Not gonna lie, as much as I appreciate "The Model" Rick Martel being in the Genesis/Mega Drive version of this game, he still feels like the odd man out.
Ah, Shawn Michaels, the Heartbreak Kid. He was popular as one-half of The Rockers with Marty Jannetty, but when Shawn forcefully split that team up in 1992, Shawn was on the up-and-up, and this started a huge rise to superstardom that nobody could have seen coming at the time. He was still a big mid-card champion (he would win the WWF Intercontinental Championship three times between 1992 and 1995), but when he beat Bret "The Hit Man" Hart for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 12, he had finally arrived. The rest is history.
And then there's "The Model" Rick Martel. He was more or less on the way out in the mid-1990s; Martel had been in the WWF since 1980, and was originally part of Strike Force with Tito Santana until he turned on Santana, became a bad guy and became "The Model." At this point, he was in the lower mid-card and did not do much; he did face Razor Ramon for the vacant WWF Intercontinental Championship in the latter half of 1993, however.
