PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 14 of 14

Here's something new for the series: an actual boss battle! Once we finish it, though, the game is over.

At last, you're fighting Witch Hazel. Despite how the controls are, this battle is actually very simple. Grab all the bow and arrow pick-ups, then make your way to the lower-left. When Witch Hazel flies towards you, wait for her to stop flashing white and fire at you. Use the pipe to go up and down and more easily avoid Witch Hazel. It's really not that hard. Once you beat Witch Hazel, enter the door in the upper-right to rescue Honey Bunny. You've won!

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 13 of 14

Almost there...

Stage 28 is a much more linear affair. The eight keys are pretty easy to get, as is everything else. The only real problem is the enemies and where they are placed. You'll have to kill the Dark Hector no matter what. Once you're past the first part of the level, the second part is a bit easier. Use your arrows sparingly, even though they are a ton of them. Once you make it to the top, use the Up tile to get over Taz and enter the final door for the final key.

Oof. We almost had Stage 27 in the bag, but the enemies got us in the end. We'll get it next time for sure, though.

Stage 27 has some pleasant music compared to the last couple of stages that we've been in so far. It definitely looks more pleasant in comparison, that's for sure. The bow and arrow weapons will be in short supply, too. Going up will lead to keys and what not, but going right at the start will lead to the pickaxe. The most interesting part of this stage, however, is in the upper right corner, where there are plenty of Up tiles and plenty of Taz enemies ready to rain on your parade while you're there. One of the doors has the vase of invincibility, grab it and ill off all the Taz enemies.

Getting the pickaxe first helps a lot, as you'll be forced to backtrack if you don't.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 11 of 14

Funny how "HELP" was the password for this stage...you're probably going to need it just to find all the doors in Stage 26. This stage was absolutely vast, so it was no surprise that this one took the entire video to do.

Stage 26 is another vast stage full of platforms, drop-offs, pipes, doors and Merlin the Mouse clones. Don't move too fast, as you never know when you might run into an enemy...and there are quite a few here. Make sure that you get the pickaxe as quickly as possible, and remember that the bottom - the only place where you can use the pickaxe - is the most dangerous part of the stage.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 10 of 14

There is so much going on here it's not even funny.

Stage 25 is a maze of ladders, doors, stairways and pipes. There is a lot going on in this stage, and it can be easy to miss stuff, so pay attention to what you're doing. Also, the fireball enemy makes a rare return here, which is a shame, since the fireball enemy does not show up very often in this game.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 9 of 14

We're slowly making our way towards the end of the game, and it's not getting any easier.

Stage 23 sure has a lot of stairs and ladders. The main thing to keep in mind here is to think fast and be ready to get anywhere at a moment's notice, as hesitation can cost you even at the very start of this level. This is one level that might take some trial and error to clear.

Stage 24 is another one of those big, vast levels similar to Stage 18, but this time you have pipes in addition to ladders and tightropes. Once again, be careful what you're doing, and handle your business at the very bottom of the stage as quickly and as early as possible, use things like holes and torches in the wall as landmarks...and watch out for enemies!

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 8 of 14

Only two stages this time. Besides the fact that the sequel doesn't have a glut of complex pipe puzzles, the sequel has far fewer levels than the first Game Boy game. I like that.

In Stage 21, you'll be doing nothing but dropping down, entering doors and avoiding Daffy Ducks. When you reach the bottom, you'll have to leap your way up with the Up panels to reach the doors that you missed. You should have five keys, the pickaxe and the sledgehammer when you are done with this section. Afterwards, you'll need to use the shield to open the doors and get past all the enemies in the second half of the stage to get all the keys, get to the warp tile and reach the exit.

Stage 22 is a more linear maze. Get the sledgehammer at the start, then get Merlin the Mouse out of the way and push the chest into Sam. From here, start breaking more blocks and exploring the level to open more doors and get more keys. There will be a lot of Sams in the level, and you'll only have limited bombs, so you'll have to be careful what you do as you go through this level. For the door near the Little Ghost, you'll need to approach it from the other side.

Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle II - The Nintendo Power Preview

Ripped by James Sternberg, made into its own segment by Cabbusses.

This laserdisc preview of the game was from around the time the game was re-released as part of the Player's Choice series in America.

Once again, I get stuck on one stage. At least it gets completed.

Stage 20 is the only stage that is covered here...and boy, is it a doozy if you don't know what to do.

There are plenty of pipes and ladders and here, and you'll have to pay close attention to your surroundings. It's also easy to get trapped in a dead end and get done in by one of the enemies. The best advice for going through here is to pay attention to your surroundings, figure out where all the paths will take you and make yourself a path through the level that allows for thinking on one's feet in case someone gets in the way.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 6 of 14

These stages are getting a bit longer to take care of the further we get.

Stage 18 is done in its entirety, because I died near the end last time. D'oh!

Stage 19, thankfully, is a little more linear. Be careful in the pipe maze in the lower corners of the level so you don't get hit. Be sure to use the bombs to your full advantage. After the warp pipe, the exit is to the left through the pipe.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 5 of 14

We tackle a few more stages in this entry. Unlike the first Game Boy game, which has smaller puzzles of varying difficulties - and a lot of pipe mazes - the stages here can either be fairly linear or fairly expansive.

For Stage 15, you'll want to make your way down and go through every door that you can get to in order to collect what you can collect. Amazingly, a lot of the doors contain nothing. You'll need to use a bomb on Tweety in the lower-right corner of the room. By the time you reach the lower-right corner of the stage, you should have all eight keys.

For Stage 16, we get one of the fancier settings in the game. The chest is an item you can push into or onto enemies to get rid of them, and can be used one time. Get the shield so the Dark Merlin won't hurt you. The jug will give you invincibility that lets you destroy enemies on contact, much like the carrot juice from the first game. This one is a bit long and windy, but it won't take you long to figure out where to go.

For Stage 17, you'll be doing more of the same while also traversing through pipes. One of the pipes is a red herring. Once again, it will take trial and error to get to where you need to go, but it can be done. You'll have to get on the warp tile to get to the last few keys.

For Stage 18, you'll be in a vast room full of ladders, tightropes and Merlin the Mouse enemies. The enemies will all eventually make their way to the bottom, but you will still have to be careful in case one of the enemies makes it back upwards. It is pretty easy to get lost here, but thankfully, you can walk between ladders. Thankfully, the sledgehammer is at the beginning of the level, and because of that, things get blown wide open pretty quickly.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 4 of 14

After the relative slog of the last two videos, we storm through more of the game this time with several levels being completed in around twenty minutes. At this point, expect the levels to be bigger, longer and more open. At least there isn't a glut of difficult pipe mazes, unlike the last game.

Stage 10 is linear in appearance at the start, and as long as you can get to every door you see as soon as you see it as quickly as possible, you'll do fine in this area. Just save a bomb for Little Ghost at the end.

Stage 11 has a series of pipes and tightropes in addition to the occasional door. As long as you go around the area as quickly as possible and save the doors in the center of the room for last. There are also a lot of bow and arrow shots throughout the stage, and they will make getting past all the enemies easier. Don't forget the pipe to the right and the Up tile to the left near the end.

Stage 12 is full of pipes, and you'll have to figure out which pipe leads to where to get through here and find the exit. Once you find two keys, start hunting for the exit; you'll find the other six keys when you find the right route that leads to a pipe that runs through the ceiling.

Stage 13 is a pile of rocks. Go left to get the sledgehammer, and pick which rocks to break carefully, so you can get all six keys and the pickaxe before reaching the bottom. If you fail to get all eight, go all the way down and let Foghorn Leghorn kill you.

Stage 14 has a ton of enemies, and with it, a ton of slowdown. You'll have four bombs to use. Use them carefully. You'll find a few more along the way, but you'll want to save two of them for the Little Ghosts inside the brick wall pyramid in case you don't think you can grab the lightning bolt up top.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 3 of 14

We finally make it past Stage 8. Thankfully, I don't have as much problem with a stage as much as I did with that one ever again.

Finally! Stage 8 is done!

For Stage 9, there will be dark colored floor tiles. These will slow you down and cause you to move slowly than on other floors, and you'll have to brave them first before going up and taking the pipe left of the start so you can get the pick-axe. Thankfully, everything after the brick block requiring the pick-axe is pretty easy.

The fireball enemy is from Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout and acts like Little Ghost. You won't see the fireball enemy very often.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 2 of 14

In this entry, we hit a roadblock on Stage 8. As you can see, the level design is more detailed...and more daunting.

For Stage 6, you'll be dropping a bunch of weights on Yosemite Sams, then you'll have to avoid Little Ghosts and maybe shoot an arrow or two as you go through the stage. Stage 7 will have you

The clock will temporarily stop all enemies for a brief time.

The carrot gives you a 1-Up.

Dark Hector only goes up pipes and stairs and never down. Dark Taz go up pipes and stairs on even-numbered stages and down them on odd-numbered stages. Dark Merlin the Mouse acts just like Dark Hector. Dark Wile E. acts just like Dark Taz.

The lightning bolt will kill off all enemies currently on-screen.

The hexagon with the S is a shield, and it will protect you from enemies for a brief time before disappearing.

Stage 8 is the first real roadblock. You'll need to go down before Sam runs into you, then you're going to have to be careful who you use the bow and arrow shots you find in the stage against. That's the plan, but it takes a while to figure out how to do things and get everything solved in the next video.

The shaded floors are floors that you will fall through when you walk onto them.

PrinceWatercress plays The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 - Part 1 of 14

Well, I've played the NES and the Game Boy game...now it's time to check out the sequels! While the consoles were left out, the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance were prime territory for FOUR sequels! Here's the first one!

In this game, Honey Bunny - the love interest from the first game - has been kidnapped, this time by Witch Hazel, and trapped in the very top of a castle.

This time around, instead of carrots, you're picking up eight keys. When you pick up all eight keys, you can enter the door with the padlock on it and end the stage. When you complete a stage, you will get an extra life for completing it.

Left and Right let you move left and right, while Up lets you enter doorways, stairways and pipes, as well as climb up ladders. You can also go down pipes and climb down ladders with Down. Be careful, as pressing Up while not in front of a doorway will cause you to keep moving in the direction you are currently facing. If you go down a stairway (the horizontal non-doorway stairs, you will not be able to stop going down until you are all the way down it. Pressing either button after collecting a boxing glove lets you launch it forward. Simple enough.

Some of the doors take you into rooms. Sometimes, there may be something to pick up in the rooms, sometimes there won't be. When you walk out of them, enemies will freeze in place for a short time when you come back out. Use this to your advantage to get to doors and things that you have trouble getting to. Also, when you've opened a door that leads to a room, the door stays opened afterwards, so you can easily tell where you've been. This is useful, especially in the later levels.

The Up floor panels will send you into the air when you stand on them, and you can hold Left or Right to get onto a platform when you need to. The W floor panel will warp you from one W panel to another.

The bow and arrow lets you attack enemies. If you miss, you can still pick up the arrow and get it again.

The sledgehammer lets you break cracked blocks. When you are using the sledgehammer, you are invincible. The pickaxe lets you vault over brick wall blocks, and you will also be invincible while using it.

Foghorn Leghorn is the most basic enemy, and he will come after you in the . Merlin the Mouse will act like Foghorn Leghorn, while Wile E. Coyote will never use the tightropes (and can climb ladders, unlike the first game). Little Ghost will go after you, but will stay on their own platform and will never walk off the edge. Yosemite Sam acts like Little Ghost, but he will usually go the same direction you do and will never use a tightrope. Sylvester acts just like Yosemite Sam. Taz will act like Wile E. Coyote, but will also go up and down stairway doors. Tweety acts just like Little Ghost. Hector acts like Merlin and Foghorn Leghorn, but he can use the tightropes. Daffy Duck acts just like Sylvester and Yosemite Sam. Beaky Buzzard asks just like Taz and Wile E. Coyote, and do not use the tightropes.

To cross the tightropes, just move into them. Press Down to drop down if you need to.

The bombs can be laid on the ground with the button, and if any enemy runs into it, the bomb will destroy them. Thankfully, you can pick a bomb back up if you need it again, and the bombs only disappear when enemies run into them. You can only have one type of weapon in a stage, so you can't fight with bombs and bows at the same time.

Unlike the first game, which has barely any details and courses and mazes that go all over the place, the second game not only looks better, but also has some stages that are a tad more linear. You'll be following a specific path in some stages, like in Stage and Stage 3.
