PrinceWatercress plays Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain - Part 7 of 41

In this entry, we face our first member of the Circle of Nine in Nupraptor. With some patience, he can be beaten. From there, it's time to explore more of Nosgoth to find Malek.

Just pick a corner and hit the switch to open the doors. You'll need to get through all four areas here to continue on and fight Nupraptor.

0:41 - Hit the switch on the painting, then go into the teleporter in the next room. Follow the lit path. You'll find switches lighting up the next section on the floor by walking around. Use those to find out where to go next. If you stray at any point from the path, you'll be teleported back to the beginning.

2:26 - Use Magical Light here to see as you take out all the zombies. From here, head north to exit. This part is deceptively simple.

3:59 - Go through the rooms and be careful as you do so, as zombies will materialize as you go. Look for lit-up areas to find switches. You'll find the Energy Bank spell, which gives you infinite magic for a brief time only to drain you of all magic afterwards.

6:10 - Here, you'll have to traverse paths made out of spikes and do your best to stay away from spike pits. Use your wolf form to get to switches when necessary, and watch the spikes carefully so you'll know where to step when without taking damage.

8:01 - Now that you've completed all four of the puzzles here, it's time to go further into Nupraptor's Retreat. You'll have to face enemies with magical enemies again, so be careful.

9:54 - Go south and to the sides for a blood vial for a blood vial, a magical rune and a new spell that makes enemies not only melt into poisonous goo, but also into poisonous goo that hurts enemies on contact.

11:10 - Get the stuff here before stepping on the teleporter with the black symbol, which takes you to a save spire. After this...

11:58 - ...you'll meet Nupraptor and Malek. It's time to fight.

12:32 - To beat Nupraptor, you'll need to avoid the magical spheres that advance towards you. The purple ones will fade in and out. Once you hit Nupraptor, the spheres will switch direction and you'll need to go to the other side of the room to hit Nupraptor. Also, spikes will start popping up in the floor where there were not spikes before.

If you don't have a way to get away from the balls, use the safe spots at the ends of the room until you do.

13:46 - After enough damage, it's time for the second phase of the battle. Watch the skulls, then move in and strike when you have a clean shot. After only a few more strikes, Nupraptor is dead and you'll be able to take his severed head as proof that you have vanquished him.

14:42 - By heading north to the teleporter after beating Nupraptor, you'll get the mace. This lets you get rid of these triangular prism-shaped monoliths - known as menhirs - that you've seen before, and you can also use it to stun enemies to suck their blood in just a few hits.

To switch between weapons, press Start and choose the middle option (the statue with the sword). Here, you can switch between weapons and later, armors, with the D-Pad and the X button. Press Square to back out. There are some short but frequent load times to this, however, and you don't have the luxury of shortcut keys like in future adventure games.

Hit the black treasure chests with the mace to open them.

Once you leave, you'll automatically return to the Pillars of Nosgoth.

18:52 - With the Pillar of the Mind restored, we find out where to go next. We must now restore the Pillar of Conflict by facing Malek in a fortress past Vasserbunde to the north.

By going to the world map, Malek's Bastion will flash blue. This is the next area you'll need to go to.

As for the bat form, when you use it, use Up and Down to switch between beacons. Use Left and Right to switch between major locations, such as the Pillars of Nosgoth and the lairs of the Circle of Nine members that you've spotted before on land.

Secrets

12. Hitting the switch here activates another secret. This opens a door leading to five flays.
