Cave of Monkey Human

Wow, these monkeys are advanced.

Anyway, these guys will throw rocks and jump around like the Trilobites from the beginning of the game. They only leave 50 EP, but they heal 14 HP, making it worth it to take these guys on and get their battle plans to a science. Some of them also try to crush you with heavy boulders, which can take off half your health or more. If you see them stop as you approach, jump back immediately, then attack as he stands there clapping.

You can use Up and Down on the Control Pad to move the wooden elevators in the cave up and down.

When you make it to the end of the maze, you'll meet another Yeti. It's probably the baby Yeti that got spared (the game doesn't really explain), and this guy can destroy you in seconds. You can move out of the way of the uppercut at the end of his combo, but you'll have to be quick.

What you need to do is go all the way to the right. From here, you can jump over him when he punches at you, but if you can't do it in time, you can always face backwards and kick him with your hind legs with the A button. Keep healing yourself with the EVO points, you have, too.

When you beat this guy, you'll get 1000 EP.

Final Ocean

When you head here, Gaia will tell you that the crystal have turned the Rogons into violent creatures, and that they are attacking the whales.

Also, the little Loch Ness monsters give you 100 EP, in case you're still needing to evolve.

The Kuraselache boss is now a regular enemy here, and thankfully, they are not as much of a nuisance as they 

The Rogons are basically Fish Men. They'll ride on small sharks and shoot darts at you. Weird. They also give you 100 EP each. You're better off bringing EVO points with you, however, as these guys can tear you apart.

You'll then fight the boss Rogon. If the ball of light he sends at you hits you, you'll be blinded and you won't be able to see him unless he's in your shortened line of sight. He can also claw and scratch at you, but all of his attacks are close-ranged.

When you beat him, you'll get 1200 EP.

Continue going left, and you'll enter a throne room with cheering dolphins in it. You'll meet the Whale King. He is grateful that you defeated the Rogons, and he will blow away the clouds covering the African continent. He also has a new body for you.

Stage 41 is a pretty interesting stage. Love how the developers got creative with that one!

Get all the guns in Stage 40. You're gonna need 'em!

Stage 41 is one of my favorite stages here. You'll need to walk across the fallaway floors, grab as many guns as you can and carefully work your way to the bottom. As you approach the bottom, be ready to grab a shield or two so you don't get engulfed by enemies. If any enemies follow you through the warp, blast them.

When you enter the cave, you'll meet the Yeti. Regardless of how the conversation goes, you'll have to fight him. The best thing to do here is jump back when he jump forward, then jump forward and bite him.

When you beat the Yeti, he'll call for his son as he dies. His son watches him die, then you get to eat the dad's meat for 200 EP while his son runs away...then you have to face the mother.

The Yeti Mother has an ice breath attack as well as a massive hand clap that does just as much damage. Just use the same strategy you used against the first Yeti. Be ready to heal, though. If you can keep getting her to use the ice breath attack, you can jump over the breath attack and bite her. If she gets too close, face away and mash the A button to kick her with your hind legs and get her away from yourself if you're still on four legs.

Being well-evolved will definitely give you an edge in this battle.

When you beat the Yeti Mother, the baby runs away looking for Mommy and Daddy. Gaia will then tell you that even if you had not defeated the Yeti, a stronger power would have gotten them first. You'll then head to the final era: the era of Early Man!

Chapter 5: Early Man

26~3 Million Years B.C.

As you begin the chapter, Gaia will finally mention the crystals and that the crystals have gone evolution to go horribly wrong. She's still trying to figure out who would bring them here and who, though. All will be revealed in this chapter!

Final Step To Evolve

Well, it's official. We have the squirrels to kill (again) and berry bushes to eat. But the best is yet to come!

Domain of Sincerous

You'll learn about the creatures that can hold "Tools" in their front legs which cause great damage. Human beings, perhaps?

The moose here give you 70 EP apiece. Just watch out for those charge attacks.

Domain of Fish of Prey

Oh, hey, we're a seal.

Anyway, the piranhas here bite. What else are they going to do? Evade first, then attack.

Domain of Sea Otter

Welcome to Sea Otter paradise! Here, there are otters to beat up and fish to eat. The otters here are pretty harmless. Just watch out for the shells they break up and throw at you.

Domain of Alligator

Same environment, different creatures. Here, we have alligators who want to rip you to shreds. Thankfully, you should have the best jaws in the game at this point.

Domain of Grizzly

Holy crap. The bears actually scratch at you for a good amount of damage, but if you can kill one, you'll get 150 EP and heal 13 HP. Nice.

Now you have no excuse not to evolve. Just be ready to take a bit of a beating if you want to farm off of them.

Forest of Segosaurus

Anyway, if you let them be, they'll tell you about a creature they've never seen before. It has the face of a cat and the body of a rabbit. Hmmmm...

You'll then leave the area.

You can come back and kill these guys at 200 EP a pop, though.

Domain Eohip

Oh, hey, prehistoric horses.

Despite the fact that they can kick you with their hind legs and swing at you with their front legs, they're pretty weak. At 100 EP apiece, this is another nice place to farm EP.

Domain of Saber Tiger

These things give you 150 EP each. America, land of plenty? Indeed. They can tear you apart if you're not careful, though.

Actually, we're in South America now, but who cares?

Domain of Condor

You'll hear that the condors have seen a silver object in the sky that looked like a bird flying.

Before you leave this area, go up to the top. The condors are easy to kill, as are the amphibians at the summit. The blue crystal here will give you an impressive 5000 EP, so get it!

Anyway, when you enter this area, they initially confuse you for the Yeti until they find out you're not the Yeti. Head to the right as you trounce these guys.

Domain of Balrium

The little rhinos here have escaped the Yeti, but they're stupid enough to run into the Australian desert in a vain attempt to survive, let alone exist. They leave 90 EP each.

Anyway, their little head whack takes about 7 or so HP off of you, so be ready to bite them, especially if they charge or bite at you.

When you go south after completing this area, you'll find out that the world map wraps around itself on the north and south ends.

The North Pole

The penguins slide into you, but they don't do too much damage. They leave 50 EP apiece.

The seals also try to spin jump into you, and leave 100 EP apiece, making this a rather nice EP farming ground if you have powerful enough jaws and feel like fighting them.

Domain of Mammoth

When you meet up with the Mammoth, he'll think you're a part of the Yeti tribe and tries to dispose of you. You'll have to fight him and his two brothers.

Avoid the bubbles he spits out of his trunk and bite him.

If you can trap one into a corner, keep biting him until he dies. He won't be able to fight back at all. Each mammoth leaves 250 EP and heals 30 HP, which is nice if you're near death.

After you beat the three Mammoth brothers, you'll meet a pink Mammoth. Apparently, this is a female, and she tells you about the mountain to the southwest. You'll be able to find the Ice Pole spirit there. By finding the spirit, however, you'll be able to end the chapter.

You can kill her afterwards and get 250 more EP if you want.

This is an ice pillar. When you move right, you'll eventually be stopped and taken to a castle in the clouds by a Pterodactyl.

Fort Bird-Man

The lances on those flying bird guys hurt. Some of them throw spears from the top of a green Tritops, too.

When you make it all the way to the end, you'll enter the castle. Here, you'll meet up with eagles that carry swords and swing them at us. They're probably gryphons. I can't tell because of the arms.

Anyway, the teleporters take you to different parts of the castle, making it pretty easy to get lost unless you actually map the place out on paper.

After looking at the map, just go down like normal and jump the pit to enter the platform. Enter it three more times. Go right, drop down the pit and go left. Enter the teleporter, then enter it again. After this, go left and jump the pit and you'll meet the boss. If you're using the map I've linked to, it's A, C, B, J, F, E, I, L. (Thankfully, I do a little better explaining where to go and how to get there this time around.)

The red crystal here changes you into an elephant for a limited time.

When you make it through L, you'll meet the Bird-King. He mentions a crystal that has allowed them to continue to evolve, and he wants you to join them. Say no, and you'll fight him.

Whenever he sends those two orbs at you, jump straight up. He's pretty easy to hit multiple times. Just be ready to heal. When you beat the Bird-King, you'll get 1600 EP. The castle will begin to fall apart because the power of the crystal is gone, so head into the teleporter and you'll be back on the world map.

When you come back, the wall of ice blocking the cave will be gone.

There's really not much to say about that one...but boy, did I mess up with that Carrot Juice.

Lure the enemies towards you before using the Carrot Juice in Stage 39. (Yeah, that was a terrible mistake on my part.) Also in Stage 39, the Pepe Le Pew near the bomb is one of the more annoying enemies you'll need to deal with if you have too many enemies showing up.

Domain of Prime Bird

Be careful here, as there are bottomless pits to go along with those birds. Thankfully, if you fall down one, you don't die. Instead, you're sent back to the map screen.

The birds can easily be killed in one hit if you have powerful enough jaws, but their attack hits a few times. It's pretty easy to lose 5 HP to one of them if you're not careful.

At least the birds drop 70 EP. That's nice.

Exit of Mt. Snow

Just the exit from Mt. Snow. No big deal...almost.

The pigs in the cave at the bottom and to the left give quite the experience. If you go further to the left, you'll meet the dinosaurs, who are somehow still alive. The Tritops here give more experience. If you keep going left, you'll run back into the Bull Ikustega from earlier.

Domain of Hynodon

The big cats give you 100 EP apiece, making this a really nice EP farming area if your jaws are powerful enough. Too bad you have to keep entering the area over and over to get the Hynodons to re-spawn.

There's a cave at the end, but you won't be able to enter it yet because of the huge ice wall blocking your path.

Land of Survival (North)

Well, since we can't enter that door, let's go to Africa and OH DEAR GOD THERE IS A DINOSAUR HERE

Thankfully, this is an easy to place to stock up on EVO points if you have the best jaws.

Good lord, the Tyrasaurs have some range.

Anyway, keep fighting the Tyrousaurs until the screen shakes. You'll get a message saying that the asteroids are hitting the Earth. Thankfully, Gaia opens the Time Trans and saves you. After this, you'll get what's probably one of the most screwed-up cutscenes I've seen in a Super Nintendo game: the asteroids hitting the ground as dinosaurs lay dead. Some of them are even crushed by rocks. Good lord.

The good news is that you have a chance to evolve into a mammal.

Chapter 4: Ice Age

65~36 Million Years B.C.

According to the brown crystal, evolution is very slow in this age, especially for mammals. You also have a chance to evolve into a human being.

Cave of Judgment

Once you go in, you'll be able to speak to the Syrocasaurus spirits, who will judge you worthy of becoming a mammal. You can either stay a reptile and change into another creature, such as a bird, or you can choose to become a mammal. If you become a mammal, though, you won't be able to change back.

Since I've been wanting to cover beating the game as a mammal, we're changing into a mammal.

When you change into one, you'll lose all your EP (again) and you'll become a tiny rat. From here, you'll be able to change into other creatures, including a human being.

Cave of Deltadium

When you enter the cave, you'll find out that some of the dinosaurs are still (inexplicably) alive despite the Ice Age that has hit the world. They're trying to take out the mammals in order to reclaim the world. Hmmmm...

Anyway, the rats here are weak, even if you've just become a mammal. They only give you 10 EP each, but it's still a nice early stomping ground for this chapter.

Door to Mt. Snow

When you enter this place, you'll see some Bull Ikustega, some pig creatures as well as...a Tritops. Apparently the rumors are true.

You can also eat the plant life around here (including the leaves on the trees!) to refill your health if necessary.

Domain Paramis

Here, you do nothing but kill squirrels and go to the right. At 30 EP and the fact that they don't even try to attack you, this is a nice EP farming spot regardless of what you're playing as. However, they do leap around a lot.
