PrinceWatercress plays Big Challenge! Gun Fighter - Longplay

...and now, the whole game in one go, minus commentary. Enjoy!

Big Challenge! Gun Fighter is one of four games in Jaleco's Big Challenge! series exclusive to the Japan-only Famicom Disk System. Here, you play as a cowboy, and you shoot down all sorts of bad guys while taking on some tough customers that are taking over the Wild West.

Level 1

Left and Right moves you left and right, Down ducks, A jumps and B shoots. Holding A will give you a little more hangtime than if you just tap it. At the bottom of the screen, you'll see your current health, current amount of money, current amount of bullets and the weapon that you currently have equipped. The number at the bottom-right corner of the weapons window indicates how many enemies you have left to kill before you can fight the enemy boss. If you make it to the end of the stage before reaching that enemy quota, you'll start the level over to fight more enemies and get more bullets. Once you reach the end with zero enemies left to kill, you'll face the level boss. Between the health and the weapons windows are your current amount of lives. You start with three, and if you lose them all, it's game over.

Holding Down and A will allow to switch weapons as well as pause the game. Press A to unpause.

The man you meet at the beginning will give you ten bullets for $50. By shooting down enemies, you can get medicine to refill three units of health, bullets for the gun or bags of money worth $10 each. When you shoot at enemy, wait for them to stop flashing before shooting and hitting them again, or else you will waste bullets.

Enemies include guys running around with guns, guys throwing barrels, snipers whose bullets will follow where you are when they shoot at you, and boxers that rush up to you and punch you.

If the tops of any crates are broken, do not stand on those crates. Those are basically spikes that will hurt you the longer you stand on them. There are also spikes that pop up on the ground, too, so watch out for those. If there's anything in any of the stages that look like odd ground or spikes, don't stand in it as a rule of thumb.

If you talk to the man at the beginning again after looping through the level once, you'll be able to buy ten bullets from him for $50.

To beat the boss, you'll need to press B to activate the target reticle, then move the target reticle over to the man's chest and shoot at him. If the black leather vest flashes, you got a hit in. Whenever you shoot, the target reticle moves to a random location above the boss' head, and you'll need to re-aim before you can fire at the boss again. If you're both quick and accurate, you can get through the boss battles relatively quickly and without harm. You'll also get $50 for beating the boss here.

Level 2

To select between the gun and the knife, hold Down and press A. Use the D-Pad to switch weapons so that the eagle symbol is above the one you want, then press A.

The knife goes quite a far distance when thrown, and it also get thrown upward at an angle. You'll need to get used to how the throwing arc works if you want to effectively use it. The best part about this weapon is that compared to the gun, you have unlimited uses of the knife.

The martial artist enemies can only be hit with the knife, as the gun will have no effect. They will only move to the left, and they will not double back. Since their jump kicks will cause them to be vulnerable to the knife's throwing arc, this makes the knife good to use against them from a distance.

Carefully inch your way forward so you don't get caught out by any snipers.

Any pits that are colored brown will hurt you, so don't fall into those.

When you see the guy that gives you ten bullets for $50, press B to advance the text, then press A to buy the bullets or B to refuse.

When you shoot down enough enemies, you'll take on the second boss. Just like with the first one, you'll need to press B to bring up the target reticle, then aim at the chest with the D-Pad and press B to shoot. Keep firing at the chest until the guy dies. You'll get $20 for beating this battle.

Level 3

You have a new weapon here: the boomerang. While the boomerang does not have the range of the gun or the knife, you can still use it to hit enemies through walls and hit enemies with on its way back.

The ninja jump back and forth, and they are easy to take out if you can anticipate where they are going to go. Some of the ninja enemies can also rush at you.

Unlike the other levels, the man who sells you ammo does not show up here, but if you know what you're doing, you can easily get to 99 bullets here. Since you'll need to loop through the level at least twice to get enough enemies to reach the boss, it's definitely possible.

The white floor damages you, so don't touch it.

The ninja boss may be kneeling, but you can still hit him easily in the chest. Beating him will net you $20, which isn't much unless you combine that with all the money you'll be getting (and saving) from beating up all the enemies around here.

Level 4

In this level, you'll get your fourth and final weapon: the dynamite. This weapon does not travel very far, is thrown at an arc before exploding on the ground, uses five bullets to throw one, and is best for enemies below you. Not surprisingly, you won't get to use it very much outside of this level.

The boxers are back, as are the ninja. This stage is pretty short, but thankfully, the ammo man is back near the end of the stage, and it's easy to keep your ammo topped up as long as you're not playing around with the dynamite.

The boss here is a stranger in a red cloak. Once again, you'll want to shoot at the upper body just below the boss' covered face until he dies. Beating this boss will net you $50.

Level 5

While the ammo salesman is back again at the start of the stage, you'll be using the knife a lot just to take out all the snipers in this stage. Make sure you carefully make your way to the right and don't move forward too quickly, so you can take care of all the guys who have carefully positioned themselves to shoot at you.

The boss here is some guy in a mask and a spear. Once again, his torso is just as vulnerable as all the other bosses'. Beating him nets you $20.

Level 6

For some reason, this is the smoothest level out of the six. If you can memorize the level, you can easily take out all of the enemies as soon as you see them, including the returning barrel throwers. I didn't even have to use the knife for this one!

The boss here seems to be protecting a cave, but since this game has not been translated, there's no way of knowing what's going on here. Just keep shooting this guy in the torso like you did all of the other bosses, and he'll go down. Just keep in mind that he has two guns, which makes it easier for him to get a shot on you.

When you beat this level, you'll beat the game! Congratulations!

It's time for the last level in the game, and it's amazingly smooth and easy to progress through.

PrinceWatercress plays Big Challenge! Gun Fighter - Part 5 of 6

This level is a little more difficult than the last due to all the snipers. Hope you're used to using the knife!

PrinceWatercress plays Big Challenge! Gun Fighter - Part 3 of 6

Since there's no ammo salesman here, this is your chance for some big money as well as some big bullet reserves for the levels ahead. Also, ninja.

Level 3

You have a new weapon here: the boomerang. While the boomerang does not have the range of the gun or the knife, you can still use it to hit enemies through walls and hit enemies with on its way back.

PrinceWatercress plays Big Challenge! Gun Fighter - Part 2 of 6

We have a new weapon in the knife...and you'll need to learn how to use it quickly if you want to get through this level.

Level 2

To select between the gun and the knife, hold Down and press A. Use the D-Pad to switch weapons so that the eagle symbol is above the one you want, then press A.

PrinceWatercress plays Big Challenge! Gun Fighter - Part 1 of 6

Jaleco was actually making games for the Famicom Disk System well past the point when a lot of other developers stopped doing it due to the sturdy cartridges holding more than the unreliable disks as well as more games getting battery back-up and password save systems. Not surprisingly, this is one of those games that you can get through in less than 30 minutes, even if you don't know Japanese.

PrinceWatercress plays Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School - Part 6 of 7

...but it doesn't have to be this way!

For the good ending, pick B ("Truthfully, I don't like you.") followed by the normal emotion. Miho starts fearing the worst. Pick A ("I'm sorry...I mean to say I love you!") followed by the sad emotion. Pick B ("We should go out separate ways"), and this time around, you'll get a new option. Pick it, and you and Miho will finally kiss. Press A twice, and you'll be back at the loading screen. You'll meet everyone in the school just like in the blue ribbon ending, but it gets a little different later on.

This time around, you'll get a different phone number from the one you got in the blue ribbon ending. However, instead of ending the game and going back to the main menu, you'll be at the rooftop of the school. Don't select any options; instead, watch the sun set. Miho will show up disguised as Mizuho again. You'll have one more conversation with Miho, but before the two of you part ways, a horde of media photographers and fans show up, having seen through her disguise. They're now coming for both Miho and you, and you both run. As you go through the dialogue, the media and the fans start catching up and Miho trips and falls. A man on a motorcycle shows up, stops and removes his helmet. It's Masaomi! Masaomi tells you to get on so he can help you get away. The credits roll.

Here's the thing, though. If you waited for Miho after talking to Erica and the Typhoon Trio, you get Masaomi in the ending. If you picked the first option to go back to the classroom, picked the fourth option and used the photo of Miho on Sadakachi twice before talking to him, he'll ask if you want to help him clean his bike after school. Pick the first option to say yes. You'll leave the classroom and run into Miho, realizing you were to wait for her. If you make it to the good ending from here, Sadakichi will be behind the helmet instead of Masaomi. The credits roll.

PrinceWatercress plays Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School - Part 5 of 7

After what happened at the cinema, things take a turn for the worse...

Back home, choose the second option to talk to your mother. She has something for you, but can't remember where it is. Choose the first option, then position the pointing finger between the front of your mother's apron and the bow in the back. She'll give you another phone number with another game hint.

You'll head back to school. Word is out that you ditched Erica in her own mansion. You'll hear from the principal, the vice principal, the Typhoon Trio, Erica herself, and then Masaomi.

You'll then head to the music room. Pick the fourth option and use it on the rightmost piano keys. Pick the second option and point at the ridge between the keys and the hinge on the right-hand side. You'll find something. Pick the third option and take the thing you find. It's a key to the locker room! Pick the first option and you'll head to the lockers. (The hint for all this is in one of the phone numbers, hence why this feels so random.)

At the lockers, pick the second option and point at the second locker from the right on the bottom row. You'll notice this is the locker you want. Use the fourth option, then use the second option to unlock the locker. Use the third option to take the blue bag inside, then pick the lone option, which is the inventory. Pick the third option (which is the blue bag). Inside is a knitted sweater. Look in the inventory again and pick the third option, which is the sweater. Inside the sweater is another phone number with another game hint. From there, you can leave with the lone option you have.

You'll be at the cafe again. Go to the fifth option to view the inventory, then pick the third option to look at the knitted sweater. Press A, and the waitress will tell you that Miho will be here but is running a little late. Press A again, then pick the third option and you'll get some coffee. Pick the fourth option to drink the coffee. After ordering coffee and drinking it three times, Miho will show up. After some conversation, you'll get another section where you see Miho's face.

Choose option B ("It's delightful, but it's hopeless"), then pick the "unimpressed" face. For the next choice, pick A ("But I've been glad to really meet you") and pick the normal face. For the next option, pick B ("Are you saying you're not sure?") followed by the normal face. From here, you'll be able to pick between one of two options in the next choice. Picking A (Of course I love you!) followed by the normal face, then pick B ("We should go our separate ways") and the sad face.

You'll eventually return to school. You'll hear from the vice principal, the principal, Sadakichi (why did I call him Masaomi?), the Typhoon Trio, Erica (who isn't as much of a jerk this time) and Masaomi (who now looks at Erica every other second). The main character will kick himself for blowing his chance at true love with Miho, and then you'll get a phone number.

You'll then flash back to Miho and what could have been, followed by a picture of Miho singing on stage. When you return to the title screen and look at your save file, you'll see a gift box with a blue ribbon, signifying you got the bad ending.

Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School Commercial

Here's the commercial for the game, which summarized the plot of the game and even mentioned the prizes (in Japanese, of course).

PrinceWatercress plays Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School - Part 4 of 7

The situation with Erica has driven a wedge between our hero and Miho! How will our hero pull through?

Since Miho isn't here, we head back home. The main character's brother is here, so use the first command to talk to him. He'll give you another phone number. You head back to the cafe, but stuff goes through the main character's mind, and wonders if Miho knows about the whole thing with you and Erica that you reluctantly agreed to, but shake it off and realize that whatever happens will happen and that you'll be able to take care of it.

You'll be back at the cafe, and Miho will be there without her disguise. Turns out she does know what happened with you and Erica, and doesn't want any part of it. Select Option D. This time around, you'll be able to pick an emotion to go along with it, and if you screw this part up, more than likely it's going to be game over. Choose the face that makes you look like you're unimpressed (the one with the straight slits for eyebrows and the triangular frown).

From there, pick A (where you call yourself an idiot) and choose the normal emotion, which is the one you have right now. When she asks what happened, pick A ("It's a long story...") Thankfully, you don't have to pick an emotion for this one. Pick A for the yes/no question that comes after. From there, pick B ("You do understand how I feel.") and pick the normal emotion. Congrats, you and Miho are friends again!

When the screen transitions back to the cafe, there will be a guy looking out the window. Quickly pick the first option so he runs off! Miho will soon be worried, as it could be a member of the media. Pick Option C ("You'll be safe if you stay with me."), and she will be reassured. Pick A ("Don't worry anymore."), then pick A again (it's the only option here) and use the normal emotion. Pick A ("What is your favorite type?" - the only option here) and use the normal emotion again.

You'll head back home. Pick the first option and talk to your brother. He'll give you another phone number. Pick the first option to talk to your brother again, and he'll give you advice for the date. You'll then realize you need to get a gift for her. Choose the first option to leave the house, and from here, you'll get the gift and head to the cafe. Miho will show up. Choose option C, the cinema, when she asks what you want to do. For the next option, pick B (Stand by Miho). You'll both head to the cinema.

Choose the second option to talk to Miho, then pick Option B ("You can talk during the movie."). From there, pick the third option to give her something, then use the second item (the gift you bought for the date). From here, you have seven options to choose from. Pick the fourth one, which allows you to hold hands with Miho. From there, pick the fifth one, which lets you hold her shoulder. Next, pick the sixth one, which lets you kiss her. Unfortunately, she's not ready for the big kiss yet...

To make matters worse, Erica's goons are here! The date's ruined now, so now it's time to get out of here.

You'll be back home...

PrinceWatercress plays Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School - Part 3 of 7

You've scored the date with Miho, but somebody isn't too thrilled about that.

You'll meet Erica and the Typhoon Trio. Erica has suddenly taken an interest in you. They'll disappear, then Masaomi says something and walks off. When he leaves, you'll be able to do commands again.

You have two options: pick the first command and go to the classroom, or pick the third one which allows you to wait for Miho. We'll be doing the waiting option, but we'll be doing the other command when we come back to this point later in the series.

You'll have to pick the wait command (the third one) three times before Miho finally shows up. She'll be in her disguise and you'll be able to talk to her again. Pick the first option.

When you finally talk to Miho, pick B, ("I don't often walk home with girls.") From there, pick A, ("What do you mean by that?") Then choose B, "I work hard." Suddenly, Miho will be worried, so pick B, ("Sorry, I didn't mean that...") Miho will ask how it is to walk home with her, pick option B. ("Walking home with you is great.") She'll be happy. Choose B, ("Would you like to walk to school tomorrow?") She'll be delighted to. Choose B )"What are you doing on Sunday?") She'll tell you that she's free, and asks the same of you. Pick A, ("Would you like to go out on a date?") She says yes!

You'll head back home, but suddenly you will be confronted by three shady men in suits who want you to come with them. You won't have much of a choice, and you'll be in a building where the Typhoon Trio are dressed up. Turns out you're in Erica's mansion, and Erica is in a formal white dress. Choose the second option to talk to Erica, and she'll ask if this dress fits her. Choose "yes." There will then be some tea on the table. Pick A or B to take the tea. Erica asks if you would like to go out with her. Believe it or not, you have to choose "Yes" to advance the plot. You'll reluctantly go out on a date with her. Erica will then ask if you would like some tea again. Pick C to refuse. There will be some roast chicken on the table. Pick the fourth option to take it, and point the hand at the chicken and press A to put it in your inventory.

From here, pick the fifth option, which allows you to escape the option. Erica will be shocked and sic her guard dog Alex on you. Pick the fourth option and pick the second item, which is the chicken. The dog will be focused on the chicken and you will finally be out of Erica's grasp.

You'll make it to the cafe, and Miho hasn't arrived yet...

PrinceWatercress plays Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School - Part 2 of 7

After we head home, we find out something unusual about Mizuho...

After you make it home, advance through the text and pick the second option to talk to your brother, who is moping around and sitting at the kotatsu. You'll learn he'll be doing a photoshoot for Miho Nakayama, and he'll give you another phone number with another gameplay hint.

Keep pressing A, and you'll eventually be back at school. You'll break the news to Sadakichi, and Sadakichi is thrilled. After you go through some more dialogue, you'll be back at home. Your brother isn't there, but your mother, who was in the background the last time you were home, is. She gives you another phone number with another gameplay hint.

She then puts a photograph your brother took on the kotatsu, assuming you would be interested in it. Pick the first option and put the cursor on the photograph, then pick the second option to take it. It's a picture of Miho Nakayama, but she seems to be holding a mascot that looks awfully like the one Mizuho dropped at school. Pick the sole option available and move it to the mascot, and our hero will finally put two and two together. Miho and Mizuho are the same person!

You'll then be back at school with Sadakichi. Choose the second option to talk to Sadakichi, then choose the first option. Pick the sole option available and you'll run into the vice principal, who is amazingly busy. Choose the second option and move the cursor so that it points at his necktie. Do this twice. After you give the vice principal a hard time, he'll leave.

Choose the first option, and you'll meet up with the principal, who talks to you for a while. When he's gone, pick the first option.

You'll be at the music room, and Mizuho will be there. Choose the second option, which allows you to call out to a certain person, and pick the first option, which is Mizuho. You'll finally talk to Mizuho, and you'll get a choice between Option A and Option B. Pick Option B, which lets you tell Mizuho you'd like to talk to her. Then, pick A, which signifies you've transferred here. Pick A ("I'd like for us to be friends.") Then, pick B, which allows you to tell her that the mascot in Miho's picture strongly resembles hers. She panics and doesn't really know what to do. The main character then says that the photographer was his brother. For a while, Mizuho - or Miho, in this case - doesn't know what to do, but the main character soon apologizes. Miho says she left school at 17 to become a pop star and is now finishing school up under the secret identity of Mizuho Takayama in order to avoid press coverage. The main character then agrees to walk Miho home after she accepts his apology.

PrinceWatercress plays Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School - Part 1 of 7

This is quite possibly the most unconventional game I've covered on the channel so far. Wanted to play through this for a while, and I'm definitely glad that I have.

This game is widely considered the grandfather of all those dating simulation games back in Japan, as well as one of the few video games out there to use a J-Pop Idol as its launchpad and selling point.

Why did I do this game? Because I have a copy of Miho's "Catch the Nite" album from 1988 and it's really not that bad.

The game begins with you, the main character, having transferred to a new school. The main character has seen all of Miho's TV appearances and has all of her records. You'll eventually run across a guy with a big head in the classroom who stares at you. Choose the first option (examine), then move the hand cursor to the guy's head and press A. You'll finally notice he's staring at you. Choose the second option (talk) and and you'll talk to the guy. His name is Sadakichi, and he just so happens to be a big fan of Nakayama Miho as well. The first thing he does is give you the number to Miho Nakayama's fan hotline, which is (well, was, in this case) a real phone number.

Back during the game's release, the phone numbers in the game gave you clues from Miho Nakayama herself. You would be able to hear Miho Nakayama's voice as she gave you gameplay hints over the phone. These phone numbers were discontinued after the original print run of the game and its contest ran their course, and a subsequent print run not only gave you the numbers, but put said hints on the screen. Also, you wouldn't be able to dial these numbers anyway, due to changes in area codes in the Japanese phone number system. Press B to exit out of this screen.

Talk to Sadakichi again with the second option, then you'll notice the first option has changed. Select it, and you'll leave the classroom only to run into a young girl. She'll drop something when you bump into her, then you'll talk to her, but not for long. Press A, and she leaves. You'll see Sadakichi. Pick the first option, then move the cursor so the pointer finger is on the thing that she just dropped. Press A on it, and you'll take it. The third option will change. Select it to examine it, and you'll find out it's some sort of mascot.

You'll then three girls known as the Typhoon Trio. According to Sadakichi, whenever they appear, a terrible storm is about to happen. After they disappear and Sadakichi talks to you, pick the second option to talk to Sadakichi again. You'll meet Erica, a rich, competitive girl looking for love. Pick the second option, she'll talk to you, and then you'll have to select it again to get more text. You'll talk to Sadakichi again, and you now have the ability to leave with the first option. Pick it.

When you do, you'll run Masaomi, a rich, handsome jock of a young man who happens to be a bit of a playboy. After your conversation, select the second option, and he'll disappear. You'll meet the Typhoon Trio again talking about Masaomi, then they'll disappear. Sadakichi will show up and tell you there is a classroom where the girls are changing from their school outfits to their gym outfits. Select the second option and you'll get a peek at two of the girls changing. Press A, and you'll run into the girl you bumped into earlier. Talk to her with the second option, and she'll tell you she's dropped her mascot. Select the third option, and select the only option in the next menu. You'll give it back and you'll get a slightly longer conversation with the girl.

The girl will thank you, and tells you her name is Mizuho. After some more conversation, you'll be back in the hallway with Sadakichi. After the conversation, you'll head back home, where your brother will be waiting for you.

The best (worst?) epilogue ever!

The only commercials for the game, which provided the only real hints for the game outside of video game magazines.

Two people were actually brave enough to interpret the game's music their own way.

Oh, Japan, what won't you do?

DeceasedCrab plays Takeshi no Chousenjou aka Takeshi's Challenge - Part 5 of 5

"Well, he sure showed us."

Mountain Cave - 4th Screen

Just go left and you win!

Forgot to resign from your job? Game over. Forgot to divorce your wife? Game over. Forgot to punch out the old man at the karaoke bar? Game over. If you did all three of these things, though, you win!

Enjoy your crappy ending!

CM Punk is not impressed.

DeceasedCrab plays Takeshi no Chousenjou aka Takeshi's Challenge - Part 4 of 5

Don't even ask how you're supposed to figure this out, because I don't even know.

Village

Go right until you reach the hut on the hill, avoiding the monkey's coconuts (you'll be using the A+B cheat for this, since they cause massive damage). Go into this hut.

Shrine

Give the hermit the canteen, and he'll give you a hint: the villagers have the key to the treasure. Get it from them.

Village

Go back to the hut with the pot.

Native House

Give the guy in the house a present: the poetry. He'll give you the island's sacred rock. This is a weapon that replaces the punch, but you're better off using the gun as it does more damage.

Village

From there, go right and jump onto the top of the hill. (Hold Down and press A to do a high jump, as this is the only way to reach it. You have to stand between the fourth and fifth tile and hold Down to enter the mountain cave.

Mountain Cave - 1st Screen

Go left until a big rock appears on the floor (the second rock). Stay on the right side of it, and press Down on the space between the last two flat parts. You'll immediately enter the 2nd screen if you do this right.

Mountain Cave - 2nd Screen

Start going right. Near the end, there is a set of three circular rocks below three stalactites on the ceiling. Duck between the first and second circular rock. You should immediately drop into the third screen.

Mountain Cave - 3rd Screen

Go left to the end of the room. There is a part where there are two thin platforms, each with a small circular platform to the left of it. This is just before you see a rock on the floor. Duck under the one on the left.

DeceasedCrab plays Takeshi no Chousenjou aka Takeshi's Challenge - Part 3 of 5

Now that all that hi-jinx is out of the way, let's go to the South Pacific and do things for no reason whatsoever.

Also, if I were to either write a whole blog series drunk or do a non-existent game, it'd probably look like this.

Joy Joy Street

Go all the way to the right and go up.

Airport Entrance

Go all the way to the right and enter New Narita International Airport.

Air Port

Go right until the plane flies. Since you've done everything you need to do, the plane won't explode in mid-flight and cause an automatic game over.

Air Port

Go right until you exit again. You'll be in the South Pacific with new clothing.

South Pacific

Go right and to the bank. Enter.

Bank

Press Up at the woman at the desk and choose Exchange. Leave.

South Pacific

The next building to the right is the hotel. Enter.

Ho-Tel

Go to the desk and choose Deluxe. Leave after you stay the night.

South Pacific

Next building to the right is Miyage. Enter.

Souvenir

Go up to the woman at the desk and buy the Poetry.

South Pacific

Skip the Casino and go to Equipment. Enter.

Equ-Ipment

Buy the Canteen. Leave, re-enter, and buy the Gun. Now go to your Inventory, choose "Weapon" and press a button to attack with a gun. You now have the gun equipped. Leave.

South Pacific

Go right to the Resort Center. Enter.

Resort

Press Up at the woman at the desk and choose Hang Gliding.

Hang Gliding

If you touch a gust of wind, you can go up. If you touch a bird, you die. Thankfully, you can shoot the birds, but you can still die in one hit. If you miss with a bullet, you have to wait for it to go all the way across the screen before you can shoot again.

You can't go up unless you hit a gust of wind, so be careful.

After you make it past the second island, you'll start seeing UFOs. After the third, you'll see both UFOs and birds.

When you make it to the fourth island, land on the very left side of it. You'll enter the island. If you go past it, you'll reach the Red Country, plunge into the mountains and die.

Village

Go to the right and destroy everyone, because they all want you dead.

Enter the fourth hut.

Native House

Choose "Where Is The Treasure?" When the guy in the house puts you in the pot, play the shamisen. He'll let you go and tell you to see the hermit who lives on this island. Leave.
