DeceasedCrab plays Iji - Part 3 of 35

It's Sector 2...and the Tasen are going to regret destroying the planet...

Sector 2

0:41 - The grey logs are help logs supplied to you by Dan. This first one tells you about this Security door, which you have to crack to open. Remember, the higher your Crack stat, the better you'll be at this.

To use and connect to it, press C. You'll be given information on the Security door. If you want to Crack it, press C again. If not, press Enter. You'll see a series of nodes. Your green node is in the upper-left corner of the node map; move it to the red node with the arrow keys without hitting the flickering, dark blue nodes.

1:10 - The Security level of the door indicates the Crack level you'll have to be at to open it yourself. There's also a Security box here - do not shoot it, as it destroys the contents. Instead, crack it. This works the same was as the Security doors.

Inside this box is the Resonance Detonator. Select it with 5 or Q. (Q will work as an alternate button for the Komato weapons later on.) It sends out a shockwave that works more or less like your kick. It has infinite ammo, but the reload time is far slower compared to your default shotgun, so you probably won't be using it for a while.

1:40 - You can also Crack the Nanofields of Tasen soldiers. However, you have to sneak up on them to work, and if it fails, they will notice you. Weak enemies will die, stronger enemies will lose half of their hitpoints and their weapons may backfire as a side effect of this. You'll need a high Crack stat to do this, but once you have that it's worth trying out, as enemies drop ammunition, even if they normally don't.

1:58 - DeceasedCrab raises his Health stat. Doing this gives you another two HP for your health bar.

2:01 - Here's the Nanoweapon station. This lets you combine two weapons to make a newer, more powerful one than what you had before. This sometimes involves a very high Crack stat, but once again, it's worth it at times.

If you want to read Dan's hints again, hit Escape to check the Pause Menu.

2:11 - DeceasedCrab gives himself a Level 4 Crack Stat. Combining the Shotgun and the Resonance Detonator gives you the Resonance Reflector. It bounces certain enemy shots - rockets, MPFB and shocksplinter shots back. If you're wondering how to time it, it's like a Guard Impact in Soul Calibur or a Deflect in Prince of Persia for XB360/PS3.

You can also select the Resonance Detonator with A or D, then press S to get the Reflector. So you can use the other weapons...nice.

2:28 - The music changes to that of a hard rock soundtrack. Time to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and we're all out of gum.

2:51 - After bringing his strength back up and kicking down a door, DeceasedCrab sends a rocket back at a slightly stronger Tasen soldier. The Resonance Reflector at work.

4:06 - After taking this elevator up, it breaks. After this, it's "Hey, y'all! Watch this!" minus some redneck dying.

5:21 - After landing at the bottom of this lift shaft, we get more of these purple things.

5:42 - Oh, crap, they know who you are...I think...

6:32 - This is the first one-time checkpoint you'll see in the game. Using it lets you continue here if you die, but only once...

6:56 - Here's the first Nanoboost in the game. If you play aggressively, you'll mostly get the more powerful stuff; if you play passively, it's always the lower spectrum of boosts that revolve more around stealth and survival. Nevertheless, the effect you get from it is always random.

7:13 - Turrets! These things are so weak, you can actually kick them clear off the pedestal, and then kick them into other enemies! Aren't they great? But beware...they'll pack more of a punch later in the game.

7:48 - This computer, when turned off, opens the security door that blocks the medical bay.

8:46 - The first of two jump upgrades. This lets you jump noticeably higher and reach places you normally wouldn't reach before.

9:13 - Another of Mia's ribbons lies in this vent...

9:40 - Rocket jumping. You'll see this in a few spots throughout the game.
