PrinceWatercress plays Ka-Blooey - Part 16 of 25

Not only do the levels start getting big again, but they also get a little harder again. Also, we get to see Level 83, which was removed from the game when it was brought to Nintendo Switch Online (due to the game not being released officially in Europe until then).

Level 81

Hit the center left switch (referred to here as the "left switch"). Move the nearby small and medium bombs two tiles to the right. Detonate the small bomb north of the center tile. Move the small bomb on the north slot tiles up one, then detonate the small bomb on the regular tile. Hit the upper left switch (referred to here as the "up switch"). Detonate the small and medium bombs moved near the "left switch", then hit the lower left switch (referred to here as the "down switch"). Move the medium bombs on the east slot tiles one tile up, then detonate the small bomb on the regular tile and and hit the lower right switch (referred to here as the "right switch"). Place the medium bomb two tiles right of the medium bomb near the temple, then place another medium bomb two tiles north of the previously placed medium bomb near the "right switch," and place a third medium bomb north of the mine in the lower right corner. Place the remaining small bombs north of the medium bomb near the mine. Detonate the middle small bomb and step to the right.

Level 82

Watch for the enemy as you do all this. Move the medium bomb all the way to the left. Place one small bomb near each mine. Place a medium bomb two tiles left from the innermost mine in the center spiral. Place one small bomb south of the medium bomb. With the three small bombs on the left, detonate the upper one first, then the lower one, then the middle one. When the enemy passes by, detonate the small bomb you placed south of the medium bomb to destroy the enemy and two of the mines. From here, make your way backwards around the stage and detonate the small bombs you placed next to all the mines. Detonate the final small bomb you placed near the mine at the start, then detonate the small aerial bomb. Detonate the small bomb next to the medium bomb in the center of the stage, then detonate the remaining small bomb.

Level 83

This level was censored out of the Nintendo Switch Online version of the game, which was the game's first official release in Europe (where it had already been on the home micros under its original name Bombuzal, as the slot tiles made the shape of a swastika. On the cartridge versions for both Super Nintendo and Super Famicom, this level remains intact, but if you play your way to Level 83 or input the password for it on Nintendo Switch Online (NBJL, as it is the American version that is on the service), you'll be kicked forward to Level 84.

Place the medium aerial bombs on the corners, the large aerial bomb in the center, and the small aerial on the bottom-most center tile. Detonate the small aerial bomb, then step to the right.

Level 84

Go left three times. Detonate the swell bomb when it is small. Go right, down, then left. Send the red guy into the mine on the right. Go down twice, then left into the teleporter. Detonate the small bomb and move up, hit the switch and enter the nearby (left) teleporter in the lower left corner. Hit switch in the upper left corner, then detonate the bomb. Go back to where the red guy was and place the small bomb on the slot tiles to the south up one tile. Hit the nearby switch twice to summon the red guy and simultaneously get rid of the bomb. Go back to the right teleporter in the lower right corner. On the way, detonate the small bomb, hit the switch in the upper left corner, then get back into the right teleporter. Hit the nearby switch again, then enter the left teleporter in the lower right corner. Send red guy to the medium aerial in the upper left corner, then take the right teleporter in the lower left corner again. Go right across the ice. Make a small-medium-large line in the square of slot tile - large in the upper left corner, medium in the lower left corner, and small in the lower right corner. Go back across the ice to the left teleporter in the lower left corner and enter that teleporter. Detonate the last bomb and move up.

Level 85

Go right two times. Detonate. Go down, left, left, then down. Detonate. Go right three times, then up one time. Detonate. Go left three times, then up one time. Detonate. Go left, then down two times. Detonate. Go down, right three times, up, then right. Detonate. Go down two times, then left. Detonate. Go left four times. Detonate. Go up two times, left, then down. Go the last small bomb and detonate it, then move up.

Level 86

Detonate the small aerial bomb in the lower right corner, then move up or left. This gets rid of all the bombs and the tiles will spell "C+VG," a reference to Computer and Video Games Magazine in the UK.

Level 76

Switch the medium and large bombs at the slot tiles. Take the blue guy up, left, down, then left and detonate the small bomb. Detonate the small bomb to the left and go back, then detonate the bomb to the immediate north and step back. Go to the nearby small aerial bomb, detonate it and go right. Detonate the large bomb and enter the teleporter. Detonate the small bombs.

Level 77

Detonate the small bomb at the start, then go right, right, up, left, left and then down. Move the small bomb on the slot tiles up on tile, and move the medium bomb down one tile. Hit the switch in the lower right corner. Hit the switch in the upper left corner. Go down and left, then detonate the small bomb and move up.

Level 78

Detonate the small bomb in the lower right corner. Go up twice, then detonate. Go left, then detonate. Go down twice, then detonate. Go right, up, up, then right and detonate. Go left three times and detonate. Go up twice and detonate. Detonate the middle bomb in the upper right corner and move down.

Level 79

Hit the switch at the start and avoid the ball enemy. Hit the switch to the south of the one at the start twice to eliminate the ball enemy by getting it to drop in the water. Detonate the small bomb near this second switch. Detonate the small bomb between the mine and the teleporter, then enter the teleporter. Send the red guy into the swell bomb when the swell bomb is medium. Detonate the remaining small bomb and enter the teleporter.

Level 80

Enter the teleporter in the lower left corner. Go right two times and up three times, then detonate the bomb. Go all the way back down and hit the switches in the lower right corner. Go back to the switch near the lower left corner and hit it. Detonate the nearby small aerial bomb. Hit the switch on the right near the teleporter in the lower right corner, then enter the teleporter. Detonate the small bomb south of the start when the swell bomb is at medium and move down. Detonate the small bomb in the lower left corner. Hit the lower left switch. Enter the teleporter in the lower right corner teleporter. Go to the upper right corner and surround the lower left corner tile in the slot tiles with medium bombs. Hit the switch on the way to the upper left corner. Go back to the small aerial bomb near the lower left corner and detonate it, then hit the switch. Hit the right switch near the teleporter in the lower right corner, the enter the teleporter. Hit the switch near the lone bomb in the upper right corner. Go back to the small aerial bomb and detonate it.

Level 71

Hit the switch in the lower left corner of the starting area. Go right, down, right, down, then right from the lower right corner of the starting area. Take the red guy to the bottom center, hit the switch, then detonate the nearby mine. Go north from the start. Detonate the large bomb. Hit the switch to the east. Take the small bombs to the small mines and detonate. Go to the small aerial bomb at the upper right corner and detonate.

Level 72

Detonate the large bomb at the north temple. Put the three small aerials on the second line of the slot tiles, and a fourth one on the center tile in the third line. Leave a gap on the tile right from the center one on the third line. Detonate the bomb in the center of the "small aerial T" and move up.

Level 73

Go to the upper right corner. Take the red guy through the cracked tiles to the mine in the lower left corner. Detonate an aerial bomb near a regular tile and step away. The tiles will spell out "THE ONE."

Level 74

Move the small bomb on the slot tiles at the start one tile to the right. Head to the right and set up a small-small-medium-large bomb line from the upper left tile in the set all the way down. Go left, then place the medium bomb in the lower right slot tile and leave the small aerial bomb left of it. Go back to the start. For all of slot title sets, place all bombs one tile to the left. Detonate the small bomb in the upper right corner and move left.

Level 75

Go left, then up. Detonate the small bomb. Go up twice and detonate the small bomb. Go left, then down. Detonate the small bomb. Go right, then down. Detonate the small bomb. Go left, left, down, then down. Detonate the small bomb. Go up and detonate the small bomb. Go up again and detonate the next small bomb. Go up, then right. Detonate the small bomb. Go left twice, then detonate the small bomb. Go down, detonate the final small bomb, and move down again.

The levels are starting to become a little bit bigger as we start off the second half of the game.

Level 66

Hit the switch, then wait in the lower right corner for the enemy. Go left, up, up, left, left, then detonate the small bomb and go left. Go right, then hit the switches and go up to the mine in the north end of the level. Detonate the small bomb, then go left. Go right, then detonate the rest of the bombs you see in the upper left corner.

Level 67

Go left, up, right. Detonate. Go down, then left. Detonate. Go left, detonate, then go right, up, right and down. Detonate. Go left, then down. Detonate. Go right, detonate, go right again, then detonate the bomb and go up. Then, go up, then left, and detonate. Go left and detonate the final bomb, then go left again.

Level 68

Place one large bomb near each temple. Detonate the large bombs first, then the small ones. When in doubt, detonate the northern-most large bombs first. Watch for the enemies throughout. (Thankfully, you can stand on the temples if you need to avoid enemies.)

Level 69

Detonate the small bomb in the lower left corner. Detonate the small bomb near the red guy at the start. Take the red guy to the small mine in the lower left corner. Take the long path at the top to the right. Hit the switch near the mine. Take the red guy to the large mine at the start. Detonate the nearby small bomb when the nearby swell bomb is medium. Go back left, detonate the small bomb and go up. Go back to the start and enter the bottom teleporter. Take the small bomb on the slot tiles to the medium. Take the blue guy to the lone medium bomb. Detonate the small bomb down and to the left, then detonate the small bomb on the slot tiles near the medium bomb. Hit the switch. Detonate the small aerial bomb. Detonate the medium bomb and step into the teleporter. (The tiles spell out the word "MULE.")

Level 70

Go down and hit the switch, then enter the nearby teleporter. Go down twice, detonate the medium bomb and go down again to enter the teleporter. Place small and medium aerial bombs at the ends of the slot tiles, with the small aerial all the way to the right and the medium aerial next to it, and place the large aerial bomb in the lower right tile of the "square." Detonate the small aerial. Detonate the bomb in the lower right corner. Hit the nearby switch surrounded by bombs. Detonate the trail of bombs near the upper right corner and step left onto the cracked tile. Detonate the lone small bomb at left. Go to the swell bomb, then go up and right. Detonate the bomb, then go left and down. Detonate the small bomb when the swell bomb is medium. Detonate the small bombs near the mines. Go to the upper left corner, then detonate the small bomb near the mine and go up. Go down, then hit the switch near the swell bomb. Detonate the small bomb that appears when the nearby swell bomb is at medium.

We're back on track on the levels - for now - as we make it halfway through the game. One thing is for sure: the game sure knows how to stay interesting with the puzzles.

Level 61

Enter the top teleporter. Detonate one of the small bombs, the enter the top teleporter. Take the blue guy to the teleporter, then detonate the other small mine. Enter the top teleporter. Line up slot tile bombs from upper left tile, detonate the bomb left of the teleporter, then enter the teleporter. Detonate the other small bomb, then enter the bottom teleporter. Detonate all the bombs here, then enter the bottom teleporter. Set up line of small, medium and four large bombs with the small aerial at the top-most center tile and the line of bombs moving to the left end. Detonate the small aerial bomb, then move right.

Level 62

Take the red guy to the large mine at the upper right corner, then detonate the small aerial bombs at the right-most end and head to the far right after detonating. When it comes to getting the red guy to the upper right, the cracked tiles are a clue as to where to go. The remaining tiles will spell "SU".

Level 63

Get the blue guy to the small mine in the lower right corner. Move everything out of the upper right corner to get the large bombs there. Once all the large bombs are in the upper right corner, put the medium bomb in the upper-right tile of the "square" and the small bomb to the left of the medium bomb. Detonate the small bomb and move left.

Level 64

Detonate the small bomb at north rivet tiles and get rid of the ball enemy. Go down to previous pair of balls, then left, down and right at bottom small bomb. Detonate the small bomb, then go left, up, up. Detonate the small bomb and destroy the other enemy. Go right. Detonate the small bomb, then go up, then right to the teleporter in the upper right corner. Go left, up, right, down. From here, go up, left, down, right, and detonate bombs as you go. Press left after detonating the last bomb.

Level 65

Go to the slot tiles west of the start. Place the small aerial bomb in the upper right-most tile, and place the medium aerial bomb at the right-most tile. Place the two nearby large bombs at the two bottom tiles. Detonate the small aerial bomb, then go right. Move the two large bombs at bottom up. Move the third large bomb up and right. Move red guy to the upper right corner of the level to detonate the lone large bomb in the level. Detonate the small bomb near the mines, then move up.

Back to four levels to keep everything better compartmentalized, as the game gets a little bit harder.

Level 57

Hit the switch at the start, and keep hitting all the switches that pop up as you avoid the ball enemy. There will eventually be a small bomb in the lower left corner of the level after you hit all the switches. Detonate that small bomb and move right. Head to the right and detonate the small bomb near the teleporter, then enter the teleporter. Move up, detonate the small bomb and move left. Detonate the small bombs that you see as you keep going left, and on the fourth small bomb, go left and then up across the ice. Keep going up and hit the switch, and hit the switches that pop up while using the cracked titles as a means of avoiding the rotating orbs enemy. After hitting the last switch, a small aerial bomb will pop up on the upper right corner of the level quickly detonate it and move right.

Level 58

Hit the switches at the start, and watch out for the enemies while trying to go down across the ice tile you have spawned to hit the next switch. Go back up and to the left, and go south across the other ice tile you have spawned to hit another switch. Go back to the small aerial bomb and move down across the third newly-spawned ice tile to hit another switch, then go back to the small bombs in the lower right corner. Detonate the one in the corner first, then go all the way to the left and detonate the bomb on the rivet tile. Go back to the right and detonate the small bomb that you skipped, then detonate the small aerial bomb at the start and move up.

Level 59

Place the swell bomb in the slot tiles at the start on the lower left tile of "the square," then place the medium bomb one tile up north of the swell bomb and the small bomb one tile to the east of the medium bomb. Detonate the small bomb when the swell bomb is small, then move right and enter the upper teleporter. Take the blue guy into the nearby teleporter, then move the blue guy into the middle teleporter. Move the blue guy to the right to get rid of the small mine. Enter the nearby teleporter, then the middle teleporter yourself. Move right, then up across the ice and detonate the small bomb at the end, then move back down across the ice. Detonate the small bomb to the right of the small mine and move up, then detonate the other small bomb and move down. Detonate the medium bomb and enter the teleporter. Enter the lower teleporter. Go up to the small bomb to the right of the ice tile, detonate the small bomb and move left. Go left across the ice and detonate the last small bomb, then move right.

Level 60

Hit all the switches that you see as you move around the level while avoiding the enemies. Detonate the small bomb after hitting the second switch. Hit the switch near the temples. Move all the slot tile bombs to the left and away from the bombs near the large mine. Detonate the small bomb near the large mine and move either left or down, and make sure you take out the bouncing ball enemy. Take the blue guy to the mine at the temples. Detonate bombs near blue guy location. Detonate small aerial in lower left corner, with all slot tile bombs around medium aerial, then move up.

Level 52

Hit the switches near the start, then hit the switch that pops up. Hit the switch in the upper right corner, then detonate the small aerial bomb and go left. Hit the first switch near where you started again. Go to the switch at the south and hit it. Detonate the small bomb in the lower left corner. Detonate the small bomb in the lower right corner.

Level 53

Detonate the small bomb to the right of the start and move left, then detonate the small bomb you stop at and move down, left, up, up. Hit the switch. Detonate the small bomb in the upper left corner, then hit the switches. Make a line of bombs at the slot tiles, with a small bomb near the teleporter and the medium bomb one tile to the north of the small bomb. Detonate the small bomb and enter the teleporter. Detonate the small bomb you re-appear at. Move down. Detonate the small bomb. Move down.

Level 54

Move up and hit the switch, then move back down. Take the teleporter to the left. Go left and move the medium bomb to the lower left slot tile. Detonate the small bomb nearby and move left. Detonate the nearby small bomb here and move up. Hit the switch. Go right, detonate the small bomb and move down. Take the right teleporter. Hit the switch, then move up and then left. Detonate the small bomb and move down. Move the small bomb on the slot tiles down one tile, then detonate it and move up.

Level 55

Move three tiles to the right, then move the nearby small bomb on the slot tiles one tile left, detonate it and move left. Detonate the nearby small aerial bomb and step left. Move down, right, down, down, then detonate the small bomb and enter the nearby teleporter. Move up, detonate the swell bomb when it is small and move back down. Move back down to the large bomb and enter the nearby teleporter. Go left to the teleporter, then detonate the small bomb you re-appear at and move left. You'll enter the teleporter in that direction. When you re-appear, go down to enter the other teleporter. You'll re-appear at the large bomb. Detonate it and enter the nearby teleporter.

Level 56

Move down twice and detonate the small bomb. Move down twice again and detonate the small bomb. Go up, then right and detonate the small bomb. From here, you'll need to zig-zag your way north to the upper right corner, detonating as you go. If you detonate the small bomb before you reach the last bomb, you've done it correctly.
