newfiebangaa plays Tiny Toon Adventures: Babs' Big Break - Part 4 of 4

It's time to take on Montana Max and save that theater!

Level 4

You'll enter Calamity's factory soon after you start the stage. Calamity will open a hole in the floor, which leads to a section where you ride on a bike. Buster is the only person who can use the bicycle, as Plucky doesn't think it safe and Hamton's afraid he's going to fall off (and get dirty, which should be less of a concern than, say, having one of your leg bones completely split). Buster couldn't be more daring, as it's a rocket-powered bike.

This is pretty simple, for the most part. You'll be speeding your way to the right, collecting a whole lot of gems along the way. Concord Condor will be flying around at the top of the screen, and his prescence doesn't really make any sort of difference in this section. The main threat, however, is Elmyra, who chases after you and manages to get close, but as long as you jump over all the bottomless pits, will never be able to touch you. When you reach the bridge, it will collapse, and Elmyra will fall along with it.

Once you're past this part, you'll be dealing with more package-dropping storks as well as some pipes leading underground that lead to an underground path. You won't be able to go any further to the right than this. You'll find both bonus games in one of rooms if you need extra lives.

You'll eventually come across a werewolf that acts as Montana Max's bodyguard. He tells you that he's just captured your friend and that you're going to be his dinner. He will then try to punch blocks at you, and you'll have to jump over them. When the blocks are all gone, the ceiling that the blocks were holding will suddenly fall on him, revealing a pipe leading downward.

When you down the pipe, you'll meet Shirley LaLoon. She'll tag along for a while. Go back aboveground and go to the pit to the right of the pipe down to the underground path. She'll float over the pit and destroy the front door of Montana Max's mansion before leaving.

Once you're inside Montana Max's mansion, go to the right immediately. When you see Montana in his monster truck, immediately jump into the gaps in the floor and duck. You'll be using them all to avoid him before you make it to the end of the stage, which is indicated by a wall blocking your path. Max will plow through it and head to the right, and you'll be free to enter the next room.

Here, you'll come fact to face with Montana. Even if you pay him the 500 gems to buy the theatre, you'll still have to fight him.

To beat Montana Max, stay away from him until he does a big bounce. When he does that, he'll get dizzy and wobble around. This is your opportunity to jump on his head. Stay on the move and keep hitting him when he's dizzy and you'll eventually beat Montana Max.

After this, Babs Bunny will decide to take her acting career past the theatre and maybe into another galaxy. So...we got the theatre back...for nothing. Wow.

Anyway, that's the game. Once you've seen the credits, the game starts over. You've won!

There just has to be an obligatory haunted house level, doesn't it?

Level 3

New enemies for this level as you jump around include birds flying around and beehives that shoot out bees. You'll also want to watch out for the spiky fruits that come out of the top of the screen, even though it can be hard to see them coming.

You'll eventually come across the haunted part of the forest. You'll be avoiding Grim Reapers and jumping on platforms situated on top of caterpillars' heads. It won't take you long to find Fifi, who is trapped in a cage. You'll have to find a button just like the one in front of her somewhere in the level in order to free her. It isn't too hard to find. Go all the way to the right and go up the pipe, then get on the platform to the right and go up the ceiling pipe you see. Go to the left and there it is. Hit it, then go back to Fifi and hit the button in front of her. Fifi is free!

Go back up and go to the right. Use Fifi to take down the two trees, and you'll be able to enter the haunted mansion.

Watch out for platform with eyes. They'll try to crush you. You'll also see floors and ceilings with eyes as well, they'll take you where you want to go, but you should definitely be quick about it.

You'll come across an empty room. Jump into the gap in the center of the room, and you'll trigger the boss battle with the haunted knight. Jump when it shoots its grappling hook arm at you so you can land on its arm, then jump on its head and it goes back and forth. After that, jump up when its arm returns to hit.Sometimes his legs will separate from him, and if that happens you won't be able to do much until he attacks again.

When the haunted knight leaps straight up, stay near the little gap in the center of the room and stay away from the corners so you don't take any unnecessary damage.

When you beat the haunted knight, you'll find out that Babs has found a theater...but Montana Max wants to tear it down and replace it with a factory!

GameBoyle reviews Tiny Toon Adventures: Babs' Big Break

It's pretty obvious that this game won't set the world on fire despite being a licensed game from Konami; it's the stuff mentioned at the VERY end that ticks me off.

newfiebangaa plays Tiny Toon Adventures: Babs' Big Break - Part 2 of 4

This time around, Babs heads to the city...

Level 2

As soon as you start, go down the pipe and make your way up. At one point, you won't be able to get any higher and you'll have to go down a pipe to make your way through a short pipe maze a la Super Mario Bros. 3. You'll be going through quite a few pipes to get through this level.

Unlike the NES game, Plucky cannot flap his wings and gently descend if you repeatedly tap the A button in mid-air.

When you make it out of the pipe maze, you'll be attacked by Arnold on a motorbike as well as package dropping storks. There is a pipe in the ceiling that you can reach by jumping off of Arnold. Follow the path, avoiding the bottomless pits and flame plumes coming out of the pipes, and enter the pipe in the ceiling there to find Furball. Since Furball never really speaks in the show, an unknown narrator tells you what you have to deal with next.. Babs has headed to the train station. and if you want to progress any further, you'll have to play three rounds of Hide and Seek with Furball.

Pay attention to the height of Furball's jump before the lights go out. You'll be able to find out where he is rather easily. After three correct guesses, you'll get Furball.

Leave this room and go to the right, avoiding the large crushing pipes as you go. When you go up the pipe at the end, you'll come across a low-hanging ceiling. This is where Furball comes in. Crawl through this area while avoiding the flame plumes. When you make it to the other side, Furball leaves.

The next part is a train. You'll be dealing with strong dogs and frogs that leap out of boxes. When you hear the train whistle, stay low so the ceiling of the tunnel won't hit you.

Go down the pipes for power-ups and gems if you need them. Some of the boxes are fake and sprout legs. but if you don't move when you jump on them, you'll come down and bop them before they can do anything.

When you make it to the front of the train, you'll take on Arnold. Avoid him as he runs back and forth, and when he stops to pose, you'll want to move up to him and jump on his head. Don't let him touch you, or he'll dribble you around like a basketball. After enough hits, you'll beat him.

newfiebangaa plays Tiny Toon Adventures: Babs' Big Break - Part 1 of 4

Babs Bunny is dreaming of cracking her way into the theater business. Buster Bunny, Plucky Duck and Hamton, concerned about what trouble she'll get into if she travels on her own, decide to follow her.

Level 1

To open the treasure chests, jump on top of them to get the contents.

The various fruits are throwing weapons for the three characters. Buster gets carrots (which have an upward trajectory before they come back down), Plucky gets pineapples (which bounce) and Hamton gets watermelons (which roll like a bowling ball). You can switch characters whenever you pause the game.

The rat (who looks like Ricky Rat from Perfecto Prep) throws an anvil towards you when he's a certain distance away, but he can throw other items as well, such as footballs. Thankfully, the anvil can be easily avoided and you can throw a carrot at him when necessary. The armadillos will just roll towards you and keep on rolling in one direction, and you won't be able to damage them as they do this. Just avoid them.

Collect as many gems as possible. You'll need them to play the mini-games.

The tree trunks act like the pipes in the Mario games. They'll have an arrow going up or down that leads to another area.

If you find a small heart, you'll refill your health. If you pick up a large heart, you'll be able to increase your maximum health by one unit.

The Montana Mash mini-game is a whack-a-mole game. Use the Control Pad to move and turn around, and bop enemies with the A button. The rats give you 10 points each, while Montana Max gives you 50. I would not be surprised if the drumstick and sunglasses Buster wears are a reference to the Energizer Bunny.

After going to the right for a while, you'll come across a dead end. There is a pipe just before the end. Go down and go to the right to meet Dizzy Devil. Dizzy knows where Babs is, and joins your party temporarily. Leave this area, then head back to the dead end. Dizzy will automatically dig a path through the dirt and you'll end up on the other side of the wall.

You'll then be inside a building. The bats move in sine wave patterns, and can be easily taken out with a carrot.

The underground area at the start of the building flashes and alternates between light and dark every so often. There are a few bottomless pits, but there aren't a lot of hazards. Be sure to stand still if the screen goes dark.

There is a pipe on the ceiling that leads to an above-ground area with a crushing ceiling. Crouch down to avoid being crushed. There will be a pipe in this ceiling that leads to a racing mini-game. Press A and B continuously to run, otherwise you will walk. You can choose to race against Book Worm, Sweetie Bird or Little Beeper, with the difficulty increasing from left to right with each opponent. If you beat Sweetie, you'll get an extra life. If you win against Little Beeper, you'll get your health restored.

The cake at the end is another reference to that one episode involving Hamton and the talking cake. It just spits easily avoidable projectiles at you.

The boss at the end is Dizzy Devil. He's still hungry, and wants you to put food in his mouth. Jump onto the foods in the bowls when they're near Dizzy. He'll still eat them if they bounce off the floor once, so use that to your advantage. Avoid the spiked balls in the bowls, as they will hurt you.

When you feed Dizzy Devil enough food, you'll move onto the next stage. You'll get bonus points for health remaining as well as how many throwing weapons you have at the end of the stage.
