Secrets abound in the mine shaft, and they can lead you to the vaults.

If anything either has spikes on top of it or happens to be mine machinery, you probably shouldn't mess with it.

To flip a switch, just jump into it. Turn the left switch on to activate the platform so you can activate the nearby hidden bear blocks and go down, then activate the next switch you see to activate the next platform.

While it's obvious you should avoid wall spikes, you can stand on the top of them. Also, there will be conveyor belts, and they will push you around. Be sure to jump on the enemies that are underground once to unearth them, then again to defeat them..

At the bottom of the first section, head to the left and hit the switch to reverse the direction of the conveyor belt, then go ahead and grab the 1-Up. Be ready to duck down to avoid some ceiling spikes and avoid the circular saw blades that drop down near the end.

At the beginning of the second section, keep heading right to avoid the bouncing rocks. Keep the A button held down to more easily get the health at the conveyor belt, then take the high road and jump around to activate some hidden bear blocks. You'll need to activate all eight of them to safely jump into a nearby wall and find the first vault. Keep jumping around to find all those bear blocks near the top. You'll be taken back a bit after leaving this vault, but at least this section isn't long.

In the third section, there are some hidden bear blocks at the third platform for some hard-to-reach picnic baskets. The platforms around here will slowly sink, but if you keep jumping on them, you'll be able to stay as high as possible for the next jump. This will help with the circular platforms. There is also a 1-Up just after the bear blocks that you have to jump across to progress. On the last bear block, just fall towards the right end of the pit and you'll find a bear block as well as a secret passage with a 1-Up in it. This is amazingly easy to miss.

In the fourth section, there is a wall near the bear block section that you can jump into. Use it to uncover some hidden bear blocks. There will be some missing, but if you make your way down to the ground below, you can easily find them. These bear blocks will take you to the second vault. Once you're done getting everything in the second vault, you'll be taken back, but if you head to the right from where you're brought back, you can go some through some secret passages to nab a 1-Up.

The exit is just below where you found the second vault. Don't forget that you can stand on the side of the spikes sticking out of the wall to make it easier to get around.
