PrinceWatercress plays Bomberman '93 - Part 5 of 7

You have no idea how long it took to get this boss battle down; it's perhaps the hardest one in the game so far.

World 5: Planet Surf

The Cockle Twins are vulnerable when they sink down to water level.

E-1

The grated tiles will be smaller grey squares, which makes them perfectly noticeable compared to the watery floor.

The blue square with the circular arrow and the red balls are basically rotatable routes. You cannot bomb the red balls, and when you walk through them in the direction indicated by the arrow, they'll move in that same direction.

Both the spiky blue guys and the purple ducks are fairly quick. Then again, most of the enemies are speedy at this point.

The blue water enemies that look like small blobs of ooze can go through the green destructible walls. These guys must have some AI or something, since they want to run away from your bombs and move back and forth every few seconds. Trapping it without killing yourself somehow is a good strategy if you can do it.

E-2

The whirlpools act as teleporters.

The jellyfish take two hits to kill, while the pink crabs reward you with a lot of points. The jellyfish are far from pushovers, as they can shoot projectiles at your bombs if they see you. Thankfully, they will not detonate your bombs; they will simply make your bombs disappear.

If you need a Heart, you can find one here.

E-3

The yellow guys that moves his arms up and down can get rid of the destructible obstacles if they run into them. This may be a help or a hindrance depending on whatever it is you're trying to do. Interestingly, they can kill enemies by touching them, too.

The pink Pac-Man enemy will chase after you if it sees you. Predictable.

E-4

The purple crab is probably the slowest enemy in this world. It's easy compared to all the others here, but it will come at you if it sees you.

You'll now see little arrows on the blue squares indicating the only directions where the red balls connected to them can be moved.

If you need the remote detonator, you can find it here.

E-5

Nothing new here. At this point, the remote detonation makes the later stages a lot easier as long as you don't unintentionally go kamikaze with your own bombs.

E-6

Nothing new here, either.

E-7

Putting it all together once again. Nice to be able to have the remote detonation handy so you can breeze through the last third or so of the game. You can get an extra life here if you need one.

E-8

The Cockle Twins attack with a line of bubbles that reach all the way to the other side of the board. Hitting them from the side with a bomb when they kneel down is ideal, but if you can hit them vertically in the legs, that works too. The best way to hit them with the line bomb power-up, which allows you to lay a line of bombs when you double tap Button I. Combine that with the remote bombs, and all you'll have to worry about is dodging stuff.

The log walls will not protect you from the bubbles, so stay on the move.

One of the Cockle twins will send the small purple crabs at you after they take two hits. Once you destroy one, you'll have to destroy the other as they both act as individual boss enemies.
