PrinceWatercress plays WWF Royal Rumble (Super NES/Genesis) - Part 2 of 16

Man, the New Generation era was weird. It's almost like creative didn't know what to do with Lex Luger, even after he became the pro-American babyface/Hulk Hogan v2.0.

Ah, Crush, before he became a "jailbird" and before he became leader of The Disciples of Apocalypse. Before that, he was Crush of Demolition - the third man that was introduced later into Demolition's run, mind you - before Demolition disappeared due to The Legion of Doom stealing their thunder. He did some pretty interesting stuff, such as fighting Doink at WrestleMania 9 (what a weird finish that was) and nearly slamming Yokozuna on the USS Intrepid on July 4th, 1993 (which lead to him putting his back out as well as a heel turn when he came back).

Also, the early days of Lex Luger in the WWF/WWE are weird. Before he was "Made In The U.S.A." he was "The Narcissist" and was briefly managed by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan when he debuted at WrestleMania 9 against Mr. Perfect, with Heenan saying Luger was "beyond perfect." That didn't last for long, but man, did that entrance led to some brutal enhancement talent beatdowns on Superstars. It was also nice how his motorcycle accident and the steel plate in his forearm prior to his WWF/WWE run was utilized in his chases for the WWF Championship by means of having the forearm covered up.
