park and Town Hall area. Inside the house is the Elder, and to the left of him is a bulletin board. Read the bulletin board to read about a real baby mouse being missing. This triggers the "Where's The Baby Mouse?" objective.
