PrinceWatercress plays Bomberman '93 - Part 7 of 7

Here it is: the final world of the game...and it's the toughest one yet.

World 7: Planet Techo

No details on the Black Bomberman. He's probably going to be the same as us, for all we know.

G-1

The level is a reference to the very first Bomberman game.

The orange balloons split into smaller ones that you'll have to kill. That didn't happen in the original game.

The cyborg heads are a bit quick. They will destroy destructible blocks and also rush at you if they see you.

The silver slimes move in a stop-and-go pattern, which makes them the easiest enemies to get rid of here.

The small green owls will run at you if they see you.

The conveyor belts are now purple. I like them in purple.

G-2

The yellow guys on wheels are really fast, so you'd better be ready to either run or hit them.

The big yellow enemies can move through the destructible cubes. He also splits into two when you hit him with a bomb.

The teleporters are now all of these strange rainbow colors.

The light blue enemies that look like spies just walk back and forth. They're pretty fast, too.

If you need remote bombs, you can get them here.

G-3

The purple Bomberman heads with propellers can obviously fly over the destructible cubes. They will also try to shoot iron balls at you. You can still hit them with a bomb, though. Once again, should the projectiles hit your bombs, the bombs will just disappear.

The blue robots drop mines that will kill to the touch. Use your bombs to get rid of them. Interestingly, the mines can also damage enemies.

G-4

Nothing new here.

G-5

The red cyborg heads are just like the blue ones, but they can fly through destructible cubes. They take two hits to kill.

The green robots also take two hits to kill.

The rotating balls from the last two worlds also show up here.

G-6

You'd better be ready to take out enemies as soon as you reach this board, because they're all going to come out in numbers.

G-7

Once again, this is the almighty "putting it all together" stage.

Be sure to look for the Heart power-up before leaving this board. You're going to need it for the boss.

G-8

If you have all the power-ups, including remote detonation and the Heart, you're about as ready as you're going to be.

Your first enemy is a group of four Bombermen on scooters - red, blue, yellow and green. Each scooter takes two hits. Watch out, as they can increase their speed by popping a wheelie when they see and can also drop mines. When you beat them all, stand on the exit pad. The field of play gets smaller, and you'll have to take on the second boss. We finally meet the Black Bomberman.

Use your bombs to hit the red panel on the robot, and don't let the robot touch you! The robot can also shoot its arms forward like missiles and also cover the playfield in two lines of flame that criss-cross around the entire areas. Stay to the side to avoid the arms, and wait for the flames to go to the side before barreling down the center to escape them. You'll want to hit the red panel on the robot as you're avoiding these attacks.

After enough hits, you'll destroy the robot...but the Black Bomberman isn't done yet. He now flies around in his own ship. Stay away from him, hit him when you can and avoid the fireballs. Keep attacking him, and he'll drop bombs as he retreats. Avoid these bombs, and if you can get out of the way and detonate them with one of your own with the aid of the remote detonation power-up, great. The Black Bomberman is vulnerable in this form only when he is on the ground, and he won't lower until his bombs have detonated. If he sees your bombs, he will float up and shoot fireballs that will detonate your bombs, then retreat and lay bombs as he goes.

After you damage him enough times, the Black Bomberman is defeated! You did it!
