Oh, boy. If these jumps were more Mario-y, this game would have been better.
The Lungs
Tar deposits slow down the flow of air to the alveoli, cutting off the oxygen supply to the blood. Pre-cancerous cells threaten both lungs. Remove tar deposits and pre-cancerous cells quickly.
The pre-cancerous cells looks just like the leukoplakia. Also, the final enemy from the mouth area shows up early on, but if you duck down under it and keep shooting, the lasers won't hit you and it will eventually die.
The satellite dish will shot fireballs at you. Duck down and destroy it with your gun.
The black that's all over the background is the tar. At this point, the floor is anything but flat. If you see the robots with the lasers on their head, get on lower ground and fire at them from up close. You won't have to worry about ducking, either.
Even though the blaster is more powerful, it has a reduced rate of fire, and you can only have projectile on the screen at a time. You're better off with the flamethrower, as you will need to clean things to get through the game, especially later on.
There is one of those slow-flying shooting mini-bosses at the end. Beat it, and you can continue on to the next level.
The Bronchial Tubes
The bronchial tubes are clogged with green phlegm. Remove phlegm before further damage occurs.
This is another Mode 7 flying stage, and once again, you have to find the big holes in the phlegm walls to get through the area without taking a lot of damage. This stage is much like the trachea, so there's not much new here.
The Final Lung Area
There is a lot of damage from emphysema. The lungs are enlarged, and the alveoli walls are broken down. Pre-cancerous cells and tar pollute the area. Destroy tar and pre-cancerous cells.
At this point, you can pretty much tell what you're supposed to shoot down. There is a laser just after the start, but if you go to the right just enough, you'll barely be able to see it and you can shoot it down before it shoots you.
The final lung area is a bit of a maze, and some areas have more enemies than other. If you have to, switch between the flamethrower and the blaster, and use that map! At this point, you'll starting finding out that the jumping controls are pretty awkward and that they make getting around harder than it should be.
You'll also find out that the enemies here start getting more numerous. Hope you like learning to deal with two of those slow-flying shooting mini-boss-esque enemies, because you'll be doing that at the end. Interestingly enough, jumping to the left when fighting them makes for a pretty good safe zone.
If you die at any point in the game, you re-spawn exactly where you died. That's pretty convenient.
True statements:
Almost everyone with lung cancer smoked.
Smoking can make holes in your lungs.
Smoke increases your risk of emphysema, asthma and bronchitis.
More people die from smoking than from car accidents.
