If you can get to this point, the game throws its its kid gloves off. It gets even harder from here.
Mission 4: Attack Mad Scientist!
In this level, you will not be able to use your burner. That also means no double jumps. You'll also have eight hit points for this level.
Avoid the black goop at all costs. It will annihilate you, and you cannot annihilate it. You can, however, shoot at it at times to push it back in certain vertical corridors.
If a door gets in your way in the vents, shoot at it until it is destroyed. You'll need to duck walk to get through the vents, too.
Some of the capsules will have monsters that will break out. The black and purple can easily be destroyed, but the worm-shaped purple blobs have a monster form and are only vulnerable in that form. Keep on shooting in the wide open areas to blast through the enemies.
To get past the electric barrier wall, push it all the way back with your bullets, then hold Up and jump to jump high enough to jump past the wall when it comes your way.
At one point, you'll have to stand on a platform that is raised up by the black ooze you've been seeing throughout the level. The "arms" that come out of the level curve to the side, and the side that they curve to is the direction they will shoot upwards at an arc. You will need to watch out for the ooze that is shot out, and you will also need to take as little damage as possible. Once the platform is lined up with the two openings at the sides, you'll be able to continue on.
Jump into the rafts to knock them into the ooze, and jump from raft to raft to get to safer ground.
The droids that jump around are best taken out with the rocket launcher. They will shoot out creatures that jump towards you, but if you can anticipate where they will land quickly, you can duck down to avoid them all.
The three enemies at the end not only give you a ton of health, but also a burner power-up for your jetpack. You're gonna need it against the boss, which is the mad scientist driving heavy machinery. You'll need to use the jetpack and fully charged plasma cannon shots to destroy the yellow domes on the top, and you'll need the rocket launcher to take out the yellow dome on the bottom. To avoid the ESWAT clones made out of ooze, use the jetpack to jump up and over them, then shoot at the domes while avoiding the arms and get back to the left when the ooze clone is gone. Once all three domes are destroyed, you've beaten the mad scientist.
