Part nostalgia-bomb, part note-taking and part FAQ, what started in GameTrailers as a video game blog is now on Blogger. This blog is a look back at video games, both popular and obscure, from the video game industry's infancy all the way to the previous console generation.

Diniz Games plays Panzer Dragoon - Part 4 of 4
We chase after the Dark Dragon and finally wrap this game up!
Episode 6
We're in a flooded village close to the tower.
You'll be dealing with the Dark Dragon for a while, and you'll also be dealing with a lot of other vehicles of destruction that want you dead. Use your lock-on shots to shoot down everything in your path, and be careful not to run into anything.
Stay low in the narrow corridors, so those drones won't get you with their lasers.
You'll then be dealing with a giant steel gray warship. Avoid its firepower, and take out the drones that it sends at you. When you meet the Dark Dragon again, you'll complete the episode. This is the only episode that doesn't have a boss.
Episode 7
You've made it to the tower...but so has the Dark Dragon! The Dark Dragon is now powered up and ready to take you out before destroying the entire world.
Take out all the drones that surround the Dark Dragon. These things will shoot a lot of projectiles at you. Use lock-on shots for this. That way, you can also get some free shots in on the Dark Dragon.
From there, avoid those arrow-shaped beams that the Dark Dragon shoots at you. They're like the orange beams it shot in Episode 2, except they're a lot larger.
Be sure to move out of the way when the Dark Dragon tries to swipe you with its extra long tail.
When the Dark Dragon's life bar goes all the way down, you did it! You've beaten the game!

Diniz Games plays Panzer Dragoon - Part 3 of 4
In my opinion, these are the two best parts of the game.
Episode 4
The music here is even better.
You'll be flying around in narrow corridors, taking out drones and trying not to run into anything. Use your lock-on shots to take out any enemies on the floor when you enter the wider rooms of this place.
This level is like an elevator ride gone nuts. You'll be going through a lot of not-so-spacious corridors, and the dragon also ducks down into other corridors on the way there. It's the chaos from being whipped around that happens here that makes this one of my two favorite levels in the game.
The doors near the end don't open all the way like they should. You'll have to pull some manuevering to get through them.
The boss is a giant drone. Move out of the way when it launches its "arms" at you and use your lock-on shots as it stands there briefly.
Its main weak points are the arms, but there are other places that you can shoot at to cause damage. Use your lock-on shots and you'll find out where they are.
When you take out one of the arms, it shoots a green laser. Move around and away from the laser to keep it from damaging you. It will then move around and stay in a few spots, and you can hit it with the regular shots from there.
After beating this boss, you'll meet up with the Dark Dragon again, and fly out into the sky of a vast forest.
Episode 5
Be sure to look to your left as you're taking on those warships at the beginning. You don't want to take too much damage from all that cannon fire that they let loose on you.
You'll be dealing with a lot of drones and quite a few warships. The one with the six cone-shaped sails on the top that you saw at the beginning of Episode 2 finally shows up here. Shoot at it until it starts smoking (that's when you've destroyed it) and watch out for all the enemy fire that shows up, especially those rings of laser fire that seem to emanate from the ground.
To beat the boss, avoid the attacks of the two warships, then take down the three spinning gears while destroying much of the firepower that it sends at you. When you take down a gear, that's less firepower it can spit out at you. Regular shots make this easier.
You'll then face the ship itself. Shoot at the blue part underneath where all the missiles come out with regular shots. The missiles can be taken out very quickly with regular shots, as well.

Diniz Games plays Panzer Dragoon - Part 2 of 4
We deal with worms, another dragon and awesome music. Nice.
Episode 2
Some of the enemies are more of the same, but the big threat here are the giant worms that dive in and out of the sand. Take them out as early as possible so they won't get in your way (or eventually catch up with you).
When you enter the cave, use your lock-on shots to take out all those scorpion-like bugs that crawl out of the sand and lunge at you. If you have to, use your regular shots as well.
Once you come out of the cave, you'll be dealing with two giant sand worms. Shoot down the ooze that they launch at you, and use your lock-on shots on its body to take it out slightly faster. Don't worry about that large swarm of bugs at the beginning, they can't really do anything to you.
Once they're gone, you'll be dealing with the Dark Dragon for the first time. Avoid its energy blasts and hit it with your lock-on shots. After a while, it'll fly circles around you and send other projectiles at you. Use your lock-on shots to take these things out, and make taking out the Dark Dragon your number one priority. When you beat him, he'll escape. You haven't seen the last of this powerful foe...
Episode 3
The music here is just god-awesome.
The warships make a return appearance, but only as a regular enemy. Shoot down any cannon fire that comes your way and destroy them like you did before. Watch out for any drones that they may send out at you, as well as any creatures crawling around the ground.
Destroy the machines that you see right after the first arch.
The turrets shortly afterward shoot cannon fire at you. You can take them out with the regular shots, but lock-on shots work better if you see them in groups.
The enemies at the end is some sort of mechanical spider-like tank. When the top combines with the bottom, the boss gauge will pop up and the battle bigs. Shoot the little yellow square between the top of its body and the fan blades (if you need to, use lock-on shots to home in on it). Avoid the fan blades as they move toward you.
For its second form, the bottom falls off and the top grows legs. The bottom then moves to the ceiling of this new form and becomes its protective cover. It will then jump around and also have two weak points. Aim for either of the two yellow squares on it (once again, use lock-on shots), and avoid that cannon fire while you're looking behind you. It will also fire out cones that explode, which send shrapnel at you just when you're about to turn around. Thankfully, these cones can be destroyed with regular shots before they can pose a threat.
The top will fall off when it's nearly destroyed. It's pretty easy by that point.

I'm finally covering a Sega Saturn game? Well, blow me down!
After that really nifty cutscene that takes over half the video but nonetheless does a really good job explaining the story (and it still looks good), we finally kick this bad boy off!
Episode 1
Holding the fire button down lets you power-up your gun and also lock on to multiple targets. Just move the cursor onto some enemies while you've got the fire button held down and you'll be able to auto-target them.
It should be noted that running into obstacles is not awesome and you will take damage.
You can use the shoulder buttons to look left and right, and even directly behind you. Use the radar on the upper-left hand corner to see if any enemies are headed your way.
Those large orange and purple flower-like things on the surface on the water cannot be destroyed or locked onto, and they clap onto you like a Venus Flytrap. Just stay away from them.
You'll enter a building, and then come to the end of it pretty quickly. You'll then see enemy fire shoot straight through the ceiling, and it's just you, the ocean...and the boss: a giant warship.
Shoot at the bottom of the warship, and take out any of the drones that it sends at you. You'll be able to lock onto the bottom of the ship, but shoot at it with a combination of regular and lock-on shots.
The ship will also send out submarines that come at you from behind as well as missiles that home in on you...so use those shoulder buttons! This will be easy practice for getting used to looking around, as you'll be doing this with other bosses.
When you deplete the enemy's HP gauge on the top of the screen, you've done it. But this is just the first episode...and it's gonna be more epic from here...
