In this episode, the Float Islands theme comes back with a vengeance!
Yeah, I love it, too.
Level 3: Ripple Field
Level 3-1
The Parasol ability that you can get from the Parasol enemy in the first section will protect you against the coconuts that fall off the palm trees and explode. Ditch it after that last coconut, because you're about to find another ability: Stone. Using this will (of course) turn Kirby into a rock. Yes, you can roll down hills.
The second section is the first underwater part of the game. It's definitely not the last, either. Unlike the first KDL game, you can actually shoot a water gun much like you could in Kirby's Adventure. Powers also work, but some of them work to a lesser effect.
You'll find a door that leads to a short corridor full of those enemies that stick to the floor and ceiling and shoot bubbles at you. When you make it to the other side, there's the goal.
Level 3-2
The first section is not only all vertical, it's a piece of cake if you still have the Stone ability from the last stage. Just position yourself in the center of the pit and use the Stone ability. You'll drop straight down and go through the Gordo unfazed.
The second section has some strong currents coming out of those pipes. After those two sets of pipes (swim close to the pipes to avoid the spikes), enter the door between the nooks with the stars. You'll meet a giant squid mini-boss.
This guy is a bit of a pain. Avoid his close-range spark attack as well as the lightning bolts and electric shockwaves he sends at you. When he throws a star, jump and inhale to catch it so you can throw it back at him.
When you beat this guy, you can swallow him to get the Spark ability. You'll also get a chance to take a ride with Kine the Fish. This guy will prove quite useful when you leave the room, as you can use him to swim against the strong currents unfazed. With this, you'll be able to get the four stars near the door to the mini-boss. Also, you can swim solely by using the Control Pad.
When you head down and to the door to the next section, you'll be in a dark room when you reach the other side. If you have Kine and the Spark ability from earlier, you can light this room up. As you do this, you'll be able to find hidden doors and messages while the room is lit up, making this combination useful for more than blasting enemies with light bulbs from the opposite end of the room.
By doing that, you'll be able to find a door at the beginning of the third section that takes you a hidden room with five stars. You'll also be able to find Sparky from Kirby's Adventure after this door.
The fourth section has you back out in the open. From here, it's another short trip to the goal.
