OldSchoolGamer82 plays Bart Simpson's Escape From Camp Deadly - Part 3 of 3

Well, this place sucks. Time to put an end to the proceedings.

Level 5

Now it's time for the free exercise period. The only real rules are no rock climbing and keeping off Mt. Deadly. They're obviously going to go hand in hand, so it's not surprising that Bart is going to break both of those rules at the same time.

To climb the mountain, climb on the heavily textured parts of the walls.

The first cave you come across has an extra life inside.

Exit through the top opening in this room, then climb up again. Take the Boomerangs from Lisa. Continue climbing and avoid the boulders that are thrown at you.

Go to the right. Be careful with the thin platforms as they will send you tumbling if you're on them for too long. You'll eventually be able to climb again. Avoid the hawks, as they will cause instant death if they hit you.

Hit the first bat when you enter the cave, then drop down so you can avoid the rest of the bats. You'll want to grab the ladder before you hit the ground, or else you'll die from the fall damage. Watch out for the skulls that drop down, as they can fall down in front of you after they shake for half a second. Just keep going right without hesitation and you should be good.

You'll soon take on skeletons. They'll fall with a hit from the Boomerangs.

You'll have to climb up eventually. Kill the first bat with the boomerang, then avoid the bats on your way up. Just wait for them to get out of your way. You'll have enough time.

When you make it back out, take care on the narrow platforms. Don't spend too much time on the platforms, but jump forward as soon as the screen is centered back on you.

Climb up, and grab more Boomerangs from Lisa. Kill the guy tossing rocks at the top and go in the cave. Treat the bats at the ladder going up like you did with the first ladder that went up earlier.

Level 6

It's night, and you're now at the top of Mt. Deadly and leaving camp property, heading towards the power station. Don't disturb the bears!

Get ready to toss Boomerangs at security guards. Grab the Boomerangs from Lisa shortly after the start.

The hornets come back, but you can beat them the same way you did before. Remember, if you can get them behind you, keep on running.

Don't step on any groups of sticks that are lying on the ground, or else you'll wake the bears and you'll be forced to jump clear over them. Of course, you shouldn't touch the bears if they're asleep, either.

If a Boomerang hits the top of the screen, you can cause it to rebound off the top of the screen and come back down at a lower angle. Weird.

You'll be able to get more Boomerangs after dealing with the hornets.

After some more security guards, you'll see another pool of water to get past along wtih some fish to avoid.

Jump on the stumps to avoid the fires.

There is a radioactive pipeline after this. Jump over the ants or kill them Boomerangs. Avoid both the radioactive atoms and the droplets.

When you see the four lights at the top, hit them all with your boomerang. The area will get dark and Lisa can escape from the clutches of Ironfist Burns, who you'll now have to fight.

Or not. You can jump clear over him and climb up the ladder. From there, you can jump onto the switch to turn the power to the camp off, putting an end to Camp Deadly. You did it!

OldSchoolGamer82 plays Bart Simpson's Escape From Camp Deadly - Part 2 of 3

Have to hand it to Acclaim. They did their best at spicing stuff up a little bit by adding Madman Mort.

Level 3

Here, you're playing Capture the Flag again. The sign will warn you to beware of killer hornets, and to avoid the snares set to catch Madman Mort.

Climb up the tree where Lisa is at the beginning and grab the Boomerangs so you can take out the bad guys.

After riding the log that moves across the pool of water, you'll find Madman Mort hung on a snare. Walk up to the bottom of the snare to cut it. This isn't required, but it's definitely worth it as Mort will help you later on.

Climb up the tree where you found Mort and you'll be in Slipshod Sammy's tree house. Alternate between the spitwads and the boomerangs by mashing the attack button until you knock him into the pit in the floor. By beating him, you'll get the radiation suit. This allows you to take the shortcut into the radioactive pipeline. As long as you have the suit, you can walk through the radioactive atoms that move up and down, but you'll still have to avoid the drops that fall from the ceiling.

The suit should last you the whole way through the tunnel. When you reach the end, take the Boomerangs from Lisa to ensure you have more than enough ammo to get through the level.

You'll see a Krusty head shortly after you come out of the other end of the path, so go get it.

You'll want to stay away from the killer hornets if you get close enough to irk them into moving at you. If you can get them next to you, throw the boomerang to kill them. If you can pick them off from a distance, do that too. You'll eventually find the first flag in the mess of hornets.

If you can run under the hornets, keep running. They won't be able to hit you as long as you keep moving.

You'll soon find Lisa in a tree. Take the boomerangs. There is another pipe you can take, but you're better off just climbing the tree and jumping over the pool of water. Get the Krusty head that you see soon afterwards.

Avoid the apples the enemies throw at you. They travel in a slight arc, so duck if you have to. You'll soon see the second flag, followed by a series of logs on the water. Jump over the fish, then climb the tree and get more boomerangs from Lisa.

You'll take on Nelson. You'll have to throw boomerangs to take him down. If you've freed Madman Mort, pick up his symbol when it appears, and he'll show up to stop Nelson from throwing apples at you. You now have free reign to attack Nelson without consequence. Once Nelson's taken out, you can take the third flag.

Level 4

It's dinner time...and it's just like lunch. Throw food at enemies, conserve your ammo, duck under what's thrown at you, and don't throw food when the mess hall monitors are on the screen. The first items is fried smelts, the second is liver pizza (why?), and the third is prune ice cream (that's even worse, dude).

You'll find a Mort symbol halfway through the liver pizza section. Pick it up to get three donuts.

OldSchoolGamer82 plays Bart Simpson's Escape From Camp Deadly - Part 1 of 3

The Bart Trilogy concludes with Escape From Camp Deadly! It's the first of the three games, as well as the first portable Simpsons title, but it's known for being difficult if you don't know what to do.

The game starts with Bart and Lisa heading to camp...only to find out it's run by Mr. Burns' nephew, Ironfist Burns. If the tired campers walking in the background aren't a dead giveaway, this is not going to be a good experience for either of them.

Level 1

The first level is a game of Capture the Flag. Team A is Bart Simpson. Team B is everyone else. You can see where this is going.

You can climb trees with the Control Pad. You'll need to climb one shortly after the start to collect the boomerangs from Lisa.

Whenever you defeat an enemy, wait for another enemy to appear and then kill that enemy. If no other enemies appear, continue. Doing otherwise will cause you to be constantly swarmed by enemies.

The dark-skinned enemies give you donuts for health. The HUD at the top of the screen shows up to nine, but you can carry more than that as indicated by a "+" symbol after the ninth donut. If you get hit, the game will briefly pause and the HUD will say "Eat my shorts." It gets slightly annoying after a while, especially when you don't see the hit coming."

The Boomerangs are a much better weapon that the spitwads that you start with. Instead of just stunning enemies, they outright get rid of them. Make sure the boomerang returns to you, since you want to conserve your five boomerangs. Whenever a boomerang is flying around, you're stuck hitting other enemies with your spitwads until it returns, so use that time to stun another enemy until you can destroy him.

The darker patches of land are water, and you definitely want to jump over those.

Avoid the bees at all costs, as the bees are instant death.

When you approach a tree that goes up to the ceiling and a pool of water that blocks your path, climb up it and you'll end up in Blindside Bill's Tree House. To beat Blindside Bill, jump over him and throw a boomerang in his back. After a few hits, he's gone. Don't forget to get the two donuts he drops after you beat him.

After beating him, jump over the hole in the floor and get the beekeeper's suit from Lisa. With this hat, you'll be invincible against the bees, but the other enemies can still get you and you won't be able to use your weapons while you're wearing it.

Drop down at the tree, then leap to the left and grab the Krusty head to get an extra life, being careful not to fall into the pool of water when you guide yourself back to the right. Use the beekeeper's suit to get the flag from behind the bees.

After a while, the beekeeper's suit will wear off and you'll be able to attack enemies again. But you'll be doing something far from that as you'll have to jump from one branch to another, taking long leaps to avoid being hit by the wildlife (such as the fish that leap in and out of the water) or falling into the water.

After you reach dry land from the jumping section, climb up the second tree to take on Rebound Rodney. Unlike Blindside Bill, Rodney is completely optional. To beat him, throw a boomerang into one of the upper corners and time your throw so it hits him from behind on the way back. If you hit him, you can get two more units of health from the donuts that he drops, so remember to get those if the boomerang connects.

The real reason why fighting Rebound Rodney and beating him is worth it, however, is what you get from Lisa afterward. After beating Rodney, jump over the hole in the floor and grab the uniform from Lisa's hand. You'll get the football uniform, which will make you invincible and allow you to plow through a whole bunch of enemies until it wears off. Force your way to the right, grab the third flag, and take care of all the enemies that show up after the football uniform wears off. Shoot boomerangs low when necessary, because sometimes enemy will crouch down to avoid the boomerangs.

There is a Krusty head at the top of one of the trees shortly after the third flag, so remember to climb up and get it. After that, go to the right and grab the last flag to end the first level.

Level 2

For the second section, you're in the cafeteria. You'll have to use the food you collect here as ammo to defeat enemies. Collect every food item you come across, and don't waste ammo. Be ready to duck underneath the knives and jump over the forks that the enemies throw at you.

The first food you'll be collecting are tofu burgers. The second will be broccoli. The third will be crabapples.

When you reach a trash can, you'll have to throw all the food you find into it. Every five food items you throw away gives you an extra donut for your health.

After the first trash can, jump on top of the boxes and grab the extra life at the top of the screen.

If you see a guy in white standing around onscreen, DO NOT throw food. According to the sign at the beginning of the section, food fights are not permitted, and if you throw it, you eat it. If these guy catch you throwing food, you'll be forced to eat the food.

After throwing all your broccoli away, climb up the pole and drop right from the top of it to grab the Krusty head at the top.

Be careful when fighting the enemies, as the enemies here will throw projectiles low and jump toward you in an attempt to trick you into wasting your ammo.
