It's time for another short game with a Sega Master System beat-'em-up that originally used the Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star license. It's like Last Battle, but simpler and on an older console!
You are Riki, and your rival Wang has kidnapped your girlfriend Kyoko! You'll have to go through six rounds in order to save her.
Round 1
Left and Right let you move left and right, Down lets you duck, Up lets you jump, and holding Down briefly before pressing Up lets you superjump. You will need to use the superjump to pick up the power-ups that fly over your head every so often throughout the game. Button 1 punches and Button 2 kicks.
The enemies here aren't that much of a problem. Just hit them before they hit you.
The red "chikara" logo gives you invincibility that lasts for ten hits. As long as the music is different, you'll be invincible. The sushi refills some of your health, but you can also refill it bit by bit if you can defeat several normal enemies without getting hit. You also get health for beating mini-bosses throughout the chapter.
To defeat the man throwing the axes, jump over the axes and keep jump kicking towards him. If you can corner him, keep kicking while on the ground.
To defeat the man with the staff, back up a bit, then jump forward and kick him. If he gets too close, punch him.
To defeat the guy with the claws, keep rocking the D-Pad left and right. When he superjumps, get close to him so you can kick him while on the ground as he comes back down.
To defeat the big man wearing black, just get in close and punch him.
To beat Ryu, step back a bit, then jump forward and kick him. From there, move back a bit again and jump kick him. Keep doing this, and if you corner him, back away when he moves past you. When you get his health low enough, you'll need to punch him in order to finish him off.
Round 2
The enemies here - who look like Road Warrior Hawk from the Legion of Doom, by the way - will sometimes superjump towards you. Pay attention, and use a punch or kick where appropriate to hit them before they can do damage.
The white sushi rolls refill your health.
Use jump kicks against the guy with the whip, and if he jumps, try to anticipate where he will land and kick him as he comes down. If you can corner him, keep kicking.
To beat the big guy who throws the knives, you'll need to watch where the knives go and jump over them, especially the low ones. Use jump kicks to clear the distance and get hits in, and use punches when in close.
To beat Hawk, you'll need to jump kick him in the face and punch him when you get close enough. If he throws a boomerang, you're too far away; use super-jumps to clear the distance. If he moves past you when you get in close, be ready to punch him. Otherwise, keep jump kicking him. Unlike Ryu, it doesn't matter what your last blow is; you'll automatically defeat him.
