PrinceWatercress plays Dungeon Explorer (Bishop Class) - Part 8 of 8

...and with that, we've beaten this game for the fourth time!

At Axis Castle, enter the doorway to the west of the one leading to the throne room. Go south, then go down the stairs. From here, you'll be in a very alien-looking dungeon. Be ready to tear through enemies and the enemy generators that spawn them, including brown bugs that just charge at you in non-diagonal directions. If you're lucky, you can get some rings off the yellow pillbug enemies that are here as well as the purple enemies.

You'll then face Judas. Stay on the movie, run around the room in a circle, and keep as much distance as possible while attacking Judas and avoiding the multiple boomerangs he throws. Make sure you are not right up on the wall, or else you can get caught on the spaces between the pods that make up the walls, which can get you trapped and vulnerable to taking a whole bunch of damage. After the stat boost, you'll be in Ciria Village, where the villagers will be cheering you on while telling you to head east to Balamous Tower. East of Balamous Tower is a path leading to Melba Village, so if you need to heal up at the tavern, you can do that.

You'll have some very narrow areas to move and shoot through in the tower, so getting the reflect mirror that will let your attacks bounce off walls is a must. Also, be ready to blaze a path to a staircase and then get right to it, as you will be overwhelmed if you try to fight all the enemies at this point.

You'll then face Natas himself. Move from one lower corner of the room to the other while aiming diagonally north, and stay away from the hands. You'll take out the hands and even a few projectiles coming out then be able to aim at the ORA Stone, and while the hands will re-spawn, taking out both hands will make things easier. If all else fails, you may have to go up to an upper corner and aim at the ORA stone while absorbing all the damage in one last-ditch effort. Once you beat Natas, you'll be able to take the ORA Stone and beat the game! You've just beaten Dungeon Explorer!

KuuImpact plays Superman (NES) - Part 6 of 17

This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.

In this entry, we finally beat the Dragon Gang, but there is more adventure ahead of us...

Head one screen to the right to the Metropolis Bank and fight the enemies. One of the enemies will ask you if you like Chinese noodles as you beat them up, and another one tells you not to look for the dragon. When you beat all the enemies here, you'll get more energy for the X-Ray Vision.

Outside of the bank, someone will be waiting to thank you before telling you to take the criminals to the Metropolis Police Station in Teaboro. Teaboro will be to the east (right), so be ready to head in that direction and fight enemies such as zombies along the way until you reach the subway. Take the subway to reach the Metro Police Station. Interestingly, Superman can take the subway, not just Clark Kent.

Enter the police station and talk to the people inside, then head to the right to find where the help alert is coming from. Go inside the building, which is the Firemen's Memorial Museum, and fight the fireball enemies with Super Breath I. Get the Heat Vision extension that drops down when you beat all the enemies.

When you leave the museum, head left and enter China Garden. Fight the enemies here, and watch out for the fireballs that the bigger guy shoots out, as well as his flying kick if you go airborne. Hit him with the Heat Vision to take him out from a distance. When he's done, you'll beat the Dragon Gang and arrest them all. Suddenly, a professor - who is one of the world's top scientists - will be kidnapped.

Level 3

You'll be back at the Daily Planet. Talk to Lois Lane to find out about the two colleges in Metropolis: Nordham U. in Mt. Royal and Metropolis U. in Andersonville. If you talk to Jimmy Olsen, he will tell you that ghosts have been seen at both colleges.

Leave the Daily Planet and enter the phone booth to the east to turn into Superman, then head east one screen to head to Mt. Royal and Nordham U. with Super Flight. When you land, equip your X-Ray Vision and head one screen east to Nordham University, then use your X-Ray Vision to see the ghosts and punch them to death.

KuuImpact plays Superman (NES) - Part 5 of 17

This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.

In this entry, we investigate what is going on with the stock market...and as we do, we tangle with the Dragons Gang.

Talk to the people inside the stock market. People are wanting to know why the stock market is dropping so much. Another person will tell you that everyone is worried about their stock at the fish market in the old city, and yet another person will tell you that Mt. Royal's Glernmorgan Square also seems to be in a slump. You'll also meet the F.B.I., who will tell you that the Dragons Gang has caused the stock slump.

Leave the stock market and head east. Climb down the ladder you see and head to the right as you fight the enemies, and climb down the next ladder. Head right and jump over the water, then climb the ladder leading up on the other side. Head right and climb up the next ladder, and you'll be back in Lafayette. From here, you can fly to the Old City with Super Flight. Head there.

At the Old City, enter the Fish Market to your right. Fight the enemies inside for a Super Breath I extension, then leave. The people outside of the building will thank you for saving them from the Dragons Gang, and that the gang is going to set fire to Lexcorp Plaza in Lafayette.

Head all the way to the left and climb down the ladder. In the underground passage, keep heading left until you find a ladder heading up. Climb up the ladder to end up west of Senneville. East of here is the Stock Market. Take the ladder to the right of the Stock Market and make your way back to Lafayette. The red building to your left is One Lexcorp Plaza. Go inside and use Super Breath I on the fire enemies, then take the Super Spin extension to clear out this area and get rid of the fire for good.

When you leave One Lexcorp Plaza, the people outside will thank you before telling you that the Dragons Gang are also going to rob Metropolis Bank in Senneville. You'll also get a help alert in the upper-right corner.

We finally get the ORA Stone...but somebody has been pulling the strings behind the scenes...

If you talk to the king at Axis Castle, he will tell you to go north of the castle and enter Ratonix, and to watch out for Octopolus. You'll also get the magic charges, as usual.

Here, you'll have a dungeon with some of the darkest color schemes I've ever seen in a video game...and you'll also have a staircase maze. The skeletons drop White charges, while the mud creatures drop the Black charges.

Start by going west and going downstairs. From there, take the stairs that are further to the east. Go down the next flight of stairs, then go up the stairs to the north. Take the next set of stairs that you see, then take the stairs to the north. Take the stairs to the north, then grab the seed if you need to replenish your health and take the stairs to the north again. Take the stairs to your immediate east, then do it again. Go south to the next set of stairs, then go up another flight of stairs to the east. Go east down some stairs, then take the stairs going down to the south. Get the stuff to the north, then take the stairs to the south. Take the stairs to the west from here. Go down the lower set of stairs to the east, then go up the stairs to the immediate east afterwards. Take the next set of stairs that you see, do it again, then take the stairs to the east. Take the stairs to the south, then follow the path and take the stairs at the end. You'll face Octopolus.

To beat Octopolus, stay to one side and keep aiming at the eye in the center. You'll take out all the other eyes surrounding Octopolus' weak point before decimating the weak point itself before anything re-spawns, even though you don't need to do this and you can just destroy enough of them to get a clearer shot on the eye int he center. After the stat boost, you'll find out that you're on the way to Mistos and that you'll have to go underground and face Halatos. Follow the path to another dungeon.

Here, the ground is red and the enemy generators blend in with the floors rather easily, so watch for any part of the floor that is flashing. Despite the massive amounts of staircases here, it is easy to get to where you need to go. Just watch out for the massive amounts of blue eyeballs flying around, the flamethrowers and the orange demons that are very fast.

Near the end of this dungeon, you'll be dealing with enemy generators that spawn blue flames. If you see the blue flames, off-screen them immediately as you make your way to the south. You'll eventually face Halatos.

To beat Halatos, stay in one of the lower corners and fire diagonally to the north. You'll take out any flames that are shot at you while also slowly dealing damage to Halatos. Keep in mind that you can be poisoned during this battle. Once you beat Halatos, head all the way east and you'll find the ORA Stone! Grab it, then take the nearby stairs. You'll meet Judas, who tells you to head to Axis Castle. Just go east when you leave the house and you'll be there.

Of course, once you go to Axis Castle, you'll notice that the music in the castle is slower. When you talk to the king, you'll find out that he is Natas himself! The soldiers will tell you to go under the castle thru Roterroad to head to Balamous Tower, and to be careful of the plant pods.

KuuImpact plays Superman (NES) - Part 4 of 17

This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.

In this entry, Superman has to find out what is going on at the stock market...and it's a bit of a way to Senneville.

Level 2

Senneville is all the way to the west. Better get going.

When you leave the Daily Planet, you'll be seeing zombies as soon as you go outside, and unless you're Superman, you won't be able to hurt them. Unfortunately, you have to be Clark Kent to take the subway, which is east of the Daily Planet. Now that you can take the subway, just go into the yellow subway tunnel. You'll be able to turn back in to Superman once you get on the other side. From here, you'll need to head west.

The first building you see will be red, and it contains invisible enemies. If you hear what sounds like a growl, ghosts are near. If you keep punching in place, you can eventually hit them.

Three screens in, you'll see guys in black and purple who will karate kick you. You'll also find green zombies in a nearby building.

Five screens in, you'll face black and red karate fighters near Mountain Records. Bear them up for a Super Breath I upgrade.

Seven screens in, you'll find the Holography Museum. On the next screen, you'll meet a man who will tell you that Metropolis is best seen from the sky. The three people further to the left also have some useless flavor text. The building they are standing in front of is Wonderland Toys, and it contains a changing room where you can turn to Clark Kent and back to Superman again.

If any spot on the map is yellow, Superman can fly there from his current location on the map. The spots that are yellow will be different depending on where you are on the map.

It won't be long until you reach Senneville, and you'll know that you are there when you hear different, more sinister music. Keep going, and you'll eventually reach a black building that looks a bit different from the rest you've seen with a red sign that reads "STOCK MARKET." You'll want to head in there.

KuuImpact plays Superman (NES) - Part 3 of 17

This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.

In this entry, KuuImpact kicks some zombie butt, then we enter the second level of the game.

At the beginning of this video, KuuImpact is on the right track, which is on the way to Metropolis Park. More importantly, he's between McKeesport and the park and near the computer center, which is to the right. There is a green-and-blue zombie enemy that runs back and forth and goes super high, but Super Breath II immobilizes them and makes them easier to defeat.

Further to the right is what looks like flying pinecones. You can stay on the ground and punch them when they come your way, but you won't get anything from them.

Instead, go down the stairs. There will be invisible enemies around here, and you'll need to use X-Ray Vision in order to see them. Further down the stairs is some green-and-black zombie enemies.

Further to the right of the Computer Center is the Metro Tower, as well as some people who say random things such as being unable to understand English and asking if there is a green fence near the Computer Center.

Going to the right from Metro Tower leads to the Metropolis Park, where you can fight gangsters in pink suits. Keep going to the right and keep fighting the pink gangsters as you go. You'll eventually face the big green guys, whom you can jump over. You'll eventually be back in the city and you'll find the Wexel Company building and the Apollo Theater, spelled as "Appollo Theater" here. Go inside the Apollo Theater.

Use the Super Breath II on the green-and-black zombies and go down the stairs. Beating up the enemies here will give you more power for the Super Spin, so get it. Fight all the blue zombies downstairs to get more energy for the X-Ray Vision. Further down is the pink zombies, and all the way down are gangsters. Take out the gangsters and keep heading to the left and a woman will try to attack you. Hit her with the Heat Vision attack as well as punches will standing on some stairs, and you'll eventually take her down.

You'll get a headline from the "Daily Planets" announcing that Superman has defeated the "Zod Gang," even though we have not met Zod or his gang yet. Soon afterwards, you'll find out that stock market prices have fallen.

You'll be back at the Daily Planet. Lois Lane will tell you that you can learn about stocks at the Senneville stock market. The guy to the right of her will give you a subway pass if you talk to him, which can be used on all of the subways as a form of fast travel. The bald guy to the left will tell you to find out why stock prices have fallen so much.

PrinceWatercress plays Dungeon Explorer (Bishop Class) - Part 6 of 8

We're getting close to the end of the game as the Bishop, but the worst is yet to come.

Once you go back to where you got back into Axis Castle from, go east. You'll eventually come across a wall of fire that cannot be passed through; turn back and go north as soon as you are able. Go east, then go north. You'll eventually find stairs leading up; take them. After another room, you'll be in Cursoka Village.

Watch out for the dwarves, spiders and worms and take them out on sight before they get you. Head to the northwest corner and enter the house you find there, then go down the stairs for another dungeon area. The skeletons with the purple shoulder pads are fast, and the fly enemies will bounce off the walls.

You'll eventually encounter the Splatter Slime. Keep your white magic ready, move around the room in a circle to avoid the Splatter Slime and the slime enemies that it spawns (in three new colors!) and hit the Splatter Slime when you get enough distance. The Splatter Slime will go down in no time, and once you increase one of your stats, you'll be able to go back to Axis Castle by going west, but if you go south, you'll head towards Raraport and face yellow pill bugs, gray soldiers, orange soldiers and red dwarves, the last of whom will overwhelm you if your strength isn't high enough and you're not using White magic.

To beat the Gargon, stay around the southeast or northeast corner and keep firing at the Gargon. You'll be hitting fireballs while trying to attack the Gargon, but at the same time, you'll be able to clear a path. The Gargon may move back and forth every so often, so be ready to change your aim if you need to. If you have the reflect ability for your attack, this is even easier. If you can heal with your magic, you can stay at the top center and keep firing from there. It may take a while, but the Gargon will go down long before you do.

You'll then go through yet another dungeon. Push the rock, go up the stairs, and you'll be east of Axis Castle.
