PrinceWatercress plays Bugs Bunny & Taz: Timebusters - Part 1 of 23

Now that I've beaten Lost In Time, it's time to play this one. This one is a little more interesting, and I'm glad I played this one.

Believe it or not, Bugs Bunny: Lost In Time had a spiritual sequel made by the same developers with a team-up system and a more linear level system than the aforementioned game. Might as well get this one started, shall we?

At the start of the game, Daffy Duck shows up at Granny's house in Granwich as an employee of Jet Age Pest Control, where he has been called in to take care of a mouse. As he climbs on the Time Regulator inside the house, he lands on the Time Gem on the top of the Regulator, gets teleported into a cave full of gold, immediately gets greedy and tries to claim the treasure as his own.

As this goes on, Bugs Bunny is startled by a random gear that falls into his rabbit hole. When he surfaces from underground, random people and creatures are running all around Taz is also seen spinning around, and Bugs grabs hold of him and gets taken to Granny's house, where he finds out what is going on: Daffy has broken the Time Regulator, and in order to fix it, Bugs must find all the Time Regulator Gears. Of course, Bugs won't have to do all the work by himself, as Taz will be going with him to help him take care of some of the things we'll be doing in the game.

Your first order of business is getting the ten Time Regulator Gears (which I will just call "gears" from this point on) in Granwich to open the gates to the Aztec Era. If you see Tweety, you can interact with him with the Triangle button to get hints from Granny. You'll also get a Magic Mirror, which lets you switch between Bugs and Taz with the R1 button. If you need to call the other character to your current position, just press L1 and they will teleport to you.

Whenever Granny is speaking, you can use Left and Right to look through the text. X lets you exit.

The controls are almost exactly the same, but with the new swap and call commands, you cannot roll anymore. Other than that, everything is unchanged with a few differences.

Just like in Lost In Time, you can collect carrots. Carrots are used to not only refill health, but also can be collected as currency when your health is full and used to pay for services.

Bugs and Taz's health will be at the top of the screen whenever you get hit or collect carrots to refill health. If one of the characters die, they will be brought back in an ACME parcel you will have to attack with the Square button in order to get them back. If you lose both characters, you lose a life. Yes, lives are a thing in this game, unlike in Lost In Time.

When paused, Inventory lets you see what you have yet to collect in any of the levels, while Level Hints gives you hints for the current area you are in. Level Hints isn't the most helpful thing some of the time, as you'll soon see. Options just give the same options menu as the title screen.

11:21 - Guess what? You can swim in this game. You can use the D-Pad to move around in the water. Hold Square to dive, then use Up to descend, Down to ascend and Left and Right to steer. Hold Square to keep moving forward. Dive down to get the gear.

14:13 - This time around, only Taz can grab, place, throw and move crates. L2 and R2 move the camera around. Triangle lets you life or drop a smaller crate, while Square lets Taz throw a smaller crate that he is already holding. Holding Triangle and moving with the D-Pad pushes the bigger crates. You'll need to stack some crates to get the gear above. It should be mentioned that Bugs has a higher jump than Taz.

16:40 - Press Circle near an item like a mallet or torch while playing as Bugs to grab them. From there, you have a limited amount of time to use them before they return to where you found them. Square uses the item; Triangle drops it. By hitting the button with the mallet, you'll complete the first part of this. You'll then learn to throw small items like rocks and balls. Press Triangle to pick up the item, and Square to throw it. Pressing Triangle again drops the item. Throw the rock at the target to get a gear.

If you use Taz to pick up a smaller item like a mallet or torch, Taz will just eat it, and the item resets.

18:37 - This small enemy runs around with a gear. You can jump on him to squash him, then kick him with Square to get the gear.

19:33 - You'll then take on a big enemy. You'll need to get him to chase you until he tires himself out, then get behind him and press Square to kick him in the behind. You'll get another gear.

You'll also get a lesson on the ACME special delivery parcel. Kick the parcel with Square to break it and get your partner back.

22:52 - To open up a rabbit hole, find a patch of dirt, then switch to Taz, get on the dirt, jump up and press Triangle to dig a hole in the ground. From there, switch to Bugs, walk onto the hole, press X to jump, then press Triangle while in mid-air to jump in. You can then move around underground with the D-Pad, and you can bump into pillars from underneath with X to raise them. To get back aboveground, get back to the rabbit hole so that Bugs' ears are popping out, then press X. From there, you can jump from pillar to pillar when they are all raised up to get a gear.

25:16 - Bugs can climb on trees. To do that, jump into it, then use the D-Pad to climb up and down and spin around. Pressing X to jump lets you jump up, and if you want to go somewhere, you'll need to hold the D-Pad towards where you want to go (including that gear).

26:48 - A hidden gear.

27:17 - As Bugs, you'll need to hold Circle in order to sneak. Hold Circle while moving to sneak without breaking the bridge, and hold Circle in mid-air to use Bugs' ears as a helicopter and land softly. From here, you'll need to sneak and jump to the pole to get a gear without disturbing the dog.

29:26 - By jumping into a ledge with the X button and the D-Pad, you can grab on. You can do this with either character, then press Up to pull yourself up, Down to drop down and X to jump up if you need to. This gets the last gear.

30:37 - You'll learn about the items in the game.

The Time Gem is needed to run the Time Regulator properly, and we'll have to get it to end the game.

The gears will appear in much bigger numbers in future areas, and we will need them all to fix the Time Regulator and complete the game 100%. Some gears are worth more than other.

The ACME boxes must be attacked with the Square button. Breaking all of them in an area will reveal a gear.

There will be some characters from one era in a different era, and you'll need to find all five. By doing this, you can get a reward in the era's hubworld.

Clapboards are lives. Pick them up to get more lives.

The carrots refill your health and also act as currency for services.

The boss coins let you face the boss of the era. Find all three in an era to face the boss.

You can save at any time by pausing the game and selecting "Save Game." The Inventory menu tells you what you've got left to collect.

After a long conversation with Granny, you'll be able to enter the Aztec Era.
