lukenuetzmann plays Spider-Man and X-Men in Arcade's Revenge - Part 4 of 14

00620161: "I swear to god that me and my brother broke this game because we had no way of beating that goddamn ball. That ball was the bane of my existence."

Holy fuck, LJN sure succeeded at pissing some kids off back in the day.

Gambit Stage 1

As you make your way through the stage, you'll have a giant spiked ball chasing after you. Strangely, the video doesn't show that you can stop the ball with a few cards...but how the hell are you supposed to figure that out?

Unlike the other characters we've seen so far, Gambit has a different power meter for how much damage he can take. It'll be below the score. He also has another meter for the amount of playing cards he has. You can collect decks of playing cards to replace a large amount of your ammo, but if throw a card, you can pick it up while it's still on-screen for a few seconds. Just have it hit an enemy and you'll be able to pick that card up again. Doing this can minimize wasted ammo at times.

You also have super cards that sends out fireballs that take out anything in their vicinity.

As you make your way to the end, you'll be dealing with pawns, knights, flying clowns, robots, spheres and other enemies.

The stars give you an extra life when you collect 100 of them. Finally, something that makes sense.

The "B" icon refills a lot of your health and cards. You're better off grabbing this, since it can definitely save your life.

Don't grab the health in the maze unless you've destroyed the ball, since there's a possibility that you won't be able to get it and get back on track in time before getting hit by the ball.

When you reach the end of the stage, the spiked ball will be stopped by the floor and ceiling. You'll then fight a King of Spades card with an evil face that wants you dead.

Throw cards at it while dealing with the enemies. When the boss is red, you won't be able to hit him, and he'll also start shooting straight at you. Also, be sure to avoid the boss's eight-way shot.
